If you are looking for classic Chicago deep-dish pizza, look no further! Giordano's is outstanding and will leave you feeling more than satisfied. This is hands-down the best deep dish pizza I have ever had the pleasure of ingesting and would readily return! Their deep dish is truly deep-dish and will not disappoint. Giordano's is wonderfully old-school Italian inside, with a very friendly atmosphere!
Review Source:This place was amazing when we visited Chicago a few years back. I don't remember a whole lot about the restaurant. However, I do remember that they take your orders before you are seated. Since it was a busy day during late afternoon, we only had to wait for about 30-45 minutes to be seated. The wait wasn't too bad since there is a bar to your right as soon as you walk in. Â We hung out there until we were called to be seated
When we sat down, I don't remember if we got appetizers or not.. I definitely recall the pizza. Man , Do they put a lot cheese in it, which I absolutely love. The whole pizza dish was huge (compare to our rinky dink pizza sizes here in PA), which I couldn't ever finish my second piece.. Normally, I can eat about 3-4 slices of pizza, but this was different.
The reason why I am giving Giordano's 4 of 5 stars is because I haven't been to any other Chicago Deep Dish Pizza Places besides Giordano's. Hopefully, I get another opportunity to head back to Chicago, but this time, probably by myself.
After a sub par experience the night before at Lou's, the gf and I decided to try the spot recommended by many of the locals we came across on our trip. Born and raised in California, I hold no merit in deciding what "true" Chicago pizza is... but Giordano's delivered beyond expectations.
Our appetizer: an order of their Parmesan Fries. (I'd skip these)
The pizza: a stuffed pepperoni and mushroom pie. This pizza, in all of its stuffed glory, was everything I imagined Chicago pizza to be... a thick, heavy pie full of cheese and flavorful toppings. The sauce was bold and savory, the crust... perfect in texture with just enough give on the bottom and flakiness on its edges.
Paired with a bottle of Fat Tire... this pie changed my life.
