    What was I thinking?!?!?!

I could describe my experience in one word. G-R-O-S-S.

Went there one afternoon to grab a drink and some food before a movie.

Cheaply made drinks were super expensive. I think they follow a free recipe on a back of a bottle. Terrible. But wait they did have specials on Bush Light...

Our food arrived with a nasty black hair in it. It was bliss. As you might enjoy seeing the kitchen full of cooks, and wondering whos' is it. UNSANITARY.

The manager reversed that meal for us. Thanks, but no thanks. We left hungry and scarred for life.

This hole in a wall shouldn't be in business as far as I am concerned. If you want to have nasty drinks made by a teenager and have a hairy meal this is a place for you.

    What a dump.

Alright- just couldn't give them 3 stars, not happy with their margaritas which taste like a frothy smoothy. But if you are looking for the game and a beer- this is it . If you are a boxing fan they are usually always showing the fights- for a $20 cover. Will be packed but will be showing it- I live in the city and not too many places ever show the fights here. Great way to get you BF to go shopping with you- Champps.
Needs a good scrubbing and their staff could pay more attention to the customers.

What's really good here was their NE lobster bisque dip, comes with little pieces of bread for dipping and it's quite delicious!
I also split a BBQ burger with my friend, it was yummy but most likely because we were both craving for a burger.
the food is good but i'd rather go somewhere else next time!

I'm not a huge fan. It seems like the watering hole of the locals and they don't always necessarily reek of class... The food is definitely nothing special but if you're starving it's bearable. Some of the night time managers are cool.

I would NOT recommend this place when games are on, the people get pretty weird and it gets stinky and crowded. I would only come here after I get off work from the restaurant next door, since they're open late.... otherwise... nuh uh!

I prefer to sit at the bar most of the time for the "quicker service", however although the bartenders are really nice they really can't handle being busy, I wait as long for just a drink as I would wait for food at a table...

You can come at your own risk, your experience may or may not be better than my continuous disappointments!

We usually go on Mondays for their $5.99 burger special, but a few weeks ago, we went in to try their 25c wings. The sauce was so greasy and the wings themselves were so bony, they were inedible. Compound that with horrible service by both sever and manager, I just had to message them through Facebook; I was kind enough not to say anything bad on their timeline. Even my plastic glass leaked soda over my food; that's how skimpy their glasses are. To make a long story short, management sent me a $15 gift card. We used it yesterday and the aggravation was not worth the free meal. We arrived @7 and were told it would be a 15 minute wait. Ha! almost 30, plus the fact my husband counted 15 empty tables as we waited. So, we were finally seated and were told they are understaffed. In this day where people are clamoring for jobs, there should not be a shortage. A server in training shadowed by a veteran server took our order. Drinks were promptly served but were hard-pressed to find them again for refills. I have to admit, my guac burger was delicious and I always pay the buck extra for their yummy onion rings, but by the time we got our dessert (to go) and waited for the check, what should have been a quick meal, took 1-1/2 hours! We signed up for their new Rewards program but have no clue how to get the free burger upon sign-up. Like them on Facebook, and occasionally you will get freebies as well.

3 stars.  Read on, this will get weird.  So I live in Chicago, and sometimes I like going to suburbs to see what I'm missing, let's call it the the American Dream experience: 2.5 kids (one from China) SUV's, chains, malls, roads named after poets, office buildings, and an army of women sporting capri pants and the Queen's jewels.  I don't buy anything...ever.  Hang out at Barnes reading magazines etc.......But I do get hungry.  My GF majored in Food something or the other at Purdue, kinda health conscious. She shocked me with the, "Wanna go to California Pizza kitchen?"
"OK."  They gave us one of those sensor things that every chain has because people love highly processed food so much they are willing to wait.  We thought about it and left.  Then we talked about the pro's and con's of each restaurant for an additional hour before finally going to Champpppps, misspelled for jocks.
This place was packed.  I mean this is the kind of place that appeals to the masses.  The food is so blah that you don't realize the food is distantly related to TGIF's or Applebee's or Olive Garden or Ruby Tuesday's or you fill in the blank.  Long story short, the food won't show up on the Food Network.  The atmosphere won't win design awards.
Nothing on the menu deserves extra consideration or your money.  Really, it's just a decent place to sit down and take in AC while indulging on American cuisine prepared by Mexicans most likely using your SSN to achieve their American Dream.

We haven't been to Champs since 2005 and we always remembered how good their chicken nachos were...  My doctor was located not to far from here so we ate here from time to time when I was pregnant with my son. Don't recall any bad experiences..

We recently moved to the area and Saturday night we brought the kiddos here to watch the Margarito/Cotto fight ($10 cover for adults, kids free).  There are flat screens in every angle of view so no matter where you land a table you won't miss a thing.  We had already eaten dinner so we ordered a couple of appetizers, the sampler and the chips and queso.  The chicken wings were pretty good and the potato skins are huge and delicious! They cook the outsides until they are so crunchy they almost taste like potato chips, cheese sticks are ok.

I'm surprised at all the bad reviews as our experience was very good.  Our waitress, Vanessa, was attentive and never forgot anything.  I am just getting over a cold so I had a sore throat, no voice and kept ordering hot tea.  She must have brought me hot water 5 times or so along with countless packs of honey and lemon tea bags....  It was pretty packed and she was very nice and accommodating. Great job Vanessa!

We also went to the restroom before we left and they weren't dirty, just an fyi as I see a lot of reviews touching on that...  I did see tissue strewn about but that's trifling patrons who have no public bathroom etiquette..  I have seen much worst! Experience was great, we will definitely be back.

I'm surprised at all the bad reviews!

Whenever I'm in town, I always go to this Champps. I've tried most of the burgers and they've always been really solid (and they're super cheap on Mondays). The steak fries are great too.

The quesadilla was just ok, and now that I think about it, there was no black bean and corn salsa on it, which it was supposed to have, but still, it hit the spot at the time. Plus, appetizers were half off, I guess because of the late hour we were there.

My only complaint would be the noise level. If there's a game, it's WAY too loud.

The trivia on Thursday nights is fun, but they start around 11pm (sign says 10pm), which is way too late, if you ask me. 8pm would be much better, so I could get out of there by 10pm.

I like this sports bar becuase it's nice, not pricey and a good place to watch a game or a fight. the $5 cover charge is reasonable for the fights. The food could be either a hit or a miss. Had some very good entres there, also has some not so good ones there as well. I'll go there probably 2/5 times for a sporting even. The 3/5 i prefer to go to Bar Louie, it's smaller, but the food is so much better.

This Sports Bar isn't so bad for sports but the grill is terrible. Food and service is mediocre. But I'll give them 3 stars due to they air UFC events, $5 cover charge. It's aired in HD, most of their TVs will have the fight on. Good volume. This place isn't packed. I wouldn't recommend eating here unless you really desperate of a restaurant or you just want to enjoy UFC fights.

Champps sells food that's bad for you. Sometimes that's what you want.

But last time I was there, the host was standing there at the host stand making fun of this really heavy lady at the bar. Dude, you make money selling things like cheese fries and cheese cake and you have the nerve to make fun of a big booty?

I actually called the manager, who expected me to remember the name of the offending host.

Champs is what it is...alright. I've been here a few times and have never been blown away, but have never had a bad meal.
It's a more low key option that some of what Old Orchard has to offer, so it's good for that. It's perfect if you want to catch the game and have some apps, but it's a little over priced and never that lively.
Service is usually up in the air. I've never been there when they're packed- either your server stalks your table or they are unattentive. It's fairly hit or miss.
Bottom line, it's not bad. It has your sports bar staples: wings, burgers, etc..

I've read the previous reviews and I can see what they're saying but if you're looking for a great sports bar, you should stick to the city.

For a sports bar that's 1) in the suburbs  2) attached to a mall and 3) is also a family restaurant, I think they're doing a good job.  The happy hour is a great deal: 1/2 price apps and on Thursdays, $2 pints.  We got 4 delicious appetizers and 2 pints of beer all for ~$30 with tax and tip.  The waitress was attentive and there were multiple flat screens to watch the games from wherever you're sitting.

At full price, I probably wouldn't go back, but for the specials, it's an awesome deal

It's really weird how many awful reviews this place gets I've been in twice and had really yummy food (burgers kick ass) and friendly, quick service.

It's not the kind of place that wows you with its cache, it's just a chain bar and grill, sort of like TGI Fridays... but I've always had solid experiences here.

There is absolutely nothing fabulous about this "bar and grill". They have a huge menu, with lots of fried & greasy foods. There are tons of TVs, but if you're sitting by the window, you can't see any of them. The burgers (and veggie burger in my case) had a slice or two or pickles..and everything tasted bland. The fries were not crispy, their "southwestern" sauce was gross, and we only saw our server when we got our food and when we paid.

I know it is a restaurant in a mall, but I still expect some attempt at service and quality. Based on the amount of people there last night when I went with some friends, I thought Champps would be great. The place was packed and lively, so I started the meal in good spirits. I hate to spoil the ending, but I did not finish the meal in the same mood. First we were seated at a table with no views of any TV's so we asked if we could sit somewhere else since we wanted to watch the Cubs game. There was an empty table right by us with a view but the server still had to go ask if we could sit there. Fine whatever. We sit and it took a while for the waittress to come and take our order. She finally came to take our drink order and my friend ordered a Bass. I then order a Sam Adams which went something like this...

"Do you want a bottle or from the tap?"
    "Bottle please."
"Well, I think we only have Sam Adams Light in the bottle, do you want that?"
    "No, tap is fine then."
    "But we may have bottles."
"Ok well if you have it in a bottle, that's cool. If not tap is fine."
"So if we have a bottle, you want that, but if not, you want the tap?"
    "Right"
"And you don't want the Light?"
    "No"
"Ok I think I got it."

She then took the order from my friend's girl. She saw they had amoretto sours, so she ordered just an amoretto and Sprite. Again we see a puzzled look on the waittress and she said "I don't think we have that" but she took the order and eventually came back with the drinks. Third times the charm with puzzled looks because she came with our beers and said "We didn't have bottles so they put it in a glass but I don't know which one is which so hopefully you guys can tell them apart." I was ready to burst out laughing, but I held it in and took mine since I do know what my beloved Sam looks like. The experience pretty much progressed like this, the food was way too expensive for what you got, and I don't think I ever really need to go back there.

This place is weaksauce. The drinks themselves were weak, and $6.95 for a gin in and tonic in an Old Fashioned is ridiculous.

My pulled pork was fatty and tasteless. One of my dinner companions sent his entire order back because it was cold.

Ambiance is nil since it's in a mall, so what do you really expect? The bar has a couple of nice TVs for sports watching, however, and our waiter was attentive.

You can really do much better. Hell, I'd recommend the Pot Belly Sandwich Works two doors down instead.

They have a monster burger, and toooons of TVs, which is cool.

I got hit on one time by a male server here who tried to give me a bowl of soup and complemented me on my pants. Eek.

I joined 10 other folks at about 8:30PM or so to get a bite to eat. Everyone in the group had been here before, so we knew what to expect going in.

After being seated, we waited a while for a server to come by and take orders. After triple-confirming everyone's order, we didn't see him again for quite some time. It was at least 2 innings of the Sox game until he returned with half of our beverage order, having missed 3 orders because he hadn't yet "put them in"

A few more innings passed and our mystery server returned to check up on us. We asked to order some food, he took our orders, and we patiently waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. When we were finished waiting, we waited a bit longer.

I had the BBQ pork sliders. I was hungry and I like their BBQ sauce, so I enjoyed them. Looking back on them, they were pretty sad. Dry, barely-warm meat in miniscule quantity really didn't deliver, certainly not for $8.99.

I heard from my fellow diners that the nachos were great, the BBQ chop salad was good though a bit too spicy, and for some reason several people agreed that the chicken wings had an odd sweet flavor that reminded them of grape jelly. I'm glad I didn't order wings, because if they tasted anything remotely like grape jelly I'd send 'em back.

One meal was entered incorrectly, and the manager offered to make it right. Since we waited at least a half hour for our food, the offer was declined.

Its ok. The food is mediocre at best. The atmosphere is very nice though. It's a sports bar and they have plenty of tvs for everyone.

I have been here more than a few times in the past, but it was my last visit that compelled me to write.  The one thing I usually expect at chains is good, efficient service.  With two toddlers in our group of six, we needed our food to be brought out quickly.  With two salads and two sandwiches and a children's order of mac and cheese, you would expect that to happen.  Our food didn't come out until a full 30 minutes after we ordered.  Even with that, it was average at best.  The Cuban sandwich I ordered was actually innovative for a chain.  Instead of pork loin, they used BBQ pulled pork.  The wait wasn't definitely not worth the outcome.  Old Orchard offers some good choices to eat and if you are in a hurry, I would definitely recommend going elsewhere.

I had planned to go to Pequod's and Village Creamery but one of the party is a celiac so we had to go where a decent salad could be found.

We all had salads...very good, large salads, lots of toppings.  I wasn't pleased with the dressing that came with mine...I had a cobb salad and it had some kind of vinaigrette, balsamic with honey-mustard; I felt a creamy dressing would've been better, like a chunky bleu cheese or garlic-ranch...oh well. Have to say the blue cheese was the creamiest, most delicious bleu cheese I ever tasted, no dried out, hard nuggets of mold here!
The other food coming out looked great, big burgers, fat, greasy onion rings, chicken satay....
I felt the prices were a little high, maybe a dollar more than i expect, but portions are large.
The drinks were ok, we had mango pina coladas, maybe they couldn've had a little more coconut and rum.  My kid ordered a diet coke, got a regular coke-no big deal but if she wa sdiabetic I'd have been pissed off.
Our server was very attentive and this is for the guys... she was cute and wore a low cut  t-shirt.  Not that I'm into girls or anything, but it's hard not to notice someone's boobies hanging out when they bend over.  In fact, all the servers were attractive and petite...I bet this place doesn't hire anyone larger than a size 10.  Anyhow, she was a very good waitress, came back several times to check on us, so she got a nice tip.
It was pretty loud in there, and I've been having problems with fluid in my ears, so for me to hear that, well...IT WAS LOUD!

It's an ok place, if I wanted to see a game, I'd go here rather than a shitty place like Buffalo Wild Wings. The food is decent, not horrible. I'd probably go here again but it isn't my first choice.
