There was a line of people waiting to order their sandwiches at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon - that was enough for me to know that this is a popular neighborhood Italian deli.

So after watching the Iron Chef at 4am where the secret ingredient was proscuitto, I started to develop a craving for proscuitto.  As soon as I woke up, I did a Yelp search for proscuitto and found Casa Del Sole.

They make their own fresh mozzerella cheese.  I ordered the Ventura Grande which is a mix of proscuitto and other meats that I didn't care about and/or can't pronounce and mozzerella.  Also ordered the imported proscuitto (the more expensive one) with mozzerella cheese.  Both were medium size, and both were huge.  Yes, the prices are a bit high compared to other delis in the area, but the amount of food that you get makes it reasonable.  I wasn't too crazy about the Ventura Grande sandwich.  It was a bit salty - probably due to the cold cut meats that I didn't really care about.  The imported proscuitto sandwich was spot-on.  Good quality proscuitto and the mozzerella was delicious.  I actually took some of the proscuitto out because it was overpowering the fresh mozzerella.

I hope to come back and try their signature sandwich, Casa Del Sole sandwich.  The person who prepared my sandwich told me that it was their most popular.

Casa is and always will be the best place around for a good sandwich. I have also had catering done by them and I was impressed good prices for what you get.

The best and most famous/freshest Italian Deli in the county.  Creme de la creme.
I have not been to many better anywhere.  Closed on Mondays.  Everything is freshly made.  Fresh Mozz is more than famous.  Sandwiches are HUGE! I get the Prosciuto and fresh mozz sandwich.  Amazing.  People may think its very pricey, but for this area and the consistent level of top notch quality and taste...Who cares!?
So worth every penny!  Famous and Great for catering!  Round these parts you can never go wrong with anything from Casa!

It seems like just a little Italian deli on the side of the road, but it's whats inside that's special. I had the chicken and eggplant parm hero lunch special. For about 8 bucks, you get overstuffed Italian goodness. Just the right amount of mozzarella and sauce. They also tossed in a side of amazing cole slaw. This was a tangy mayo less slaw with some raisins in it. Yum. Will definitely hit it up for lunch more often.

I have been going to this place for over 30 years and have yet to find another place anywhere that has sandwiches to match the quality of Casa Del Sol.

They use top-notch ingredients, along with great bread, and they slice everything really thin which makes a huge difference. You can use the highest quality imported proscuitto, but if it's sliced too thick, it will tatse like salty shoe leather.

I have also had many of the hot items along with every possible sandwich they offer and everything is consistently great.

Absolutely, by far, the BEST fresh mozzarella this side of the Atlantic, made fresh daily. I love it when its still warm, along with some thinly sliced proscuitto....awesome!!

The 3-6 foot hero's are also amazing :)

I've been eating sandwiches from Casa since 1976. Probably the most consistent food I've ever had. No matter who (men, women and teenagers) made the sandwich, it was the delicious every time. That's 36 years! What that means to me is they only use the best meats , cheeses and bread PERIOD

When i walk in the door i frigin' salivate from the smell.

    Have one of these:

    Italian Special
    - Prosciutto, Salami, Pepperoni,
    Mortadella, Provolone                  Maybe my favorite.....

    Roman Fiesta
    - Ham, Salami, Pepperoni, Homemade Fresh
    Mozzarella                               Feels like a baby.....

    Ventura Grande
    - Prosciutto, Sopressata, Italian Coppa,
Homemade Fresh Mozzarella                I married a girl who ate this.....

you must also get this on your hero -
Lettuce  Tomato  White or Red Onions  Sweet Peppers  Hot Peppers  Oil & Vinegar

Even if you hate these delicious Italian delicacies made by the Gods, have turkey and american on a hero....you'll say it's the best.

Having grown up in the area, I have known Casa Del Sole for a long time.  I lived in various parts of the US and Casa Del Sole has always been the yardstick I measured others by.  I still have not found a sandwich like the Casa Del Sole special.  The bread is soft and sandwich is piled high with meats.   I have even tried to recreate it at home with no success.  I highly recommend the Casa Del Sole Special with some hot peppers!

Great fresh Italian provisions - friendly counter service. If you don't see it on the board, ASK and they will accommodate. Sandwiches and paninis are weekend staples for us.

Tip: the medium sandwich is a great value; for just a bit more than a small, two people can split it.

Soups are tasty - try the Italian wedding if they have it; pasta fagiole is another goodie. Check the freezer for fresh frozen pastas and homemade pizzas.

Parking may be tricky during busy times, but worth the wait.

I'm an out of towner who travels for a living. Just wanted to let you know that this place is a great local gem. I had the Roman Fiesta and it was awesome. I only finished half of it (it's HUGE) and that was a medium!  The price was awesome too. Thanks for the tip!

This place is indeed just as good as it gets! Just remember one thing....CLOSED MONDAY'S!!

I hate when I get a craving for their meatballs on a Monday and head over and then have the brain fart that they're closed.

The staff is here is fantastic, polite, attentive, friendly, all around a good group of people.

The food is second to none, their sandwiches are delicious, their pasta is amazing, and their cannolis....make sure you get two!! They have some really great take home dishes as well.

Lunch time is always busy, they don't have a huge dinner crowd, so if you're looking for something to bring home to the fam, head on over around dinner time.

Definitely try the sausage bread or the pepperoni bread....whichever one is on the counter is delicious so get it!!

There is absolutely no better deli anywhere.   The food is out of this world and the help is alway very, very accommodating. The sandwiches are always overstuffed and very delicious. A must if you are in the area.

I had only heard great things about Casa Del Sole from my girlfriend's father and every time I passed it, I had always thought it was a Mexican restaurant, but was I wrong. A side from my beloved Luigi O'Grady's in Pearl River, Casa Del Sole is next in line as my favorite deli.

This place is downright 100% an Italian deli. The parking lot is always full so finding a spot in this small little place gets tough sometimes. As I walked in, I was greeted with a strong mouth watering smell of Italian foods. There were fresh salami's hanging from the ceiling, fresh trays of hot Italian food on the counter and tons of other great food. The counter workers were so friendly and actually took the time to understand what you wanted 100%. I ordered one of my favorite sandwiches which was chicken cutlet, provolone, lettuce, tomato and honey mustard. My girlfriend ordered a turkey, lettuce and mayonnaise sandwich. For both of the huge sandwiches, the price was very cheap. We ate them in the car as we couldn't wait and they were absolutely delicious and some of the largest sandwiches I've ever seen. They were filled sky high with everything to the point where I was afraid my sandwich was going to topple over.

It's been a few months since I've gone back due to not having to travel to that area anymore, but I would really love to try one of their signature sandwiches even though I know it will taste incredible just like my normal sandwich I usually order. The only issue I had (that probably won't make a difference for most of you) is that I wish they would sell Boarshead cold cut meats instead of Thumann's brand, but that's just me.

I give Casa Del Sole a solid 5/5. This place is the definition of a traditional Italian deli dishing out some of the best sandwiches you could eat. The prices are great, the staff is very friendly and the sandwiches are HUGE, especially if you get their largest sized one.

This is probably the best Italian deli in the state. The Ventura grande is awesome. HUGE... it's 17 bucks, but its the size of 3 sandwichs (hint to those who say its exensive, order the small one, its normal size/price) ... Fresh pastas, Fresh homemade mozzarella,  sauces, breads, you name it they have it....

I LOVE THIS DELI! One of the best Italian delis in this area, for sure. The people who work there are knowledgable and helpful. I've bought lobster ravioli and pancetta and it was a great quality. My family loved it. It is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

There is just something special about the neighborhood delicatessen that you grow up with.   This is one of the best Italian combo sandwiches in New Jersey.   You should order the ROMAN FIESTA.  Trust me.

The Italian combo is traditionally several cured Italian meats and Italian cheese on an Italian roll.  In this case the combination is ham, salami pepperoni, and fresh mozzarella.  I would suggest just asking for the works which includes lettuce, tomato, white onion, and banana peppers.
The meat is sliced thinly and piled high the bread is crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside without being too hard.  The red wine vinegar and oil keeps the sandwich moist without it being too greasy.  This is truly one of my favorite foods ever.

Don't let it pass you by it's a hidden gem.

One of the best Italian delis in the area (I think it was recently voted best in bergen county in Bergen Magazine). The Ventura Grande is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. If you like a sandwich, this is the ultimate one. Get it with the works.

Of course, a place like this will be a little pricey but its well worth it. My friends and I always get the large ventura grande on our way up north to snowboard (I think it costs around $17) and split it between two people. It's huge, half will fill you up and I'm not a small guy.

Their fresh mozzarella is made every morning, among the best I've had, comparable to some I've had in Italy. We're an Italian family and its a mandatory dish at any holiday.

When considering the price, consider its location and consider the quality. You can't get much better than this, anywhere nearby. It is a small, independent, family-owned italian deli in the middle of bergen county. It's not going to be cheap. Support your local italian deli, pay a little more, and enjoy!

No frills needed. This is what a deli is supposed to be. You walk in, take your place in line (long at lunch) and figure out what to eat. High quality cold cuts and people who know how to use them. Their fresh mozzarella is addictive. We love both their chicken and tuna salad. Extensive selection of gourmet frozen ravioli, pastas and fresh sauce make dinner decisions easy. Their sandwich platters are a staple at any casual party I have.

The service isn't just good...it's sincerely friendly and helpful. These are people who appreciate your business and it shows. True the prices they charge are sometimes a bit hard to swallow but I have yet to find another deli in the area that can match the quality (especially the bread) so you get what you paid for.

For years and years, "Casa" has been the gold standard for the Pascack Valley when it comes to Italian Deli.   The quality is there, as it always has been.  I hardly go there anymore, though.  Why?  For great Italian Deli I wait for a chance to get to Hoboken, or Brooklyn or Staten Island...  because I feel like Casa is a rip-off.  It seems that they recognize the new wave of  "upscale" residents in the area who will spend absolutely anything for the best.  And more power to them; their business seems to be doing great.  But I can make do with the other delis in the area which have good stuff at reasonable prices until I get to Hoboken for the great stuff at low prices.  As an example - I remember paying upwards of 17 bucks for a fresh mozz and prosciutto sandwich at Casa, and the fresh mozz is sliced into slices maybe 1/4 inch thick, at most.  Compare that to my place in Hoboken - M&P Biancamana's - who for well under $10 makes the same sandwich with better and more ingredients - their mozz is sliced into 1-inch+ slabs and piled on.

If you don't mind spending top dollar for good quality, Casa is a great choice.  There is nothing bad in this place, it's all good, if not great - but you WILL pay for it.

The bf took me here for "The Best Sandwich Ever" and I'll have to admit it was damn good. We ordered the Ventura Grande (Prosciutto, Sopressata, Italian Coppa & homemade mozzarella) and the Roman Fiesta (Ham, Salami, Pepperoni & homemade mozzarella).  Both sandy's only had lettuce, tomato, oil, vinegar, and peppers for dressing and didn't need a thing to make them mouth-watering.  Everything was made on the premeses, including the bread.  They had cured meats hanging next to fresh oregano, cannoli shells ready for stuffing, and homemade manicotti & ravolis in the fridge.  A true family biz that has been kicking ass & taking names for years, and with these sandy's they're guaranteed to be around for many more to come.
