First things first: I love wings and the occasional glutinous trip to a bar to slam down a dozen, even knowing I will wake up in the morning painfully regretting that decision. Â "BDubs" was cool in high school, but more recent trips here have led me to believe that the quality of their food as well as their service and management has gone down the tubes. Â My last few trips here were subpar at best and most of the time this place was a last resort because it's close to the movie theater. Â I cannot wrap my head around the fact that there's almost always a wait to eat here....
My REAL issue with this place is not the food. Â I do not expect much from chains like this as far as taste and quality so I cannot say that I am shocked as to what they offer. Â What has made me decide to stay away from this place in its entirety is their recent change in management and the fact that they do not continue to support children with special needs.
Apparently this location has gone from a franchise to being corporate and thus, new management has come in. Â My autistic cousin, who is willing, enthusiastic, good at taking instruction with appropriate oversight, and ridiculously friendly (you want a hug? he will give you 20) was working at this location through a program that the old franchise management had set up for kids with special needs. Â If you care about the development and happiness of kids like my cousin, this was a HUGE deal! It gave him and many others a job where he could learn life skills that would help him adapt and mature to thrive better in our society as a functioning adult. Â Under the new corporate management, this remarkable outreach program was discontinued. Â As Emma Goldman once said (man, my history teacher would be proud): The most violent element in society is ignorance.
If you want some wings dipped in prejudice with a side of ignorance-this is your place. Â If you want to stand up for what's right-I suggest you find somewhere else for your post-hangover meal ;)
