Soupbox

Just soup
Soup takes up probably 2/3 of my diet. I. Love. Soup. I have been dying to try Soupbox for so long and I finally got the chance to. Sad to say, it did not live up to my expectations.

Sure there's a variety of ten soups but they're all typical soups, not even one unique must try flavor. You can mix two flavors to be creative but I was too hungry to risk screwing that up. They also offer salads and grilled cheese sandwiches. We ended up ordering the Mexican tortilla (good flavor, very thin, little veggies, no tortilla topping), the chicken dumpling (a little bland, again very thin, a few chicken and dumpling with hardly any veggies, room temperature), and the creamy rice in a breadbowl. Thankfully we got that one in a bread bowl because it was very creamy and would have been too rich without the soaked bread, it was delicious and had great flavor though. The bread is good. Hard exterior and soft chewy center, all perfect for soup soaking.

I just wasn't blown away and it was expensive. A small soup for $7 and a breadbowl for $9. Yikes.

Soupbox is one of my favorite places to eat lunch off campus. They have a variety of soups to choose from but my personal favorite is the creamy chicken and rice. You have the option to eat your soup out of a bread bowl but I like to get a normal cup. You also receive free bread with your order and can choose between wheat and sour dough. I've always had good service when going there and the employees are very friendly and accommodating. The only problem is that the restaurant is somewhat small and it can be hard to find somewhere to sit. Overall though it's a great lunch spot if you're on the go and I would recommend it to any soup fan!

Very good soup (mmm lobster bisque), and they'll let you try a taste before committing. Standard panini-type grilled cheese but you can choose your bread, cheese, and extras. I like sitting at the high top table on a cold winter's day people-watching out the window.
