Recently relocated to Providence RI from the West Coast and Circe is our "go to" place! My husband has lunch here with biz associates several times a week. We go for dinner, just the two of us, or with friends...and the Sunday Brunch rocks! Great spot...cool decor...and just all around "great"...Carlo and his staff are wonderful. They're closed for summer vaca for 2 weeks...I think I will be having "withdrawals"...
Review Source:Circe is more of a 3.5, but I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt.
I grabbed a pre-show dinner here prior to walking over to PPAC. They offer free valet parking and let me keep my car there during the show. It's a pretty short walk to & from the theater, and I'd recommend it over paying for parking.
The bar was crowded with the after work crowd, i.e. a bunch of douchey looking yuppies trying to seem impressive and get into each others' pants. The restaurant wasn't crowded at all.
Our server was pleasant, but certainly not top notch. The drink menu was fairly interesting, but doesn't hold a candle to the types of cocktails you can get at The Dorrance.
We enjoyed a cheese board, and the entrees were good. The monkfish dish was actually exceptional; I'd highly recommend it if you're craving a rich, pasta-based meal. The owner spoke with us for a few minutes after we'd finished. It was nice to see him taking an interest in feedback from his patrons. He mentioned that the restaurant was going to be making some changes/improvements soon.
Circe didn't blow me away, but I'd definitely go back and suggest you give it a shot.
