Service was slow and I'm not gonna lie (patiently still waiting for my refill water) I ate the cheese enchiladas and they were bland not to mention topped with what tasted like canned tomato sauce... No seasoning at ALL. I also had the app bean dip. I only taste the melted cheese they put on top. No excuse for Bad Service when your ridiculously SLOW !!! I would not be back.

Love the food here! Had a friend who worked here so we stopped by while in Savannah. The service was great, but it was a bit pricey from other Mexican restaurants.

This restaurant is "OK", food is great, but its missing something special. When I feel like coming here for a drink, its almost not enjoyable to have more than one, because the atmosphere is mixed, from a fine dining crowd to a younger crowd. Food is good though.

Ok so the food was MEH! I probably wouldn't go back for the food. The chips were blah, even the salsa was blah (I know how can you ruin salsa?!?) I had a combo of chile relleno and chicken enchilada.... blah. But man..... THEY HAVE AMAZING MARGARITAS! with a great happy hour special Monday through thursday its 3.99 drinks and 7.99 corona-margarita (the bowls with the coronita in them) they are really good! I would definitly recomend the mango margarita on the rocks or the frozen strawberry margarita. Both very refreshing for this is spring/summer heat.

Cheap & fast lunch with a newer, clean atmosphere, friendly staff and convenient location, if you're wandering around the tourist area.

This is not fresh, authentic Mexican cuisine, okay? It's just that common plate of reheated refried beans, rice, that typical taco and enchilada-mediocre fare, but it's good for what it is, hot, plentiful and it comes to the table fast with a choice of chicken or ground beef and lots of chips & tasty salsa.

Seating is mostly tables and chairs by the windows with one long wall length booth in back. In more balmy weather, sit out back by the water fountain that separates Cilantros from Ruth's Chris and enjoy a margarita or cold beer. Just go & enjoy a cheap lunch special!

Both the service and the food at this place was forgettable. The other thing that really turned me off is that chips and salsa cost EXTRA if you order more than one dish. How much does chips and salsa really cost them to offer? They might as well just charge in the first place for it. If you insist on coming here, go to one of the visitor's booths first and pick up their flyer - it'll get you a free margarita.

I enjoyed the food a bit considering there are few Mexican food options in this area of Savannah. This is a great place to watch a football game and get together with acquaintances. The food is fresh and worth the price. If you go to any of the hotels they have coupons in the flier for Cilantro's by the concierge and that will save you 5 dollars off of a thirty dollar tab or give you a free margarita with a meal purchase. This place is worth it and the service is great. They were very accommodating waiters and authentically from Mexico City.

When we arrived in Savannah, we were pretty hungry so we went to this place because it was closeby our hotel. When we walked in, there was no host or hostess to greet us or seat us. We weren't sure whether to seat ourselves. Finally a waitress carrying a basket of chips sat us and handed us the chips in her hands. It then took us a good half hour before anyone came by to take our order. We nearly finished our chips and almost decided to leave. This was around 4pm when it wasn't that busy. Our food wasn't that great and came with no rice or beans or anything. Only time we saw our waiter again was when we paid the check. Needless to say we wished we had chosen a better first meal in Savannah. Don't make the same mistake.

Arriving in Savannah we parked next to the river (close to our hotel) and browsed restaurants on our Yelp App. Mexican food in Georgia? Ah, why not!

We started with the chips and salsa - so far so good - hard to mess that up.

We got some drinks, of course! - She had a mimosa and I had a beer. The waiter recommended the 32oz beer for only $4.99 (Happy Hour?) I said sure! He brought her mimosa and my TANK of beer. This thing was HUGE. They claim to have the COLDEST beer in town and on such a cold day - and long drive - the frosty top of my beer was extremely welcomed!

We then ordered the coriqueso - on the recommendation of the waiter. AWESOME! At first bite I was a bit undecided. It takes that second, maybe third bite to say: "WOW, this is awesome!"  We then tried the guacamole dip. It was great! Fresh, smooth, tasty.

On a tight time constraint - with so much to do and such little time - we wrapped it up and asked for the bill.

The service was great. The server was actually from Miami and we had a great conversation about "home". He missed it and was on his way down for the holidays.

The kicker came when I was only half done with my beer. He said, "Want a to go cup for that?" I laughed a little and said TO GO? SURE! He educated me on Savannah's open container law. I chugged my beer in the streets as we walked down River Street - the freezing weather keeping my beer nice and cold!

I ordered Fajita and shrimp Quesadilla and kid chicken figures for the 5 year old when was really good.

    Pros food decent
cons bad service- she was down M.I.A and sassy on top of all that, I thought she was n

I love the bar because it has that snow/ice strip where you keep your drinks cold. The food/drinks are a little over priced for mexican in Savannah, but the outside seating is lovely and the service is always great.

Despite the poor reviews our son took us here. The happy hour margaritas were a great price and had some kick not to mention tasty.
The food was very good for the four of us and reasonably priced. We enjoyed sitting on the patio and the service was not fantastic but it wasn't bad either.
    I would certainly go again.

Cilantro's was decent Mexican. It certainly wasn't bad, and was a great location, but it's not going to blow anyone's socks off.

I had the burro gordo, which is a pork burrito. The pork is soaked in beer before being cooked, which I suppose fits with the debauchery theme of Savannah but doesn't really impart much flavor. It really could have used some more seasoning.

The mango margarita they had was just mango nectar and tequila as far as I could tell. I ordered it frozen, but it there was not that slushy quality I expect in a frozen margarita - almost as if they had started to make it on the rocks and then left out the ice. It did have a strong flavor, and I do like mango, but I think I would have preferred one of their other margaritas.

The free salsa lived up to the restaurant name - plenty of Cilantro, just the way I like it. We got an order of queso dip also, which was smooth and creamy the way queso should be. The only downside is that you get *one* basket of chips for free - you don't even get an extra basket with the queso - and if you want more chips it's an extra $2. I know restaurant's have thin margins but that was a bit much for me.

The service was overall fine - they were quick and polite. The restaurant ambiance was also fine - modern but with a Mexican flair. I just wish the food had more flavor and the prices were more reasonable.

This place is not too shabby. We stopped in to just have a quick beer and chips and ended up getting steak fajitas and were able to share them between two people (only had to ask for more tortillas) and the price was only $9.99. They did have the fajitas for two but that came with all of the meats and no substitutions were allowed plus we only wanted a small course to get food in our stomach. Felipe was our server and did a great job and the food was tasty.

Service was good.  Great outdoor seating.  But the food tasted and appeared so prefabricated that I would have been better off getting a frozen Mexican dinner from the grocer and sit out on my own patio with a jar of El Paso or Tack Bell jarred salsa and generic yellow corn chips....no bueno!

Cilantro's Grill is a good place to go if you're simply trying to fulfill your Mexican fix over a quick lunch. The food is far from the best, yet edible. Cilantro's is slightly over-priced for 1) what you're getting and 2) being a Mexican joint. Worst of all, they charge for chips and salsa after your first free round. Bummer!

Food was TERRIBLE!  And I am by no means a picky eater, but it was the only place without a line or a wait...On St Patricks Day even!!!  We should have known why...The prices are cheap, but you get what you pay for.  This place would be good if you're really hungry and don't want to pay that much money, but that's about it.  Although you may still leave hungry since we didn't even finish our meals because it was so bad.

The food wasn't good and the service was horrible. A person in our party ordered a pitcher of beer and watched the bartender pour a much cheaper pitcher and deliver it to us without saying anything. When confronted with this, the waiter was indigent and couldn't believe that we called him on it.  We will NEVER go to this place again.

We were headed to Five Guys for lunch. seen this place and decided to give it a try.  DON'T DO IT. repeat DON'T DO IT. The service was terrible, the food worse. Ordered ground beef nachos,  the plate came and was a plate of chips with a ground beef with meat filler slapped on it. No cheese, no tomatoes, no green onions. It was freakin nasty. Wouldn't touch it!  The ice tea had no ice, REALLY. There were five in our party, not one meal was decent. called the manager over, he gave me half off. So basically I paid $30.00 for chips and drinks. I should have just walked out.   Cannot give any stars for this disaster.

Not bad at all! Nice for an easy, relatively quick lunch.

The prices were definitely reasonable for being in the tourist part of Savannah and the food was pretty good. Nothing spectacular but I wouldn't mind going there again if I happened to be walking by andw as hungry.

Cilantro is not so cilantro accommodating. The guac is terrible. Most food items you have to request to even have "cilantro" and service isn't very good. Definitely the worst mexican food i'd had in Savannah. Go to Juarez.

Ahhh! Food was fine, they are right about not having much flavor. Portions are good, wait staff warmed up to us, great music..  Overall it was a good time ;)

Simple and good mexican food! I dined here with a companion and we both enjoyed our meals. I had the chicken nachos as my appetizer and chicken soup as the entree. My food came out super fast, hot, and exactly as ordered. I never once had to ask for a refill and had an overall enjoyable experience. What I will say is this - if you're looking for super spicy food or creative mexican dishes, this isn't the place. If you're looking for generic, know what to expect dishes, go for it it. The fact that there were no surprises is what would make me a repeat customer at this place.

I stopped in for a couple tacos after taking the Ghost Tour - I was dressed very casually and sat at the bar - seemed like I got my food within minutes of ordering it - good prices and would definitely recommend and/or go back there.

The only reason that this place gets 2 stars instead of one is they have Modelo on tap. The food is mediocre at best and definitely not worth what we paid. Margaritas were ok, they were ridiculously cheap so we got what we paid for with those. My biggest issue is that I ordered a cheese steak, which (according to the menu) comes with lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. I asked for no lettuce, and I got nothing else. When I requested the sour cream, they charged me for it! My boyfriend ordered the tacos carnitas, and we were also charged for his cilantro and pico de gallo, which are supposed to come with his meal. This place reminds me of a Mexican-themed cafeteria. IF I go back, it will be for drinks and chips and salsa.

I had a very mixed experience. They serve beers in up to 32 oz. mugs which makes it a fun place for drinks. We ordered chicken quesadillas (which are easy enough) but ours was horrible. It literally came out in a puddle, not sure what it was. The chicken was clearly not fresh (it looked like cat food) and the cheese was awful. I would go again for their drinks, but I would never consider getting food there again.

Order the Mexican guacamole!!! It isn' on the menu, but you are in for a treat. Fresh avocados, tomatoes, onion, cilantro, peppers, and lime made to order and mixed into a little bowl of heaven. This alone took the restaurant from a 4 to a 5. Overall, good prices, good service, and good food. They could use a little more lighting and background music for those of us that were dining outside, but I can't take away any stars - the Mexican guacamole was just too perfect.

I liked this place! The food was good! I had the "Chicken Soup", Pico De Guyo, a Red /Pink Margarita and a Chicken & Cheese Fajita! The prices were reasonable! I'd go back! I like the locations and the ambiance! The staff was friendly and the patrons were cool too! I liked the Bar set-up and the view! Cool place for a date too!

We found this place as an alternative to the expensive places on River St. for St. Patrick's Day weekend.  Decent Mexican food, but nothing distinctive from any other Mexican place in any other town.  The salsa was tasty, if a bit watery.  My strawberry margarita was not good, it looked and tasted like it just had a cup of thick strawberry syrup dumped in it.  Prices were reasonable and our server was very nice.  I'd go back, but get a regular margarita next time.

Meh. The food was not that great here.

I had a combo platter with a burrito, an enchilada and a chile relleno. I ordered chicken enchilada, beef burrito, pork chili relleno. When it came out it was all chicken. Rickum sickum! It was too much of an effort to send it back, tho, so I rolled with it.

Unfortunately I had too much liquid and had to use the facilities. The bathroom was filthy. I had to tell the server to inform management so they could clean it up. (A job I would not relish. People are pigs!).

Are you kidding me?  We only went here beacuse wait times were outrageous at Moon River - I can not believe this place has any good reviews it is discusting!  Not authentic, everything is pre-made and the staff is horrible.   They messed up my order and it took them forever to check on us - so I did not even eat it.  When the bill came they did not even comp it.   The meat was so dry, the chips were not fresh and the sauces were either bland or too spicy.  GROSS - just because the place is nice inside does not mean the food taste good.  Save your money and do not go here.  Also, not kid friendly at all - they put a piping HOT plate down right in front of my son.

I like the atmosphere...really is the nicest most presentable Mexican food place in Savannah.

Chips and Salsa is the best in town.  Chunky salsa with lots of cilantro hence the name.  The chips were very fresh and crispy.

Ordered the enchilada's platter #1 which comes with a beef taco, two enchilada's and your choice of rice or beans.  It was good...very standard meal served at all mexican restaurants.

This is about the best Mexican food place in Savannah.   I will go back.

The atmosphere of Cilantro is nice-- It's a great place to sit and people watch everyone walking by on Bay St. while noshing on fresh chips and salsa. Missed happy hour but even without it draft beers were only $2.99! That was a plus. However when it came to dinner, my carne asada was a total disaster. It first came out completely overcooked and tough as nails. Granted, I did't tell them how I'd like it cooked, but when they brought me a new one that was med-rare it was still lacking flavor and very tough. The menu has a good variety of typical Mexican dishes and the inside is cleaner and more modern than your typical place, but I honestly can't rave about the food.

I normally wouldn't go downtown for Mexican but I got a $50 gift certificate for $25 through the radio station.  Let me tell you, it is not easy ordering $50 worth of Mexican for 2 people.  We took big boxes home and had a pretty good buzz going.  Prices are very reasonable and our food was very good.  I was pleasantly surprised.

Happy Hour is 4-7 so they had margaritas for 1.99, I tried all three flavors and as usual liked the lime best.  The Texas Fajita Nachos were fantastic and easily enough food for both of us.  But still had to use up the $50.  Next up was the Burittos Deluxe and Seafood Chimichanga.  Tried a couple of bites and had the rest boxed up.  The burritos were nothing special but my seafood chimichanga was great.  I would def order again.  For dessert the cheesecake chimi was yummy but the fried ice cream was off the hook.  We took most of that home too.

My suggestion is to def check this place out if you are on a budget and in the mood for Mex esp downtown.  You can sit in a nice restaurant without eating fast food for pretty much the same price.  The staff was very attentive and nice too.
