Try the California Grille (without cheese!) for a delicious vegan option!  Very good food and reasonably priced!

Prefer this location than a McDonald's in museum.  This bakery serves not only pastries but also lhot/cold lunch entrees.  You can seat yourself and look at the "Big Sue" dinosaur.  I like that it has a separate line for just the coffee, espresso, latte and baked goods (think cookies and brownies) so you don't have to wait in the snake-like line to get lunch.

The food is great :) Selection is fantastic :) Price is beyond fair and the staff and service was A+ :) This is the way a museum restaurant should be... Way to go :)

For quick in-museum dining, this is one of the better spots in Chicago.  All the comforts of a great menu selection of salads, sandwiches and desserts at reasonable prices.  If you want crapola, go downstairs and join the bottom-feeders (literally) at McDonalds.  Corner Bakery isn't that much more expensive than McDonald's, plus it's better for you.  But who can escape the allure of a McFlurry on a hot day?

So try out Corner Bakery.  What other museum can can match the fun of eating a meal 50 feet away from a full Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton?  Great dinosaur watching.  ::nyuk::nyuk::

This has nothing to do with the food.. Food was average .. But I'm not too happy bout the fact that you can't just go to the restuaurant without paying for the fields museum admission... I m visiting Chicago and wanted corner bakery .. So I walked to this location hoping to get some food ... Lil did I know .. I had to purchase admissions to even get to the place! Sigh ..

I would like to review the Corner Bakery in the Field Museum. About 10am on a Monday, I went to sit down in the cafe area in the grand hall which is nice and the table I wanted was dirty. There were 3 employees standing around and I asked for a rag to clean it myself. The employee I spoke to indicated I was to wait and WENT TO GET SOMEONE ELSE! Then the employee he got told me to wait.  After a while I just got another table.

I usually like Corner Bakery, especially their sandwiches on the pretzel bread.  But this location was more like a cafeteria than the usual restaurant locations, I guess that's because its located in the museum itself.  Most of the food was pre-made and sitting in their coolers for what appeared to be a long time.  The staff seemed pre-occupied with other things.  If we hadn't been so hungry, and didn't want to walk anymore after trekking down 3 miles to the field museum, we would have gone somewhere else.

Aweful. Everything tasted like horrible school cafeteria food. Avoid it like the plague. Excellent concept because you van easily spend the entire day walking through all the awesome exhibits BUT it doesn't hold the same Quality and standards in comparison to other corner bakeries.

I don't understand why there's a Corner Bakery literally on every other corner in Chicago, but I love it.

This location is hands down, the best Corner Bakery I've ever experienced.  We arrived early in the morning when the museum had been open for an hour so there were that many people in the restaurant.  The employees were friendly, cheerful, attentive, and patient and they made everything on the spot in an area where you could actually see them make it (not behind closed doors) - which I loved.

We ordered an omelet and pasta and both were delicious and fresh, especially the omelet.  The pasta was equally as good but not exactly breakfast food, so of course it wasn't as satisfying, you know?

    Three words:  Fresca on tap!!

Maybe that exists all over Illinois, but you won't find it in Texas.  Maybe you think this is a silly thing to get excited about.  Obviously, you do not know my love of Fresca!

Other than that...I'm sort of against chains in museums on principle.  I'd sort of rather have crappy cafeteria food than chain food, but hey.  That said, I would take eating at this Corner Bakery over eating at the McDonald's downstairs anyday!

I was expecting it to be a big kludge here but really it was quite efficient and everyone was really nice.  My only gripe would be that my sandwich was pre-made so it was a little soggy.

I can't figure out the appeal of Corner Bakery.  I know a lot of people who like it, but I find their food gross and the atmosphere is nothing special. It's definitely your typical sandwich place and there are so many other places (ex: potbelly's) to grab a decent sandwich in this city.

This outlet is located near the north entrance on the main floor of the Field Museum, so they have a captive audience. It's a busy place at the noon hour, but the service moves pretty quickly. They have some cold sandwiches and salads, but you may be better off with the grilled paninis, chili, or pasta dishes. I think the dessert items are better than the food. Your sweet tooth will probably dig the fudge brownies, lemon bars, or cookies, all chewy and delicious. Try to get a seat in the more secluded room all the way north, as you can get a view of the lakefront.
