I love great beer, and this has the best selection in town. Unfortunately, the bartenders are rude and don't know anything about the beer they are serving. I often times have to point out which beer I want inside the refrigerators. The only thing keeping this rating from going to one or two is how good their beer list is. Which is also the only reason why I keep coming back.
Also, there have been times when their tap lines haven't been cleaned. Which is god awful
Great beer bar! Â Great beer selection. Taps rotate just enough to keep things interesting. They also have topnotch breweries visit every few weeks.
This is not a stuffy beer bar by any means. Â The owner is also a really friendly person. Â Bar also has plenty of TVs and 3 dart boards.
Hands down the best beer bar in Hoboken! Â On par with Jersey City Barcade but not as crowded.
This is the best tap list in town. Â I am consistently impressed. Â They always have multiple strong ales from some of best breweries in the country. Â I get really excited when I see Founders on tap since it doesn't seem any bars in Hoboken have any interest in carrying anything but frat boy and sorority girl swill (except maybe Brass Rail).
They have photo hunt (awesome) and some seating by the great big windows that they can open when it's nice outside. Â
Now to the negatives:
The bartenders are pretty terrible. Â I always seem to have to order from this young guy who just has no interest in smiling or making you feel welcome in any respect. Â Despite the serious tap list, it seems their bartenders don't know much about the beers they have. Â
Cork City also has no food, but that's not a big negative if you're just coming for the craft beer.
I love this place and it could totally get another star or two if they fix the vibe by getting some friendlier/beer-educated tenders.
One of my favorite bars in Hoboken. Â It's off the beaten path which means it's usually much quieter than the usual suspects on Washington St.
The bar has a really nice selection of good macro beers and micro breweries. Â The beer menu gives you a bit of information about each beer and the bar tenders are usually pretty helpful and attentive. Â There are three dartboards in the bar and since the place usually isn't packed it's a pretty easy to grab a beer and throw some darts with your friends.
They don't have food but in the past I've brought in outside food and they haven't had any issues with it.
A most excellent beer bar in an area that desperately needs one. Not sure what took me so long to start visiting here regularly, but am glad it's worked its way into the rotation.
Great rotating selection of taps that reflect the seasons. Lots of stouts and porters in the winter, hefes in the summer, etc. The staff also has beer maps that tell you what's on tap, where it's from, style, abv, etc. Very handy and saves a lot of question/answer on both sides of the bar. Some great specials to be had, too!
I went recently and was tickled to see them pouring Victory pale ale for $5. If that wasn't enough, they also had Stone Vertical Epic (!) and that's not something you always see in bars. For laypeople, they also have the mass production stuff - Bud, Coors, Miller, Yuengling - and they don't gouge on the prices like other places just a block away. But, honestly, you should be trying something new and different here. Looks like they also have a beer club/program that I'm curious to learn more about and possibly join. If this is some kind of loyalty/rewards program then I'm adding a star.
Cork City is on the cozier side, but good for a few friends. It's typically on the quieter side and a good place to catch up with friends. Not much of a scene. They do have photohunt, Buck Hunter, and darts.
No food, but they seem ok with people bringing their own.
Staff is attentive. Glasses don't stay empty long. Good taste in music, too.
Cork City has found its niche as a craft beer haven in Hoboken and hope they keep it going.
My favorite bar in Hoboken
It certainly helps that it is only a block from my apt, but I think its a five regardless.  There are $3 brews at all times (PBR, Yuengling), a constant of good beers (60 min, Stone), and a rotation of  ~20 taps for craft beers.  Mosty American beers, which is my preference.
They have cheeseballs sometimes; amazing. Â No food but you're free to byo. Â If you can't sit still, there's a few dart boards.
Cork City is one of the best "beer lover" bars in the area. The selection on tap doesn't rotate as much as I would like, but oh well. Cork still has a better selection of craft beer then anywhere else in the area. The employees are also knowledgeable about beer, so they can always offer a new suggestion.
They do not have a kitchen, but you are welcome to order your own food. And trust me, you will end up doing that after you start drinking here.
This has become my favorite bar in Hoboken. First off, the negative - the space isn't very conducive to hanging out - not too many seats, and the open areas are spattered with people playing darts or the hunting arcade game. That said, it's still a fine space that has a nice volume and warmth to it.
Now, for the reason you go to the bar in the first place. The beer at Cork City is very good - revolving tap (with a bunch of great beers that are always there) that always features a few unique/rare craft brews. Prices are what you would expect for craft draughts in the area, maybe a little less (between $5-8 for a pint). This place won my heart over when I saw that Wells Banana Bread was on tap - and has been each time that I have gone. This is the perfect nightcap spot - you probably wouldn't spend an entire evening here, but after a night in town or after dinner, I can't think of a better place in Hoboken to have a great drink to cap things off.
Bouncer is on a total power trip! He yelled at me to the close the door behind me and was talking on his cell phone, not dressed in uniform so I questioned his attitude thinking he was just a patron like myself......and then he made me leave!
Its a shame bc we were with about 20 people who had no problem leaving the empty  bar. Sorry brendan, you're a good bartender tho!
I love Cork City because they are the only bar that consistently serves high quality craft beer in Hoboken. The only problem? They know they are the only good beer bar in Hoboken and their prices are high. I paid (ok let's be honest, my bf paid) $9 for Ballast Point Sea Monster. Comprable beers are cheaper in the East and West Village ($6-$7).
The bartenders are friendly and real (not meatheads).
Best option in Hoboken for a beer lover.
Cork City is a smaller bar thats right off the beaten path of Washington Street(half a block away). I like this bar because its fun, fairly priced, and since not on Washington, doesnt have a lot of the "off the train" frat boy types. Can't go wrong with $4 Yuengling drafts on a Saturday night at a lively bar w/ attractive women in Hoboken/NYC.
Review Source:Great bar with a great beer selection. Â I was a little disappointed that there was no 21st Amendment beer available but I weathered through with some Founders and Stone IPA (tap).
They have 3 dart boards as well which is a plus. Â This is a good bar off of Washington to have some quality beers and maybe play a few games of darts.
Also Ladies - since there are really good beers here and darts, you will find that the girl-guy ratio will probably be heavily in your favor.
Came here because they are the ONLY bar in this area with Great Lakes beer on tap. I fell in love with their beers while visiting friends in Cleveland and had always been disappointed to know it doesn't exist anywhere in North Jersey/the City... UNTIL NOW. (If you don't know about the magical goodness that is Great Lakes, find yourself a friend in Ohio and get him/her to mail you some.)
They had Burning River on tap, as well as about twelve other seasonal and craft beers. They had the Dortmunder, Nosferatu, and Eliot Ness in bottle.
Combine that with NFL Sunday Ticket, a good craft beer selection, knowledgeable and hospitable bartenders, free wings (I didn't eat any, but my friend said they were okay), and free cheesy poofs, and for once, this Asian isn't angry. Also happy to report this place doesn't fall into the stereotypical "Hoboken douchebag-and-slutbag" category... so if you're reading this and want to stop in, please, keep it that way.
Will definitely be back in the near future, especially if they get that keg of GL Christmas Ale.
Customer service was beyond amazing and the atmosphere was fantastic. It was a chill place. My girlfriend and I just decided to pop in and try it and we wound up sitting with some of the employees. We had a great night, one of the best I've had in Hoboken. Unpretentious nice people in there, no suburbanite guidos here. The beer selection is just simply awesome, best in Hoboken without a doubt. They've got my business for good.
Review Source:Now that the Cork has transformed itself from Duffys, I'm bestowing an additional star. Nice selection of drafts (Dogfish 60 min, yah!), larger selection of bottles (if you're into that) and free cheese balls. Nice combo -- this place is now one of our top Hoboken meeting places when I get off work early. I'm now going to downgrade my review of Village Pourhouse.
Want the additional star? Well, add another station of draft taps and rotate those beers like the beer-crazy folks at Blind Tiger. Maybe, though, that's logistically impossible. A guy can dream.
Duffy's is great for what it is-- a chill and simple bar.
They have solid drink specials during the week and decent beers on tap. Plus the bartenders are super friendly. It's perfect for an after work pint or two when you don't want to deal with the crowds on Washington and want to kick back and relax.
This was, quite possibly, the only bar in Hoboken without a line on Halloween. Â It was packed to the gills, but everyone was friendly. Â The bartenders were speedy and polite, the TVs played the Yankee game, and the bathrooms were clean. Â I remember the drinks being relatively cheap as well. Â It seemed a bit on the divier end of things, but all things considered, but that might just have been the result of hundreds of drunken Halloween revelers tearing through the place.
Review Source:I can't really review this bar accurately for the usual boozing time; when I went, Saturday at about 5pm, it was empty. Â
However, things I like about bars that Duffy's has: Â
-foot rest railing all around the bar and by windows
-gigantic windows that are open in the summer
-Smithwicks on tap (and other beers)
-darts
-juke box
-average prices
I will do some night time drinking research and perhaps amend my review.
My first time out to this spot and I enjoyed it. Â It's off the Washington path which is great and when the weather is good, all the windows fold open to create an airy almost out doorsy vibe. Â Some darts and a Buck hunter to round out the beer hall. Â They have happy hour on the week days and regular priced domestic drafts are ~$3.75.
