Sara The Wine Bar

i've now been coming to this gem for a bit now, and i still cannot say enough good things about sara and cirroc.

they really go above and beyond to accommodate their customers- with their generous nature. am hello? i LOVE the music they play. what a fantastic mashup of all my favorite songs that i've forgotten that i liked....

every single person i've brought here has left raving about the joint, and baffled they haven't heard about it sooner. to make your life easier-- the food is quite fantastic, and it's literally right next door. chicken, stuffed with spinach, blue cheese salad, the bruschetta (crack on bread), and the hefty tiger shrimps.

and for the wine snobs on here cutting down their wine selection. understand before the wine industry DECIDED to create a whole inventory of useless crap for "real wine aficionados" to buy-- ie. wine fridge, wine aerator-- mere mortals relied on just simply storing the bottle in a cool area, and letting it sit open, for the mother nature to oxidate. all the flights i've gotten featured some of the most interesting reds i've tasted. and since we ARE in the middle of culver city, i am more than fulfilled with this. stop your bitching, and just go to Loire Valley already.

but for myself, i am content with this little slice of heaven.

note: for the flights, tell them what you prefer/-- dry? not sure? just ask-- they never make you feel inferior about your lack of knowledge, and i've always loved all their wines.

I'm so happy that I read all of the YELP reviews and went! I love this place! My husband and I spent hours eating and drinking and talking to the owners. We trusted the reviews (and the owner's recommendation) and ordered the eggplant parmesan, the meatballs, the tricolor salad, and lots of wine. FANTASTIC! Sara was lovely -- I noticed she waited tables, served wine AND did the dishes all at the same time. Her husband, Cirroc, who also owns the business and the restaurant next-door, is lovely. The meatballs were as good as the reviews said as was the eggplant parmesan. The Tiramisu was delicious and NEITHER my husband nor I love Tiramisu! It's nice to support our local business owners and we'll make this our regular spot. Can't wait to return next weekend!!!!!

Stumbed upon this place about 6 p.m. on a Wednesday night, waiting out traffic. Met the owners who poured me two robust glasses of Pinot and served me the most garlicky, buttery scampi I've ever had. Great neighborhood feel with friendly, chatty, laid back regulars. the happy hour and wine prices were great, food and drink were ample, but most of all the positive energy and goodwill from the owners and their clientele are infectious. I had a great time and will find an excuse to cross town to visit again.
