Recently, each month they have been doing a "secret" comedy show. It makes for a great date night. The show is free and lasts a couple hours. You get dinner and a show all in one. The grilled cheese sammys are always a treat.
This place gets super packed on the weekend. Almost too crowded since it's such a small venue. I prefer to go on week nights, when I can actually sit down.
They always have really good DJ's, and if it isn't too crowded, you can sometimes make a small dance floor in front of the DJ booth. Otherwise, there is no dance floor here, if you're looking for one.
Once the bouncer told me I could not come in because I was wearing open toed thong sandals. He ended up letting me in, but i'm not sure if this is still an issue...
The drinks are around $12 each. There is no parking lot, only street parking. No cover charge to get in.
Awesome vibe and great drinks! Â My boyfriend was very skeptical the first time I dragged him here because the entrance is very misleading. Â But that is what makes it fun, and since then, he has been the one dragging me here! Â Haven't gotten around to trying the grilled cheese but it looks yummy. Â Cocktails aren't cheap but then again, most drinks in LA aren't.
Review Source:Pretty cool little speakeasy on the westside. First time I went there was no bouncer (I guess we went a but early) and it was difficult trying to figure out how to get in. You actually have to walk through the barbershop and into the back door. Also there's no sign. Just the barber pole outside
Anyhow, the drinks here are great with my favorite being the smoke and dagger but be prepared...it's pretty spicy. The grilled cheese sandwiches are also good. You won't go wrong with any of them. All street parking but its usually not bad since there's not much else open around it.
