We really wanted to like this place, but I have to say it was just so-so. We went for dinner on Saturday night, and had the place to ourselves for most of our evening, so that was nice. It is quite small inside, so you definitely don't have a lot of privacy at your table, but I loved the casual atmosphere. Napkins/silverware on the table-nice touch especially for parents! We started out with the spinach/artichoke dip, which was good, but maybe not fresh as it definitely tasted reheated-temp was not consistent throughout. I had a dinner salad which was good and my husband had the clam chowder which seemed like a big portion of soup! My daughter had a ham and cheese sandwich which was good but then our entrees are were things started to fall flat. My husband's steak just tasted....off. We eat local/organic/sustainably and buy grass-fed beef all the time, so these flavors are not new to us, however, the steak just tasted funky. Not sure if it was frozen and reheated or what, but something wasn't right. The steak itself and the sides that accompanied it were not seasoned well either. My pasta dish of chicken and spinach with cavatappi pasta was just okay, I have had better. When other tables did arrive, I heard someone try to order this same dish, but the server told them they were "out" of it for the evening. It seemed odd to me that I had just ordered that same dish, no one else came into the restaurant, yet they were suddenly out of this item. Nonetheless, we weren't impressed enough to return, which is unfortunate because I do support their cause and want them to succeed. The flavors just were not there for us. I imagine brunch/lunch could be better, but there are too many places in the city for us to go back again.
Review Source:We live right around the corner and recently discovered City Farms. Â We have already made it one of our regular places. Â We like it because it has a diverse menu - I can get a salad, and my husband can get a fancy steak dish (we don't both have to be in the mood for the same thing), its not too pricey (not cheap, but not crazy either) and the food is really good. Â I'm a big fan of the french onion soup and chicken pot pie. Â Definitely worth a try.
