TERRIBLE service. Took at least 20 minutes for someone to even realize we were there and ask us about drinks. Waitresses had tables all over the huge compound and were running back and forth, so it's more management's fault than theirs. Felt bad for the table of 12 or so who had placed orders before we arrived and were just receiving food as we left.
Food itself was fine, fried seafood was good. Got cheese fries for an appetizer, which was a mistake! They were covered in nacho cheese instead of actual cheese. Not appetizing.
Who knew such a cool place was tucked away on Market Street? Â Erin and her family have a great business, not only to volleyball teams, but the public in general. Â They offer great food and plenty of flowing drinks in a casual environment. Â Always fun, always welcoming. Â Can't wait to come back!
Review Source:I've been going to Capt'n Bill's for years & LOVE IT! Obviously if you love beach volleyball this is the place to be. But I really love this place for the food, people and fun times. They have one of the best burgers & BBQ in town & the bartenders are awesome. Because of the sand volleyball courts you can't have glass there, so the whole place has more of a tiki bar feel to it, which I love. Over the years the owner has made a lot of improvements...hi-def TVs everywhere, expanded the deck and seating options and improved the courts. They also have daily specials that help cut-down already reasonably priced food & cocktails.
Review Source:Just wanted to say that my family went the other day and the food was delicious. Â Got a chance to meet the owner who seemed very hands on and by looking around you can see that he puts a lot of time into his business. Â Today that means a lot. Â Has been there for 20 years so he must be doing something right ! Â I will definitely come back and bring my whole family so we can do some family fun time volleyball!
Review Source:Pretty standard fare. Â The junior slop burger was tasty and the fried pickles are plentiful. Â We stopped in on "Be a Tourist in Your Own Town" day and it was pretty dead. Â We'll stop in here later in the year when volleyball picks up and report back. Â The setup is awesome for volleyball or horseshoes so I look forward to seeing the place when it's hopping.
Review Source:Have to take away a star due to limited beer selection, as other reviews have pointed out. Â I'll give it back once we get some decent microbrews on tap. Â The other option is cans, since they don't do bottles so my suggestion for canned beers would be some of Dale's/Oscar Blues creations or maybe Modus Hoperandi from Ska Brewing.
Review Source:If you love beach volleyball, this is the place to be. The food is not terrible, ranking right around the same as an applebee's on quality. We came here get lunch and watch the Patriots game. As a sports bar Bill's is mediocre at best. No A/C, slow service, awful TV's and a very limited beer selection.
Review Source:Half of my spare time from the past year has been spent at Capt'n Bill's. Such a fun place. I feel at home there. They've raised the price to play volleyball this year and it's getting a little ridiculous. But, I'm a firm believer in the goodness in people. It must cost a huge amount to keep that place running. So, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. I have a feeling that we'll always find a way to pay every few months to play season after season. Now, if we could only win a game...
