Sat in the "bar" side for 10 min without anyone acknowledging us.  The booths were dirty and wet as well as the floors.  YET, it smelled of bleach.  To say the least we left without ever being waited on.  This was a Saturday night at 6pm and it seemed like everyone was already drunk and partying.   WE WON"T be back.

Caspers post fire menu is a bit different but pretty true to the menu before their fire a couple years ago. Classic menu including steak, fish and chops. I always mix up the 4 or 5 steak options but prefer the mignon overall. Even on a Saturday night at 7 they can squeeze a table in for you. My overall review of Caspers is that you can get a really good meal at times or just average. They brought back the old school decor back as well. Doesn't look much different then what it was before they had the devastating fire that nearly burned the whole place down

I went to the reopened Caspers a few weeks ago. I had never heard of this place in my life. I ended up there for a birthday dinner (not me or my girlfriend) and was told it had recently reopened after being closed due to a fire.

Service was lousy. The waitress took to long to come back and take our order because we needed an extra couple of minutes to make our selections. I'm not talking five minutes, I'm talking more than 10. It was a weeknight. The place wasn't filled to capacity, and there was plenty of waitstaff in the house. They weren't overworked.

I had a steak dinner. Decent, but not special. I wouldn't call it a bargain, and I wouldn't call the price obscene. I have no incentive to order an expensive meal there again. If you're going to charge premium prices, your service had better be outstanding. It wasn't. If I end up there again on a weeknight I'm ordering the burger special if it's another Tuesday night. I'm not buying an expensive meal at this place again.

The waitress was slow to process our bill. We bought a ridiculously sized slice of carrot cake for dessert, at the low low price of $9,50, and the waitress had to be reminded to bring it back to us after she took it to box up the leftover portion.

Food wasn't bad, but I would never choose to go here again. The food wasn't great for the price, and the service certainly didn't meet the standards set by the menu prices for steak dinners.

Lots of hype, nothin' to back it up.

A family member, when it was his turn to pick the place, always brought us together here. The best thing I can say about Cherokee Sirloin Room is that they served a nice basket of bread: warm, with soft butter.  Otherwise, nothing impressive. Poor-quality, rubbery steaks. And Cherokee's "Signature Item" cheesy potatoes were half-cooked, crunchy cubes covered with a sheet of unchewable cheese-flavored latex one could use to patch a hole in a roof. Other dishes I sampled were not memorable, due to their blandness. BBQ ribs drowned in a ketchupy sauce come to mind. Salads populated with brown-edged iceberg lettuce, dehydrated carrot slivers.

Turn back, there is nothing for you at CRS.

Nothing too great about this place. Food was a bit overpriced, and it seemed kind of gloomy in there. Service was below average. The good thing is their all you can eat crab legs on Wednesdays.

High price bar food. Not bad, but not anything to write home about. Stick to the drinks and you will be ok.

It appears Thursday night is birthday night, always. If you are on the email you'll get a notice the week of your birthday for a free sirloin dinner that can only be used the Thurs of said bday, and at this location, even though I signed up in St. Paul. No problem, comes with soup or salad, and it's a generous green salad. I was disappointed when it came out medium, although very tender. I just wasn't in the mood to wait for another one. On the other hand Basil's 1# monstrosity comes out a perfect medium rare. Same delicious signature au gratin potatoes. You get a free dessert, too. I took a bite out of a strawberry shortcake. I had a couple of Sweets cupcakes waiting for me at home. Good, but I would not order it on its own. Very crowded for obvious reasons, which I was so glad to see. The owner comes around to every table, nice touch.

I live within walking distance of this place and so was really disappointed to find it to be so mediocre. You'll do much better by going to Doolittle's Grill which is right across the street. I should say as a caveat that in 10 years of living here, I've only been there once (about 2006). However, there's a reason I only went once. Cherokee's food was completely uninspiring and the decor was plain and old looking - like a supper club that was never nice at its best and now is about 10 years past  its prime.

Casper's Cherokee Sirloin Room is definitely a twin cities institution that all of my relatives, including myself have frequented quite a bit.  I have been here a few times for lunch and dinner.  On my recent visit, I had french onion soup which was to die for; creamy, thick, cheesy broth with Sweet onions.  The sourdough was fresh from the oven with equally fresh, creamy butter.  My main course, the Maytag blue cheese medallions were tender and juicy topped with rich blue cheese and vegetables that were fresh and crisp sauteed in olive oil and garlic; the garlic mashed potato's were fluffy and creamy with just the right amount of garlic.  Instead of dessert, I decided to have a grasshopper (chocolate mint liqueur) was rich, satisfying, and a sweet, fitting end to a wonderful dinner.  I also had a penaclotta which was equally smooth and sweet; it definitely would have come in handy on one of the 85 dig re whether that I had experienced.  The service was wonderful, the waitress very friendly and knowledgeable, answering any questions that you may have.  The place is just as I remember it.  So, for excellent steaks, ribs, seafood, desserts, and cocktails, Casper's Cherokee Sirloin Room cannot be beat.  Keep up the good work guy.!
