A friend and I stopped in here after being at the VFW down the st for a cancer fundraiser. Our first option was Jimmy Buffs but it was closed. So we stumbled in here, starving from a night of drinking...it wasn't too late 10ish and they were about to close. Â We ordered the last 3 slices and ate them as quick as it was for you to read this sentence. Sign on the wall says "no eating at the counter" and there are no tables but since it was about to close we just stood at the counter eating our slices. Not minding the sign...It wasn't good pizza but when your starving, everything tastes good. If you're in the area, I would opt for another place before going here...
Review Source:Their pizza is a great, but everyone needs to try their sandwiches/subs! Â These are excellent. Â The amount of quality meat, the cheese, and the bread are perfect, they also use Russian dressing on many of their subs which is the perfect sub condiment! Â Much better than their neighbors to the left of them.
Review Source:If you're from Kenilworth, you're never further than 1/4 mile from a pizza place. Â That's probably not even an exaggeration. Â That being said, Capri is probably my least favorite spot in town.
It was good when we I was younger, but the novelty of the strange building wore off quick for me. Â It's possible I just got a few bad slices the few times I've been back since so many people rave about the pizza but I usually go to Pizza Stop or Greco Roma instead. Â
Parking out front can be limited, but there is a lot behind the building.
NOTE: It's takeout only. Â There are no tables inside.
Capri Pizza has some heavy pizzas. I really enjoy Capri Pizza but sometimes it is just too heavy. On a normal cheese pizza, they put on so much cheese.
I am pretty sure they also sell slices of pizza, but there is nowhere to sit inside the pizzeria, so it would be a grab and go slice.
Our family favorite. They make me drive 10 minutes to this place rather than buy from all the shops closer. And I do it happily as this is very good pizza. Don't need to actually order extra cheese as the regular pie is already loaded. They need to make a good pie to survive in Kenilworth.
Review Source:For a long time, this was my favorite slice in New Jersey. Â The crust is thin, with just a little bit of corn meal at the bottom. Â The sauce is just sweet crushed tomatoes, and when the pie is being assembled they hit it with just a bit of oregano and pecorino romano cheese. Â The pie is topped with grande whole milk mozzarella. Â They also make hot and cold sandwiches which I haven't tried. Â This place used to pride itself on using top notch ingredients but I feel like the pizza has been really inconsistent in the last few years. Â I have asked if they change the type of cheese they use from time to time and swear they don't. Â It's always been above average pizza though at a good price.
Review Source:This is just a take out pizza place, but has outstanding pizza. As an ex-Bronxite this is as good as it gets in Jersey. Â I usually avoid most Jersey pizza since I've been disappointed way too many times. Â These guys make a terrific crust and the standard cheese topping with sauce is a true classic. Â If you are in the neighborhood try a couple of slices and decide for yourself. Â I live two towns away and go out of my way to go there.
