The food was amazing.  I think the best guacamole I've ever had.  Very quaint and cute atmosphere.  I'd definitely go back again and would highly recommend it to others as well.

I booked a reservation and prix fixe menu via <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gdine.com&s=cb731bb689931cbd3ba7f75496e71209698a4a1742bebec3ff3dc18d1c84fbda" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.gdine.com</a>.  For the quality and amount of food we got it was an excellent offer.  And using gDine is incredibly easy and user friendly.

The only down-fall about Cantina 46 was that the staff had no clue what gDine was and no idea about the deal that I had purchased through the gDine website.  They honored the prix fixe menu that was on the gDine website although they did alter it a bit.   So all in all, the only bump in the road was the staff's awareness level of the promotion.

Most people have mentioned that they have stumbled upon this place, probably because of its location; I must have walked by this place a hundred times before noticing it! Glad we finally dined here though.

Located right off the bustling Mag Mile, this was a nice little getaway with some solid Mexican food options with small servings so you could also dine tapas style. I however opted to go for a full entree.

    Food

The taste of the salsa that comes with the free chips is always a solid indicator of the main food to come and I was impressed. The salsa was very flavorful with just the right amount of spice. Needless to say, we devoured those quickly.

The enchiladas rojas were really tasty, topped with chipotle sauce and Chihuahua cheese. I went with the chicken and they were really good. Sometimes shredded chicken can be really dry but not the case at Cantina. Loved how they had several filling options such as poblano peppers & cheese, spicy picadillo and even carne asada. Can't wait to be back to try out the other options!

    Service

We went after work on a Thursday night and it was pretty empty. Our waitress was extremely friendly and service was very fast. We liked that one of the managers was walking around & checked in with us to make sure everything was OK. They have really great weekly specials too. My husband ordered some $1 tacos and they were really good; they also have good drink specials.

    Ambiance

Dark and rustic, this place really does have the look and feel of a cantina. Small bar with a TV and ample seating including booths make this a great spot for a date or a medium-sized group. There is a really cute patio out front which I'm sure is great to sit out on during the warm months. Great location, especially when you need a food/drink break from shopping.

There was an hour wait at the pizza place a few doors down so we decided to check out this place. We walked in at 12:30 pm on a Saturday, prime lunch time and we were the only people in there. First the decor, Spanish? Where? Only the name. Certainly not the Doors music blasting throughout the small restaurant. We were thinking of ordering the quesadillas special for $10, then opted to split steak and chicken fajita combo. When it arrived, the waitress only brought one plate. I asked for another plate, she reached over the bar and grabbed me the smallest plate you can imagine. I jokingly said, am I on a diet? She looked at me strangely and I asked for a larger plate. The tortillas were the smallest I've seen. They only came with about 2 tablespoons of guacamole, same amount of sour cream and a tomato onion mix. I asked for salsa and it was unedible, very thick and tasted like BBQ sauce. Then the bill came and it was 23.00 for fajitas and 2 waters, not including tip. I wouldn't mind paying that except that we were still hungry. $28  later our table was ready down the street at the pizza place!
