The Cinema Bar

Stifffffffffffffffffff drinks, honky-tonk, street parking and around the corner from Tito's.  This place rules.  Small room, big sound, casual atmosphere.  No H'wood d'bags.  The dive bar yardstick by which others should be measured.  Make a point of hitting  up this joint, but don't block my view of the band, ever.

I love this place...just a local dive with pretty good hard drinks..wines not very good.. but great music (most of the time).  I always feel safe going there by myself..  the owners are pretty cool people.  could have more seats but the place is pretty small. and best of all there is no cover and I hope they don't change that:-)

At first, I expected nothing. It's got a big ol' dive bar neon sign and looks like it's made out of your uncle's creepy fake wood basement walls.  But you get inside, you see the band BOOM in your face and you're in love. Each time I've gone, it's gotten greater and greater, solid beer selection and the really shocking thing is how great the bands are. And they are FEET away! All lovely guys, particularly "Hot Club of Los Angeles" (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fhotclubofla.com%2F&s=cd2994ad70f01b0f1f6178873c89d37174bf4d243d0b524e3b45f273f4b2a8bf" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://hotclubofla.com/</a>) that plays there EVERY MONDAY. It's stunning how talented these guys are. GO TO THIS BAR EVERY CHANCE YOU GET. Much better music than you'd normally pay to see with a nice atmosphere and cool clientele. Don't waste your money anywhere else. Plus you're walkable to tons of great late night food!
