I went here with a group of 3 for Dine LA. The entrees were amazing. The Brussel sprouts were delicious. The meat balls were well seasoned and the grilled cheese was crunchy and the added fruit took it over the top. I had the lickable wallpaper cocktail, which was fantastic. I only gave the place 4 stars b/c the desserts were awful. The cookies tasted like they were store bought, the red velvet twinkies didn't taste like red velvet at all and had a weird texture. The palmetto was decent. Get a new pastry chef ASAP.

I came with a group of 7 for DineLA.  I called earlier the same day to make a reservation but they said they were really busy and to try and just walk in which is what we did.  We got there around 6:40pm or so.

    The Service ---
They were able to seat us right when we walked in.  However, the host told us that they would need the table for a reservation and asked if we could be done by 8:30 or 8:45.  I thought that was just horrible.  I don't want to feel rushed when I'm eating. I understand that you have a small restaurant and lots of reservations but don't give me a time limit!  Minus this, the service was good.  Our server was great.  He was very friendly and even gave us a free drink.  He was great despite the fact that they added gratuity since we had a large party.  I've been to places where they do that and the server knows they're getting a tip no matter what so they don't care about how good their service is.  This guy was great though!

    The Food ---
Since we had so many people, we got to try everything on the DineLA menu!
Burrata: Nothing special. Kind of boring.
Brussels Sprouts: Best dish of the night!  Super flavorful and tender.
Salmon Crudo: The sauce/foam was very citrusy.  This dish was also nothing special.
Grilled Cheese: Came with peaches which gave it a nice sweet flavor and the bread was perfectly toasted.  I recommend!
Meatballs: I recommend this one as well.  The meatballs had a great flavor and there was so much cheese gooeyness.  Yum!
Broccolini: Recommend also.  It was perfectly cooked.
Agnolotti: I didn't like this one.  All I could taste was the cilantro.
Steamed Mussels: Wasn't a fan since I don't like curry.
French Fries (Not on DineLA menu): The fries were good - cooked well.  The aioli it came with was really good!
Milk and Cookies: This was my favorite dessert.  The cookies were nice and soft and the ice cream was good.
Red Velvet Twinkies: The twinkies weren't good but the beet chips were!  It was kind of random how they threw those 2 together.
Chocolate Paloma.  The dark chocolate and grapefruit went well together.  The tequila sorbet was nasty!!
For drinks, I had a Moscow Mule and the lager on the Happy Hour menu (we came just in time.  It ended at 7pm).  The Moscow Mule was pretty good but small and I didn't like the lager.  The drink our server gave us was called "That Girl is Dangerous" and it was some kind of tequila cocktail.  It was pretty good, tasted like a strawberry creamsicle.

    The Prices ---
It was $25 for DineLA.  We each got 2 dishes plus 1 dessert but it was all served family style which was nice.  My Happy Hour Moscow Mule was $7 and the beer was $5.

Overall, I think this was a great choice for DineLA since we had so many people and were able to try everything.  I might come back for Happy Hour but not regularly.  It's too pricey.

I went to this place for cocktails the first time (which were great) and noticed the food menu and went back last weekend for dinner.  Everything was just delicious - brussel sprouts, burrata, grilled cheese, mussels, and meatballs. And the cocktails were just as good as they were the first time I went. Best of all, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The chef even came out to see how we liked our meal. I'll definitely be going back.

Sunday R&D night with burgers and beer for $15 is becoming a regular thing for us.
We've been here four times within two months, and I can't wait to go back...maybe try something else?

Old Fashioneds for $5 (on Sundays), oh my!  They use the right ice-cubes too.

Sunday Happy Hour @ The Corner Door.

They serve HH Everyday from 5-7. Nice.
They also have a $15 burger, fries & beer special on Sundays.
Old Fashions for$5 on Sundays too. Ordered one OF with Bourbon, then another w/ Rye. Both were excellent and strong. They have an interesting mix of 10 beers on tap. Some locals, Strand, Smog City, Monkish: some other CA and CO beers and even a real Kolch from Cologne.

    Food:
HH Fried Chicken ($8). Two boneless pieces of dark meat with one chipotle sauce and one white sauce?? Chicken was cooked well, nice crunch and the sauces were worth scraping off the plate to eat even after the chicken was gone.
HH Chickpeas & Almonds ($3) This was a small portion but Very flavorful, crispy and Curry flavored. Excellent.
HH Meatballs ($8) I didn't try the MBs, but I did have the basil and cheese that came on top. It was a little odd because it was slightly cold despite coming out in a little cast iron skillet.
HH French Fries ($4) Fries were mostly hot and crispy, well seasoned and came with a really nice garlic aoli.

    Burger Combos
Tonight's special was w/ Cheddar, Pickled red onion, Arugula and Egg.
Never tried the egg on burger phenom and it didn't do much for this burger. Don't know how the egg was cooked but no gooey yolk mess happening here. Fine. The burger is served on toast, crust-less well toasted. Hmmmnn. It works but...
Ordered the burgers medium which is a little out of my box, but wanted to try not drying out by overcooking. Saw my wife's' and it looked pretty rare. Looked at mine and it was rarer + rawer. I powered through half and the grass fed beef was moist and flavorful. Asked the waitress if she thought it was medium and she thought it was pretty rare and offered to cook it more. Not necessary, but next time I m ight go medium + ( a little more). The burgers are Small.

This is a cool little corner neighborhood spot. Packed for Sunday HH. Bunch of unmarried hipsters juicing it up. The staff was more than efficient and friendly. There is a parking lot on the roof with plenty of space.

I'm coming back to try some more of the HH menu, charcutiere ($8) Steak ($15) and the wings ($8). I also want to try their House Burger that comes with Bone Marrow mayo.

WTF guys! Worst experience, way to kill an otherwise good Monday..

Started off running a bit late for happy hour, but still made it a bit under the 7pm mark with 3-4 mins left to place an order.

My girlfriend goes in about 5 mins before 7 and asks to order right away if possible. The bar back shrugs at her and says, "sure".  Then I come in mins later and say the same thing, and am given the same response.

We are given two glasses of water, one of which still has lipstick on it.

2 other patrons that arrived right after us,  and were served first under the happy hour menu (as the appeared to be regulars knowing the bartenders name).

The bartender finally comes over to us 5 mins after happy hour ends, and says sorry guys happy hour is over. He did not care at all that I had been there waiting and ready to order prior to 7pm, or that there were 2 customers wanting to pay over $40 that walked out feeling very slighted. This could have been easily avoided in a number of different ways.

    Tip to Corner Door:::
If customers come in running late for happy hour and want to put in 1 order. accommodate them, don't avoid them in the corner.  (no pun intended)

How do you go from a place that used to know what we ordered every week, to a place not willing to take normal care of a customer.

I hope I come back as I really do love this place, but probably wont be for some time just on principal. I am really confused, as you have taken amazing care of us in the past, and now could care less. I hope this changes if there is a next time.

My wife and I have steadily worked our way up to "regular" status here. Standard order is the Brussel Sports app and the Steak Frites to share , with some drinks.  We've definitely tried some variations on that order, including the ribs (excellent, with a nice, very subtle dry rub) the burger and the wings (very good) and more.

Didn't love the pasta or the chicken, which you'd think would bring the place down a bit, but the dishes we like, we like so much we always go back.

The crowds haven't really found this place yet, at least not to the extent that they've found A-Frame and Waterloo & City, so even it has gotten busier, we're usually able to get seated right away.

Yummy food, large windows for people watching and exposed brick! (Can you tell I'm an ex pat NY'er?!) This part of Washington Blvd. just keeps bringing in more and more new businesses. I often get together for dinners with my old coworkers from my previous agency.  We all work in PR and know the ins & outs of promoting businesses can can easily read through hype/overexposed publicity.  For us to have eaten here previously and return with high accolades is a pretty darn good sign they are doing something right here!

FYI, went to The Corner Door in Culber City yesterday.  After our meal, while having our coffe we were handed our check.  No problem, right?
Shortly after that however we were asked to pay our bill and leave the table.  No "would you mind".  No "may we buy you a drink at the bar".
Our bill was $250.  It's not like we were nursing a glass of water all night.
I completely understand that The Corner Door was busy and wanted to make more money on other customers, but it's how The Corner Door mgmt chose to treat us that left a BAD taste in our mouths.
    Word to the wise.

Popped by here after seeing Chopped, only to learn that Chef Reyes went over to work for the team at Rock & Reilly's?   Booo  hooo.   - love that place.

Needless to say, i was here and decided to stay.   Bar had everything under the sun and although a little pricy, the bartender walked me thru a number of unique drinks they offer.

It was a nice crowd but not too crazy.  Brussel Sprouts were very tasty-- and the burger was delightful & filling.  regretted not trying the grilled cheese.  overheard someone say it was great.

    def. worth checking out!

Hearing about The Corner Door on Chopped as Chef Luke Reyes defeated his competition, I was very curious to try this place. The decor is nice and has a warm ambiance, but the acoustics are terrible and every whisper turns into a loud roar.

The menu is simple, but doesn't really inspire or necessarily appetize. I did not try what seemed to be the go to, which is the burger, but from what I've seen from others it's nothing to rave about. The staff is friendly and the service was on par with similar places.

I did enjoy the drink menu and the Banana Cream Eclairs, even though the only reason I order that particular dessert was because they were out of every other offering.

I'll stop by again if I'm in the neighborhood, but wouldn't drive too far for it.

And the trend of farm-to-table continues in Los Angeles.  I think my husband and I have been to at least a dozen places similar to this - but we were not disappointed.  It's nice to find a solid place that's not super crowded (ahem Gjelina).  We were not super hungry, but were pleased with all our choices.  No MUST GETs, but you should highly consider the following:

Grilled cheese with apple, cheddar, greens - the waiter said that the chef has won awards for his grilled cheese.  This was the third place winner.  Sometimes the first place winner is on the menu (I believe the one with asian pears) - that may have gotten a BOLD.

Roasted chicken with couscous, almonds, yogurt - tasty chicken, but the coucous was the star.  Loved it - cool and refreshing.

Brussels sprouts - With the plentiful farm-to-table options, so comes the brussel sprouts.  I actually liked this version - on the sweeter side.

Dark, intimate venue.  Reclaimed wooden tables - the usual.  Will definitely be back to try the burgar and other grilled cheese.

We've been wanting to try this place for a while. Glad we finally did.
    We ordered:
TCD burger / pretty good / missing something though.
    Fries / nice table nosh
$5 Old Fashioned / Sundays only / WOW! Lots of alcomohol! Delicious
Chicken Wings / These are probably the best wings I've had in a while. Perfect amount of sweet with just enough heat. Not drenched with sauce. Perfect! Could've just had 2 orders and called it a night.
    Will definitely go back.

I came here for the first time this weekend and really loved it.

The drink list is impressive - tasty cocktails, good beers, and a decent wine list. I chose a Duvel and was happy with all the fizzy goodness. One friend got a Secret Stachio cocktail, and that was pretty tasty too - definitely had a strong nutty flavor.

I ordered some fries, and they ended up taking awhile. Without me asking, our server brought out a complimentary brussels sprout dish to apologize for the wait, which I thought was really nice.

I wished I had ordered the brussels sprouts to begin with! Honestly, you can't tell you're eating vegetables (WIN WIN)! They're basically roasted to a nice crisp and then tossed with caramelized onions, balsamic vinegar, and feta cheese. The result is a super savory dish that will probably  make your breath smell awful, but it is so worth it.

My fries were good too, don't get me wrong. The aioli was pretty yummy.

Minor issues - very loud in here, and very dark.

We reserved the large center table for our group, and the staff was very helpful and accommodating, even when we kept drifting toward the aisles and blocking kitchen traffic. Sorry, guys.

The other menu items looked absolutely incredible, so I look forward to coming back with a full-blown-dinner appetite.

I must say that I'm quite impressed with the latest place that's popped up in this soon to be popular spot of town.  The fact that it's the most recent place to open and has the best food in the area (yes, even better than A Frame) definitely says something about the Owners and the Chef's that run this place.  On top of that they have a great staff and amazing bartenders that so far have nailed every drink I've ordered from them.

Great atmosphere and hidden TV's that are seldom on make it a nice spot to chill.  It was a little loud when they first opened but the last time I went back I noticed that they done a lot of sound proofing and it's made all the difference.

If you haven't been and want a place with a good variety and assortment of food served with specialty cocktails, this is the place.

Let me first say my husband and i have had our share of brussel sprout dishes across this city, but the Corner Door has taken them to a whole new level! Wow. Feta, balsamic and caramelized onions...say no more...i was tempted to get another round for dessert.

We also shared the uni toast, which wasn't your typical uni dish. So inventive with miso butter and very fresh. Our server Patrick - who could not have been better - said the uni arrives live so you know it's top notch from Santa Barbara.

To round out the meal we had one of their specials, the lamb burger. It was another fab dish, perfectly seasoned and paired with the right about of feta and tzatziki sauce.

Overall this place is true 4.5, a hidden jem for Westsiders. There's no doubt it's a little loud, but the food, drinks, atmosphere and service far outweigh the noise level. We'll def be back.

Really tasty food, good assortment of beer, wines and craft cocktails and also REALLY loud.

We arrived way early for our reservation and hung out in the no-man's land with drinks while waiting for our table. We could hardly hear each other - guess folks had some steam to let off post-work!

-Loved my two oysters - briny & delectable!
-Shared the asparagus, poached egg, burrata and brioche croutons "salad." Great flavors - just wished the greens had been cut up a bit. It looks pretty the way they served it but makes it tough to share (which is encouraged with everything).
-The pork chop special was REALLY something special. Perfectly seasoned, moist, great crust with tasty roasted sweet taters on the side.

While we ate, my hubs asked me, "is there music playing?" and I responded yes and then we proceeded to guess what it was. I was pretty sure it was that one Kings of Leon song that I think all songs are when I can't really hear them... so yeah, again it was loud, but that's festive, right!?

I can't help but love The Corner Door. This place was designed for yuppie white girls like me: The exposed brick. The Edison bulbs. The friendly cute bartenders. The local craft beers. The über-trendy cocktails. The housemade bitters. Luke Reyes' veggie-friendly small plates menu.

Stop it Corner Door. I'm powerless to resist you.

You get what you pay for at TCD. That means $12 cocktails, $7-9 beers, small plates averaging $13. You're probably not gonna leave here drunk (or full) without dropping the better part of a day's wages. But hey, you can't take it you...right?

    Thursday Night Happy Hour.
Martini, Juice Box, Vodka Soda: Yes, Maybe, Always.

The Steak & Fries was excellent- perfect happy hour. Medium here is medium rare elsewhere. The bartender cracked me up with his cocktail shaking as it induced some serious booty shaking. This bar is pretty good I'd say- my only complaint is that I think I broke my bank.

Try the Big Kid Juice Box...it was so good!!  I had the chicken and my friend had the hanger steak - both were really good!  OMG..and you must try the bourbon milk!  I could have had a bowl of just that and been the happiest girl ever!

Good food, better drinks, excellent service...it's awesome!

Came here for drinks and snacks after hanging out at Alibi. We just walked here since nobody wanted to park twice. Very dark inside.

I drank the Big Kid Juice Box all night. Got a few of them. Enjoyed myself on that.

Oysters - BIG FAIL. BIG FAIL. We ordered a dozen for the table of 6 ppl. We left 4 for them untouched. They were horrible and not fresh. Horrible fishy smell and VERY GRITTY. Not fun at all. Without the epic oyster fail, this might have been a 4,5 star night!

French Fries - crisp and stiff. No complaints.

Slow Cooked Ribs - it's like served on a plate of salad. It's also super dark inside the restaurant. So pretty much we thought we were done with the meat, but when we poked around under the lettuce, we found 2 more ribs! HA! Overall, ribs fell off the bone, but they were a lil dry for my liking.

Grilled Cheese - By far, the absolute best thing of the night. So delicious with the chewy cheese and the bit of apple crunch encased by perfectly golden bread. It was so good, we ordered another one.

Cider Glazed Wings - Well executed wings. Pipping hot, crisp skin, and a sticky glaze. Would get again.

Steamed Mussels - Loved the broth. It was extremely flavorful and I was able to get spoonfuls of chickpeas and veggies along with the mussels. Second most favorite thing of the night and would definitely get it again.

Some things we don't talk about
    Rather do without
    And just hold the smile
Falling in and out of love at...THE CORNER DOOR! - The Fray (never say never)

Let's start with the good: atmosphere is nice, good use of lighting - enjoyable date setting.

The bad: everything else! Ordered the cider glazed wings and it was okay. My chicken sandwich was super crunchy and dry - probably should be served with a salad to balance it out. The burger named after the place was also inexcusable. I don't know but a restaurant/bar without a decent burger and average wings doesn't seem to be a recipe for success. Worst part is I'm the one that actually picked this place to try! When the server wished us to come back next week, it was the first time in a while that I thought there is no wayyy that's gonna happen haha oh well

Came in on a Sunday night for some late dinner and drinks. Small, cool, casual, and local bar. There's not a lot of seating area. It's meant to be more of a small-intimate group. Good music section playing in the background. Not too loud, enough to keep the crowd entertained and soft enough to carry a conversation with others. Service was really good. Our server, Patrick was attentive and informative. He even wrote on my to-go box, "lunch" n "dinner." Haha.

Sprouts: it wasn't too bad, but a bit on the sweet side. I'm spoiled by Baco Mercat's Sprouts that nothing really beats them.
Roasted Chicken: Full of herb flavor. Cooked well and juicy, not oily. I loved the couscous and yogurt combo. Went well together.

If I'm in the Culver City area, I wouldn't mind coming back.

    Cheers!

I've been here a couple of times now, and its pretty good, not awesome, but enjoyable. It can get pretty crowded and they're willing to give away tables if you're running late, which is fine. I've been on both sides of that coin. I've lost tables and also have been seated at tables where the group was running late.

I've been there for happy hour, and it is a decent, not great happy hour.  They've got a couple of drinks for a more reasonable price, but the prices and selection will never match Big Foot West's happy hour selection. They have some decent food options, but also very limited for happy hour. The wings are probably the way to go when they're on the menu.

    FOOD:
I've had the brussel sprouts which are generally the standout.  random note to that, is that I've had them w/o the feta cheese and they're still good, but I think the feta is a nice addition.  I've had the wings, which are pretty good gastro-pubby food. I've also had the ribs, which were fine, but I think b/c we had them with the wings, they felt a little bland.

The pork chop was very flavorful and they're proud of their mussels, which were super meaty and in a decent sauce, but nothing to write home about, just flavorful enough to write to yelp about.

The desserts were also pretty good, but not wonderful  the cookies were nice and hot as was the brownie.

    DÉCOR:
b/c it is usually full, it can get a little loud.  I like the bar as far as bars go. Generally, a decent selection of tunes.

Came here for dineLA and was SO impressed with the service and the food! First off, we came early enough for Sunday happy hour so our group ended up with some awesomely priced and well tended drinks.

It was a bit awkward at first because though we had made a reservation, none of the tables were open except a tiny 2 top next to a pole. We ended up sitting at the shared long bar table instead of waiting for a table to open.

Started with splitting the grilled cheese and wings while we decided on our dineLA selections. The grilled cheese was DELICIOUS. The combination of crusty bread, cheese, pear, and arugula made for an amazing starter; hell amazing dinner if I didn't have to share.
The cider glazed wings were meh. Nothing of note; skip them.

For appetizers I got the roasted and fried brussels sprouts which were melt in your mouth delicious. Tried a bit of my friend's kale salad and that was equally good. They had crisped up the kale like kale chips. Amazingly delicious.

All of us chose the sea bass and agreed that it wasn't that great. It was yummy but not amazing like our appetizers. My piece was overcooked. BUT the celery root puree was amazing.

So is the chef a vegetarian or something? Because all the veggies (grilled cheese, brussels, kale, celery root puree) were amazing and memorable. The meat (wings, sea bass) was lackluster. Keep on making the delicious veggies though; I will be back for them. Bone marrow isn't my thing, so while I tried it, I can't really give you a good review.

Now the desserts were interesting. Get the spiced cheesecake and not the milk and cookie. The waitress indicated that the cookie was the size of a small plate; it was2 inches in diameter. So the size of a small chips ahoy cookie. And the bourbon milk was all bourbon! I mean, that's good if you're an alcoholic but I was unprepared for it. We all had a good laugh over it.

The service was stellar. The manager(?) told us the wings were on happy hour but they were not (but their menu online still says they are?). We only found out afterwards when he came over and apologized for his mistake and gave us a happy hour discount on the wings. That's proactive service that made us feel totally welcome.

I'm definitely coming back for the veggie deliciousness. On Sundays they have a burger, beer and fries deal so I may be able to drag some carnivores along for the ride.

Came in with a friend after work last Wednesday. We actually arrived too early! (They open at 5:30). Since it was happy hour, we were able to get one of our items on the HH special, but unfortunately it was the least favorite item: the grilled cheese with apple. The bread was too thick and hard to bite into. I ended up eating the sandwich open faced style, but it wasn't that enjoyable.
My friend recommended the roasted & fried brussels sprouts with balsamic vinegar and feta cheese. These were tasty, but definitely something you'd want to share because it's a strong flavor. The mussels were good, nicely cooked. The seasoning was different than I expected, but I liked it.

I guess in the end with our shared sampling of food, I still could eat more. We ended up getting the milk and cookies. The cookies were warm and soft and the bourbon milk was smooth and creamy. I could go for these again.

Our dinner ended up $50 total since we were hungry and the HH items were limited. Kinda pricey since there was nothing to take home in the end. Overall I nice place, I just didn't get anything exceptional that would make me go out of my way.

For me sitting at a beautiful bar with nice people around me and a fantastic caring bartender is a perfect evening. Bo (Beau) is the best bartender I imagine there has ever been as he knows his stuff and looks like the 2013 version of the movie Cocktail.

I wish the menu would be revamped and changed around. It's been the same for a long time and now I'm bored with it as it's a small menu with the same stuff since they opened I think. So please get some new food options! (if i may request... some more healthy options please. no need for rich greasy sauces on squash, kale, and brussel sprouts)

For people like me who don't like a loud crowd make sure you go on the early side. Then it's that homey, stylish, fantastic beer or 'old fashioned', watch sports on the tv, and meet the people near you on the stools type of neighborhood bar. Cheers!

I came here for DineLA with a friend since the menu looked delicious and deliciously priced. ($25 for 3 courses) We started off with the brussel sprouts and the bone Marrow. The brussel sprouts were slightly pan fried with a tangy caramelized taste. Probably my favorite dish of the night. The bone marrow was decent but of course nothing compares to Animal.

For our main courses, We went with the sea bass and the braised beef. The sea bass was good but it was on the undercooked side so I had to send it back. Wasnt a big deal because the fish was still tasty. The braised beef was hearty and had a good amount of flavor but some parts were not as tender as we liked. Both dishes came with a potato purée that I didn't care too much for.

As for dessert, we got the spiced cheesecake jar and the bourbon milk with a chocolate chip cookie. I loved the cheesecake and the way it was presented in the mason jar. It was topped with caramelized apples and bits of pecan. The chocolate chip cookie and milk were also yummy. Too bad it came with one cookie and probably a "shot" of milk. Maybe we're fatasses but it seemed a bit skimpy.

The ambiance is nice and cozy. It does get really loud because of the open space in such a small space if that makes any sense. I don't think they had a parking lot so street parking is the way to go. The meters are free after 6pm.

We had a good experience overall and would definitely return to try the other dishes on the menu- chicken wings and grilled cheese sammich. I would give them 3.5 stars ln the food and 5 stars for the service. Our waiter fritz was the best. I wish I could fold him up in my pocket and take him home :)

Came here for DineLA week with two besties. Since we came after 8pm for a late-ish dinner, we did not have to wait at all. The ambiance was nice and the whole atmosphere felt really intimate and dark.

Since the menu said "Served family-styled," we decided to order different things to share. I really thought portions were going to be much bigger, but alas, that was not the case...

    Appetizer:
Roasted bone marrow--Didn't really try this, but my friend enjoyed it.
Tuscan kale salad--some toasted kale on top of bread.
Brussel Sprouts--really tangy and flavorful, but too soggy.

    Mains:
Sea bass--when this came out, my friend leaned over to me and whispered, "Do you want to go get some tacos after this?" This was literally the smallest piece of fish I have ever seen served as a main course. Flavor was nice and subtle, but again, tiny tiny portion.
Sweet potato tortelloni--my friend raved about this dish, saying that it was sweet and savory and delicious.
Slow braised beef with potato puree and carrots--soft and tender, my favorite entree of the night. It tasted especially great with the potato puree.

    Sweets:
Spiced cheesecake jar--I really liked the mason jar their presented this dessert in, so cute!
Salted caramel ice cream--probably my favorite dessert; simple but tasty.
Warm chocolate chip cookie with bourbon milk--the cookie was nothing to write home about. The bourbon milk smelled kind of off but tasted pretty good.

Overall a decent meal, though I wasn't blown away by anything in particular. I'll come by for drinks, but not necessarily for food.

I went to DineLA week with my friend and decided to check this place out after looking at their menu.

Upon entering, we waited at the bar for a short while before they seated us at a booth. The ambiance was nice and the place had a good look and was a lot smaller than I would have imagined.

For our appetizer courses we decided to go with the brussel sprouts and the bone marrow dishes. The brussel sprouts were really tasty. Sweet and carmelized and lightly fried, they were probably my favorite item all night. I wish they were a bit crispier, but overall were delicious. The bone marrow on the other hand was a bit of a disappointment as it wasn't as flavorful as I have had from some other places.

For the entree courses we went with the sea bass and the braised beef. The sea bass to me seemed to be a bit undercooked. Both me and my friend agreed that the fish was much more flavorful towards the end of it where the girth was less thick. If only they had achieved that throughout the whole fish.

The braised beef was very good, however it wasn't as tender and juicy as I was hoping but was tasty especially paired with the carrots and potato puree.

For dessert we went with the spiced cheesecake jar and chocolate chip cookie with bourbon milk. These dessert were tasty and I preferred the cheesecake jar as the bourbon milk had a bit to strong of a bite for me.

All in all, it was a good meal. Maybe a little light on the food portions, but otherwise was pretty tasty. Could it have been a bit better? Yes, but decent for a place known more for their drinks.

Food Was Excellent. I had a brisket and we also ordered a hamburger. Very rich and tasty.
We asked for a drink recommendation which backfired on us, because the waiter was not wise in this area he suggested really strong drinks that neither of us liked. So that being said, Choose your own drink Or maybe check with the bartender for his suggestion he is the pro.
This place is pricey and trendy,  2 wines 3 mixed drinks and two dinners $99.00 plus tip
But it is a nice place and I would go there again and I would send a friend there for a drink if they asked for a recommendation.

My wife and I went here on a Friday night for DineLa week.  All tables and the bar were completely full.  Strike that, there were plenty of empty seats but tables were taken up by people by themselves or groups of three at tables for four.  Anyway, we had to stand around and stare at others for a bit before a couple left at the bar.  At first we worried that we'd not be served but once the bartender acknowledged us, the service quite attentive after that, with water refilled frequently and plates cleared regularly.

We both ordered the kale salad and warm cookie with bourbon milk for dessert.  For the main course I had the sea bass and my wife had the braised beef.

The kale salad consisted of toasted kale on top of what tasted like toasted and buttered bread.  It was not bad but had a bit too much dressing.  The sea bass was delicious though more like a guppy than a full grown fish.  There was literally about one inch square inch of fish.    Normal price is $19 so I can't help but feeling like it's a bit of a ripoff for the amount of food.  However, it was quite tasty.  My wife's braised beef was even better.  The whole thing was like butter, both the beef and the mashed potato.  There wasn't tons of beef but it was so rich that you didn't need much.

The warm chocolate cookie was delicious and the bourbon milk smelled like medicine but tasted great.

By the time we left, our chairs at the bar were surrounded and I worried when my wife went to the bathroom that I'd have to fight for her seat.  I'd go back here for drinks (which were the most reasonably priced) or for a special occasion when we're not that hungry.

Another great gatropub craw in Culver City that everyone should check out. Unfortunately I couldn't eat meat that week, so I completely missed out on trying their scrumptious Fried Chicken Sandwich! They looked so good and friends really liked them. :)

However, their other dishes on the HH menu were really good. Brussel Sprouts, although too soggy, was tangy, sweet, and perfect. Gnocchi Pomodoro were so good, I searched for the recipe just to make it myself. Fried Garbanzo and Almonds were a perfect beer accompaniment along with French Fries and garlic aioli.

Definitely a great place to go after work and hang out with your coworkers. I'm definitely going back to eat their Fried Chicken Sandwich!

This place is more for cocktails/drinks goers than foodies.

The brussels sprouts is a popular dish.  I also enjoyed the grilled cheese.  The portion of the pasta dish that we ordered was too small (see pic).  My friend recently went and said she liked the bruseel sprouts and the burger here.  My overall experience with the food here is that, the portions were small and either too oily or the dish is masked by too much sauce.

I would give this place a second try because it's in my neighborhood.

The service was friendly and helpful.

    Parking: Street parking available.

    Great décor and nice staff.

This is a great place to grab a drink if you live on the border of Mar Vista and Culver City.

I sat at the bar and had dinner.  The bartender was relaxed, nice and attentive.  I ordered the happy hour olives to start.  They were really good.  They were not the standard olive mix.  They had great depth of flavor.  I ordered the Chicken w/ couscous and yogurt.  Seems like they were trying to be too creative with this dish.  The chicken was amazing:  crispy skin + warm and juicy inside.  The couscous was good, but got cold really quickly for 1 of 2 reasons: 1)  Plates are not stored under heat lamp to keep them warm   OR  2) the yogurt mixture cooled off the entire plate.  Not sure.  Then there was the yogurt mixture.  It was more like a cream cheese in flavor and texture.  It really overpowered the dish.  That was a bummer.  I think they could have gone easier on the yogurt and added a veg to the plate.  It was only starch and protein.

I ordered the cookies for dessert.  Bad move.  They added a fist full of fried sage to the plate.  Said sage was not listed on the menu, which is a mistake.  If the sage was super minor and more of a garnish, it would have been different...maybe.  But I had to send it back.

Don't half step.  Come here and try the burger (looked really good) and have a cocktail.

I've been meaning to write a 5 star review of this place for months. My first few times here were great, however, my most recent experiences haven't been quite as enjoyable, hence the 3 stars.

I have to say the brussels sprouts are super delicious! I also enjoy the fried chicken sandwich. The staff is always friendly, but they definitely seem understaffed recently. During my last visit there was one server for the entire restaurant, which was moderately busy. This caused for a somewhat irritating experience, having to wait a long time to place our order and get refills on drinks.

I've been here twice during happy hour and was not given a happy hour menu until I specifically requested one. This practice is a pet peeve of mine. It seems sneaky that they don't tell you their lower priced happy hour specials if you don't know to ask for them. I almost felt punished for requesting, and ordering from, the happy hour menu too. The moscow mule, which has been a delicious cocktail in past visits tasted like soda water and nothing else - shame on you bartender!

Overall, it's a good place that I'll visit again. I just hope the recent signs of slipping on quality don't continue and they wake up and realize they need to put the focus back on quality like when they first opened. I'd love to come back and update this review to 4 or 5 stars in the future.

Best Brussels I've had EVER. Very creative menu. We had the grilled cheese and pears, which was really good. I also loved the roasted squash and burrata salad, as it came with a cured egg on top.
I have never ever thought of making a cured egg before. But now I will! They salt it until it dries out. It sort of has the texture of a gummy bear, but much much better. Very creative menu.
    The drinks as well.
I had the Ghostbuster, which is a scotchy type base plus spicy and lemony-- probably like the Master Cleanse but without the hunger.

I will be back a lot. Some reviewers say it's expensive. Have they been out in LA? Go just a bit west and you'll be paying $20/wine at Zinque and Tasting Kitchen. Here, the prices seem much more reasonable. If you want a deal on a steak, go to Denny's.

Definitely check it out. See you there, as I plan to go often.

Sometimes you want to go...where everybody knows your name..
    But the prices are insane.
You want to eat where you can see...the happy hour menu's lame
You want to be where everybody knows your name...

I really love this bar. Great food, clientele, the staff always remembers me and my friends. But, my complaints are jokingly embedded in the "cheers" theme above.

1-The happy hour menu needs to be reworked.
2-It's very expensive, but you do get high quality for the $$.
