One of the first lunches I ever had in Stamford was at Casey's. Â i came in with a large group and sat in the back patio area. Â It would have been fantastic had it not been painfully hot outside. Â But hey I was not in charge of the group so I dealt with it.
Our waitress greeted us in a thick brogue which I knew was a sign to order a Guinness. Â It was a good move as Casey's is one of the few bars that know hw to properly serve one.
As for my lunch, I had the steak sandwich special. Â It was covered in mozzarella and fried onions and tasted great. Â The fried onions really made the sandiwich. Â Everything on the menu cost around $10 and considered the size of the sandwich you get I would say they are all worth it.
Hopefully I will be able to drop by Casey's again.
My friend at my job kept on talking about this place and finally got me to go one night. Since then ive been hooked. Caseys is a real bar with real people. Â Their patio in the back is amazing for summer, and the staff is great. Â On fridays they have a DJ and the place gets pretty loud and transforms into more of a club atmosphere. Â Also, on Sundays they have Karaoke which is a little corny but fun when youve had a couple drinks. Â If they had a bit more of a beer selection this would be 5 stars for me easy.
Review Source:I went here twice this past week - first on a tuesday where it was nice and mellow with some live music and then thursday after the Alive at Five festivities downtown and both times I was nothing short of impressed.
Good beer selection, nice outdoor patio and on thursday night my group got the big sampler platter and i must say - simply amazing.
the staff is super friendly and effcient and I love that this bar is actually more locals than it is the downtown element. Â Looking forward to making this my go-to tavern!
YES. I went here for the first time last night. The two guys behind the bar were super friendly, and service was great. We had our drink order in and beers in front of us within a few minutes. And the atmosphere is just right - not a sports bar but sports on, music playing, dark but not too dark, loud but not too loud... the perfect place to have a beer and a conversation.
My dining companion had the reuben. He didn't say one thing or another about it, but he all but licked the plate so I assume it was okay! I had the sliders. The cheese was "cheddar," but definitely not real cheese. But I am totally willing to forgive them that. And the "tomato and onion topping" was tomatoes and onions chopped up in a dish. But that's okay, too. And the fries were awesome. Battered and hot and fresh-tasting.
If it weren't for the fact that burgers aren't health food and my credit limit isn't infinite, I'd be here every night.
I love this pub. It's a true pub. Everyone who works here is friendly and awesome. They're off the boat Irish- their drinks are strong and they work fast. I've never had a negative encounter with any staff here. Don't let Seamus the owner know it's your birthday, unless you enjoy being so happily plastered you can bearly stand.
This place is the best! :)
Great for lunch, dinner, or a few drinks after work! Every meal I have had there has been fantastic. Service is a little laid back, but overall pretty decent.
The chicken tipperary is a dish that is worth stopping in for!
A usual spot to celebrate birthdays after work or just wind down after a long week.
This place is more of a towny bar, but is still REALLY good. It's right around the corner from my house. I wish they had more beers on tap, but the selection they have is adequate.
Not too rowdy. They often have live music of some sort. Most of the time if you are there drinking for a while one of the bartenders (Mary, Seamus--the owner--etc.) will buy you a round. REAL nice folks.
Where this place REALLY shines, though, is in the food. GREAT food! Seriously, never had a bad experience. The Casey's Burger is really good, but my favorite is the Buffalo-Chicken Club. If you like Buffalo-Chicken, this is what you should get. The fries are also really great!
A personal favorite!
A solid bar outside of the buzz in downtown Stamford.
Casey's is on a side street near pretty much nothing else. Parking can be a little annoying, but it's ok.
Not exactly the type of bar to go watch a game as the TVs are not great and are a bit too high (old school hospital style).
Best nights are Thursday-Saturday.
Saturdays (starting around 7) during the summer this place is great.
Try the Irish breakfast if you are not on a diet.
I have been to Casey's Tavern a few times for different work happy hours and they have always been great. The service has been very attentive and quick even when I and the co-workers mob half of the establishment!
When the weather is nice there is a small back patio which is great to unwind on and when it is cold you can hang out inside and play darts or pool.
An all around good place for a low key happy hour!
