Quickly becoming one of my favorite lunch spots in the loop on those fancier days when I want to venture out of the office for something other than a sandwich or a salad.  They have a nice selection of crepes; the savory ones come with your choice of  a side and your choice of cheese. The sweet ones are simple and tasty.
The vibe in here is Franco Russian, and on Friday evenings there's an older man who plays the accordion. Also, they always have $5 martinis, making it a great happy hour option.
I enjoy: the Kathmandu, anything with tomatoes, the crepe rolls, and the borscht is quite tasty as well. Â Come here on a coffee date, for happy hour with coworkers, for lunch by yourself, for whatever really. It's lovely and the staff is pretty chill.
Don't get the sweet potato fries. You can also get the cheese removed from dishes, and if you get the bacon avocado rolls, you won't miss the cheese either. And! Â They have omelette crepes all the time, and Stash brand tea. Win.
This is an eclectic, kind of interesting after work stop with some strong martinis that are a bargain.  I have stopped here many times over the years and I guess according to other yelpers they've changed hands during that time but my experience has been consistent.  The crepes with salad are pretty good as a light dinner alternative and I have enjoyed the Russian accordian player who usually makes an appearance at holiday time.   The waitresses are fine, but be aware that with the unusual layout  (upside down "L")  they may not always see you . . . just get someone's attention at the bar and it will be handled. Â
At first I didn't  get the French menu/Russian owners but then I recalled they do have a history . . . need a few portraits of Katherine the Great or the Romanovs to beef up the kitschy decor!!
For the full experience sit in the back room, which has some cozy French Provincial couches and is out of the breezeway of the front door during the winter.
This place has run some groupons and other deals and as a result has become a pretty popular after 5 destination. Â Good for them! Â Â I enjoy it and it's a deal.
