I just graduated high school and went once during my junior year and again this past year. K-town has changed so much. Originally it was a nice place to go dancing and hang with friends. Now it is dirty and disgusting. There is nothing but grinding, the girls wear skimpy little clothing that could practically be swimsuits. The ages range from about 15 to 18. When dancing with someone they are continually trying to get their hands anywhere under your clothing they can get. It is disturbing and has become known at least around my area as "dirty". It has gotten a bad reputation but that is only because of the type of dancing and what people are doing and wearing. If they cleaned it up or made a dress code and these people could learn to respect themselves and the people around them, this would be a wonderful place.
Review Source:Sooo... this place is hilarious! And when I say "hilarious", secretly I'm jealous on the inside that this place wasn't available when I was a teenager.
Here's the lowdown: My sister's in highschool, and she heard of this elusive place through a friend. Basically, it's a club SPECIFICALLY FOR HIGHSCHOOLERS. Omg. Can you imagine all of those hormones raging, concentrated in one small space?
Okay, granted I've personally never been inside. But I'm writing this review because: 1. How many highschoolers actually yelp, right? Â 2. My sister goes here, so I know it's happenin' for this age group. and 3. I'm still jealous (but not secretly anymore) that this didn't exist when I was in high school.
To frame this in perspective, I went to Catholic grade/highschools where you had to be a certain amount of inches away from the other person you were dancing with. I mean, this isn't necessarily the bad thing, but the nice thing about K-town is that everyone must be between 15-19, and they have to present their school ID to get in. And let me tell you.. when I was 16, there was some skanky 16+ clubs where there'd be creepy 40 year old guys (this is a MUCH better alternative).
Other cool thing.. they have foam parties. Say what???? I've never even been to a foam party! I feel like I haven't lived :(
I would give them 5 stars for providing a nice and safe place for teens to hang, but it's honestly kinda pricey-- though probably cheaper than getting a babysitter or leaving teenagers to trash the house. Â Also, I haven't been there (but maybe one day I will fulfill my wish and pretend to be a highschooler.... ha just kidding I don't miss being in highschool, at all).
