I love the food trucks. There may be as many as 10 parked outside the Aon building (east side) at lunch time.
Today I enjoyed the Tamale Spaceship which was very good but a little pricey (I guess they have 'overhead' when if comes to the City of Chicago).
I have never had a bad meal and have enjoyed a change of pace - falafel, lamb kabobs, meatballs or any of a number of interesting and tasty dishes.
These are not 'roach coaches' like you find at a construction site. These are fine restaurants on wheels.
Dare to go there.
Suzy's Samosas
Haute Sausage has teamed up with Suzy's Samosas and are selling the samosas (empanada like Indian snack) from their truck. I was so looking forward to these.
Today I got my chance. Bitter dissappointment. The fillings (one beef and one chicken) were good but the whole pastry dough outer shell was wet and greasy. It should be dry and snappy. It is either due to the fact that these were wrapped while hot and sweat or the oil was not hot enough when they were fried.
Wasn't impressed. Suzy should rethink how she makes and markets these snacks. Most indian stores do not serve samosas hot. Suzy should let them cool down before wrapping them for sale
