5* for the tacos...what can I say... I love them. Â Maybe my favorite tacos in the world and one of my top 5 foods in Los Angeles.
BUT.... 2* for the loud, crowded, and expensive bar. Â Oh, and as an added benifit, you get surely bartenders to boot!
What to do? Â Skip the bar and take your tacos to go! Â Thats what I do now.
Kogi BBQ plus full bar equals GREATNESS!
The short rib tacos were unbelievable. Â Believe the hype - the beef was that tender. Â The tofu sliders were messy and bulging with filling, but also tasty. Â I did not care for the quesadillas, though. Â That was a bit weird. Â The kimchi fries were not the best that I ever had, either. Â The way they bring out food is very conducive to sharing. Â
The bar is a seriously cool scene. Â Even though the food takes center stage, I love that the actual bar takes up most of the real estate. Â Bear in mind that there are not that many tables if you have a group. Â They play cool hip hop and spent most of our time out on their little patio - which encourages mingling. Â They even brought our food out here for us. Â
I was jonesing for Korean-fusion food on this trip to LA, and boy did they deliver.
5 Stars for the Food Truck style food. Â Really yummy and inexpensive. Â Awesome at happy hour.
We tried the kogi three taco combo (I loved the short rib), Â Korean spiced fries (absolutely delicious, my favorite here), and burrito. Â All were pretty good. Â I would definitely come back for this bar food.
Tres leches cake was disappointing. Â Probably wouldn't get it again.
The place also has very limited seating and you have to wait for someone to leave and a lot of times, people just stand by there to hang out. Â Bartenders were really great though.
