BEWARE VERY BAD SERVICE ISSUE'S, AND THEY PUT 18% ON TO THE BILL SO THE SERVERS DON'T CARE. When we arrived tonight we told the server that it was my son inlaws birthday and at the end please bring him a chocolate souflee with a candle. Well we got our first course and no bread or oilive oil like some other tables, I never got a water glass and since they asked what I was drinking and I replied water you would think they would have given it to me. The whole night we had to stop servers and ask for water or ice tea. At the end we told the server to bring the check signaling the end since we told him the souflee was a suprise, and the moron brought us the bill, and never served the souflee, then he has the audacity to argue with me when I was telling the owner. For those jewish people that eat dairy out, STAY AWAY!!! they think they can treat you any way they want to. Go to Spris on Lincoln Rd, where the food , service and even the prices are much better. Yes even with the high rent on Lincoln Rd spris has better prices, and the service is perfect. So in the end they ruined a birthday suprise. I will never go back and advise others to do the same.
Review Source:I went to Cine Citta Caffe last night for the first time.
The place is modern and the atmosphere at the beginning of the meal was not too bad. Â The seats are comfortable and everything seems clean.
There was a little confusion about our reservation when we arrived, but they were quick to accommodate us. Â
The bread was good as was the oil that they give you with it. All the appetizers came out quickly. Â The Cine Citta salad was great and so was the fried mozzarella.
As it started to become later in the evening the place started to fill up and the service started to slow down: Â Our water was not being filled up, I personally had to go to the counter and fill it up (more than once), and entrees were taking very long to come out.
The fish was was decent - it's not too hard to find better. Â The homemade pasta was good, but the pizza was nothing special: it was bland and lacked taste.
At the end of the night it seems as if we were eating in a cafeteria rather than a restaurant: Long tables, very loud, no service, and extra plates on the table.
I give it 2/5 - One star for the bread and appetizers, and one for the pasta.
It lost it's other 3 stars on: Service, Atmosphere, and the bland fish and pasta.
Will try not to visit again.
By the way, they apologized for the slow service and said that it was busy because of Sukkot and they are always understaffed during the holidays - so HIRE someone!
I have been a long time customer of Cine Citta, the pizza is delicious, probably the best kosher pizza in the US, tastes nearly as good as the non-kosher pizza in Italy.
Now that said, I went there last week with the whole family and to our dismay we found a large cockroach in the dipping oil that they bring with the bread. We were shocked and disgusted. The waiter said that it happens sometimes and brought a new oil container. Nothing more than that.
We paid for the dinner in full and no serious apology. My family refuses to ever go back there. Very sad and extremely disgusting.
Although I previously wrote a glowing review of this restaurant, I am sad to say that since then, Cinecitta has turned into quite the disappointment. Â As I previously mentioned, one of the waiters has an unpleasant disposition, and comes across as rude. Â Unfortunately you can no longer avoid rude employees by avoiding that waiter's section. Â After reading Jonathan R's review from 6/24/11, I wouldn't be surprised if the waiter who reacted so nonchalantly to the cockroach in the oil is the sephardic/middle eastern looking waiter. Â He has an attitude and has no idea how to treat regular customers. Â
Although we previously used to spend $80+ there EVERY motzi shabbos (a party of 2), we will not be returning any time soon. Â Last night we arrived and requested a small booth. Â Although there were numerous open tables, sephardic/middle eastern guy suggested we take either the table that was practically in the hallway on the way to the bathrooms, or instead, we should sit at a table for two against the wall where everyone was crowded around. Â Then some new Maitre'D type tall guy with glasses appears, and sees that we are not satisfied. Â For a second, I thought he genuinely was going to find us a table, when he promised to help us out. Â Even after acknowledging we were regulars, he comes up with the laughable suggestion that we should sit at a table for two that was on the end, and practically in the netilas yadayim sink! Â laughable! Â
We ended up leaving and having a wonderful dinner elsewhere. Â The owner should seriously re-evaluate some of the people working at this restaurant or they will be out of business in no time. Â Several weeks ago when we went there, we were the ONLY table in the restaurant at 10pm on motzi shabbos! Â While we USED to be regular business that they could count on in this tough economy, the horrible service and attitude of the new maitre'd and the waiters has us refusing to go back. Â AVOID!!!!
This is the best kosher dairy restaurant in South Florida, hands down. Â Besides the very cool interior, they make their pastas from scratch daily. Â The owners are from Tunisia and the place definitely has a very cool, Sephardic edge to it. Â You're not going to get your typical, tasteless Ashkanazi fare here. Â The food is fabulous, try the fettuccine alfredo, especially. Â Can't get enough, it's addictive!
Review Source:Cine Citta is a gorgeous, sleek Italian restaurant located in the business district of Surfside. The dishes are a bit pricey, and I have yet to decide whether they worth the extra bucks.
I'm not usually one for Italian food; however, Cine Citta can serve up some great kosher pasta! My friends and I shared the fettuccine tre funghi at the suggestion of our waiter. We had ideas of our own at first, but it turned out they had run out of three of their key sauces, so we were somewhat forced into this option. Thankfully it turned out to be quite delicious... you can never go wrong with cream sauce and mushrooms on your pasta. We also shared the vegetarian pizza. It was pretty good, but I'd say their pasta is more on point. Being 3 semi-hungry people we only wanted to share 2 plates. This proved to put us in a pinch because they have a sharing charge of $8... so to alleviate that we ordered an apple tart for dessert. This was the most disappointing part of the meal! For an apple tart it was entirely too heavy on flaky pastry dough and lacking in vital apple slices. We sent it back, never to be seen again.
The service is pretty stellar. They aren't the staff to fawn over you, but they definitely get things done. I can appreciate this quality in them. Our waiter was honest and helpful.
Overall, Cine Citta Cafe has a great ambiance... and is a great option for those looking for a higher end kosher meal. It was a decent experience, but I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. When I'm paying a pretty penny for my meal I expect everything to be amazing.
Had a nice blackened tuna dish (came with mashed taters) at this local kosher italian restaurant. Â The decor is crazy modern - all white, geometric lines, sofa-padded chairs, dim lighting. Â Service was pretty good - the host gave us complimentary quarters for the meter, which I thought was super nice. Â All in all, I'd recommend this to my kosher-eating friends.
