If I could give them a negative star I would. Very much in love with Chipotle. I think I have been to most of them in the city. This is so poorly ran. Most days you will see 7-10 people standing around (figuring out how to make a burrito?) The last two times I was in at noon, they were out of chicken, black  beans and FORKS.....
Review Source:I swear to god if I can get through the line here in less then 10 mins I'd probrably blow someone.  I have been here like 10 times always hoping it will get better...the food is fine...service S U C K S........  Seriously  last night they were out of chicken, brown rice, pepper stir fry and cheese at the same time. That is like McDonalds being out of Big Macs....doesn't happen.  There is always ONE guy on the burrito line and like 5 people doing 'prep' work in the back or completely screwing off....The only reason I put up with it is because there are no other good places in the area.  Seriously if I was the owner of this spot I would chock somebody out.  Complete bone-heads....
Review Source:Wow, after looking at all the negative reviews of this place I guess I'm pretty lucky to have only had a couple bad experiences here. We eat Chipotle 2-3 times a week and are glad to have one in the neighborhood because there are not a lot of healthy choices and Chipotle is by far the healthiest. Except for maybe Subway and that's just a sandwich which I can probably make better at home.
Anyway, there have been occasions where the service has sucked and you need to almost grab the employee by the collar and tell them to calm the fuck down and listen to you as you dictate your order. They get so hung up on getting rid of the line they lose focus. Other than that we have had no cleanliness issues with this location. The only reason I'm not giving them a 5 star review is because they are SUPER STINGY with their guacamole! I swear, they must tell the staff their asses are fired if caught giving too much. For $1.85 you get just a tiny dollop. I hope this place improves and is able to survive because I like the food. Hopefully management reads yelp :)

I live in the neighborhood on Kedzie just around the corner. Â I think today might be the last time I actually eat here. Â This was my 5th visit I think and it was awful. Â The first time I was there right after opening food was decent, but it seems to get worse every visit now. Â I waited about 10 minutes for someone to finally help me (there were 2 people standing around that kept looking at me but wouldn't say anything) and someone in front of me with a complicated order. Â Anyway, I settle with that if the food is good, but when I bit into my steak burrito out came a giant chunk of fat. Â Ok, spit it out and try again. Â Another bite, a giant chunk of burnt grissle. Â On top of that, the rice is crunchy like it had been just sitting in the pan for hours. Â Time to go make a sandwich and throw the burrito out. Â Also time to rethink subsequent visits to this establishment. Â Other Chipotles are good but this one just can't seem to get it together. Â
Save yourself the chance of choking on a chunk of fat and choose somewhere else to eat. Â You will be glad you did.

THE WORST CHIPOTLE IN THE CITY.
The food is always cold, the meat undercooked, the dining room is always filthy, the trash bins overflowing, and trust me skip the fountain drinks. Â The drink area is always a filthy mess. Â I bet my life that the lemon wedges have salmonella.
Last time I was there I walked out without ordering.  I was driving east on Addison and drove around the back of the restaurant to go around and park because traffic was bad.  I saw this icky greasy looking asian guy behind the restaurant emptying a trash can into the dumpsters behind the restaurant. note: He was not wearing gloves. I parked and went in and stood waiting in a loooong line.  I see the same guy walk in from the back, go past the sink and head to the grill to check on some steak that HE was apparently grilling in between throwing out trash.  He did not wash his hands.  He grabs a spatula and starts scraping the grime off the grill, and then smacking/scraping  the spatula into the filthy trash can against the wall by the grill.  Then he uses the same spatula to flip the meat.  He places the meat on a dirty looking little wooden board and sets it down.  THEN he goes by the sink, DOES NOT WASH HIS HANDS AND PROCEEDS TO PULL SOME GLOVES ON, and then takes the meat to the back kitchen area where I presume he will chop it with his filthy hands inside the filthy gloves. CAN ANYONE SAY CROSS CONTAMMINATION !!!!!!!
This location is a filthy joke and it is just a matter of time before someone gets seriously sick and they close it down.

Chicken was burnt; Checkout was slow; Employees are too busy
putsying around, instead of PAYING attention, they're PLAYING attention.
We need more restaurants like Chipotle is this suffering neighborhood;
but placing kids to run this show is giving this location a horrible name...

Uggh where do I start? Very inconsistent service. Sometimes they give you a spoonful of rice and beans. Other times they give better portions. Thats upsetting more than anything. All I'm asking for is consistency.
Also on more than one occasion the employees are horsing around and totally unprofessional. I mean come on, you're on the clock. Can't you wait til your shift is over? I understand having fun with your co workers, but when it becomes unprofessional it doesn't look good.
Bottom line, the chipotle on elston is much better. Good portions, fast service, friendly/professional staff. I enjoy chipotle but I will make the further trip down elston. Do yourself a favor and skip this location.
Worst...Chipotle...location...ever. Â It's a shame, really, because the neighborhood sure could use good restaurants of all types and price points. Â This isn't one. Â Seems like every time we are there, the place is understaffed and there is some type of problem as a result. Â A spill on the floor. Â Overflow in the drink area. Â Trash hasn't been emptied. Â Run out of something. Â Got so yanked around there one day, and so annoyed, that I went online and sent a complaint email to Chipotle. Â Received a terse "sorry we value customer service" response in return. Â Insincere and no real indication that my business is valued or that they would do anything to improve.
Review Source:I rarely eat at chain restaurants let alone write reviews for them but this Chipotle is the exception to both rules. I wanted to take a moment to sing the praises of this particular location because the staff is always friendly and consistently fast and accurate. They can get frequently jammed up due to the location (especially those with large families with complicated orders which can slow everything down) and the staff handles it very well. The restaurant is always clean and organized. Lookin' good, Chipotle!

Meh. Granted, as far as Chipotle's go, it's not the greatest. I think it's just that the service always seems really rushed, literally throwing things into my burrito bowl. And the contents are always cold. I think since it's a new location they should probably work out the problems before they start loosing customers.
Review Source:I agree with all the bad reviews. Bad service!!! Had to wait for steak to be cooked and it was still pink in the middle. But the worst part was that the steak burrito bowl did not follow the same recipe as the 300 other burrito bowls I've eaten. Too spicy and some taste I can't describe. They're a chipotle in name only.
Review Source:They seem to cleaned up their act. Very hospitable and clean. I gave it one more chance. Workers were cleaning the dining room. All was clean. Food was good. The decor is unlike no other Chipotle. It almost looks haphazard and unfinished. A photo or two and a splash of color would help. The plain wood wall with holes in it just doesn't look right.

I've been to this Chipolte 4 times prior to today and I must say that its the WORST Chipolte restaurant I have been to and I really hope the owners consider cleaning house and start from scratch.
1st experience - The food had absolutely no flavor. When I say no flavor, I mean, nothing!
2nd experience - I received the worst looking burrito bowl, I felt like I was back in elementary schol when the ghettofied lunch lady just slapped the food on my tray. (I'M BACK IN COUNCILING)
3-4 Experience - Same story.
Today I walked in yet again ( don't ask me why I even went back) and looked at the food. The rice looked like its been sitting there since Thanksgiving, the chicken was burnt and the steak under cooked. Needless to say, I just walked out. I GIVE UP!
I never thought u can get Chipotle wrong, but obviously they found a way to be good at it.

If you live in my neighborhood, you'll understand why I was so excited when Chipotle was opening up in this location. I finally go here with a friend to grab a burrito for lunch today and will NEVER be back again. After getting my food, I tear into the burrito. Half way through i snag a long course uber blonde hair and pull it out with my fork. After staring at it in digust I approach the cashier to let her know. She goes back into the back and comes back and says "we don't have anyone who works here with hair like that." Seriously? Are you actually accusing me that it was MY hair deep in the guts of my burrito. After the shift supervisor comes out and asks me "What do you want?..................(his answer was met with a silent  look of disbelief)............ a new burrito?............. a refund?" SERIOUSLY? your asking me what I want? How bout NO HAIRS IN MY BURRITOS. And your employees to wear beard nets if your going to be serving food. Gross. Like I will ever choke down a burrito from this location again. Â
If you go, hope that you don't have strangers hair in your burrito.

So I love Chipotle and am super excited for them to come to the neighborhood. I am a horrible reviewer because yes, I plan to go there tonight, yet I struggled to even give them 3 stars. And I mean struggled.
I have been there 4 times now and 3 of the 4 times I left with a heavy sigh. Now I understand it is newer but its been about a month, its not a new concept, its a chain, so why they haven't getting their ish together yet is beyond me.
1st experience- ran out of fajita veggies. Yeah ok.
2nd - sloppy messy mess of a burrito maker. Again, new, ok ok.
3rd - Success!!! No complaints
4th - ran out of white rice.
I'm sorry but did you read that? Rice. You know, that staple that is in pretty much every single thing they serve. I mean seriously. It was 2pm on a Friday afternoon with no rush or line. And its a 15 minute wait for rice? That means you didn't even start making it till it was out.
I have to say, when I crave fake Mexican food I crave Chipotle, and I love it. But the eternity it took for them to open the doors about matches the eternity its taking them to become a functioning establishment.
Lets hope 5th time is a charm.
Yay!!!!! Â Chipotle comes to Avondale/Albany Park! Â Whooooo-hooooo!!!!

This is by the Chase bank just north of the Jewel in the same big shopping center by Elston & Addison. Â It just recently opened and boy am I honored to be the first to review them. Â ;-) Â Basically if you know other Chipotle's you know what to expect. Â This one does have some wood panelling on one wall which is a nice look. Â Plus the cashier buzzes you in to use the rest room, which is kind of cool and they have those neat strong XLERATOR hand dryers for those of you like me who are thrilled by simple things. Â My husband and I went this eve and we ate at the tables that are to the right as you enter, which was nice because the lighting was a little less bright there. Â I wanted to photograph it, but it didn't look as cool in the photo. Â
OK so as far as food, the only thing that I was surprised about is they have a choice of brown or white rice which is cool. Â Also they gave a decent portion for the guacamole which was good too. Â We each got chicken burrito bowls, which for the uninitiated is rice, meat, and toppings in a bowl rather than a burrito shell. Â The chicken is always marinated and tasty. Â The guacamole is extra so our two chicken bowls w/2 guacamole's on top was $17.71.
We are big Chipotle fans because of their buying of much more ethically raised meat. Â I have a video clip about that in one of my other Chipotle reviews. Â
One very nice guy who lives nearby told me once I should go to Arun's for Thai because it's in our area. Â Not only can I not afford Arun's, but even if that weren't an issue, I just don't want to go and eat at a place that is that expensive, on principle. Â Chipotle coming to my neighborhood, now THAT is something I am happy to support! Â We'll definitely be back. Â Welcome to the neighborhood Chipotle!!!!!!!!!
