Yay! They are back! And better than before, as if that were possible! Free comedy shows (that are actually funny) on alternating Fridays! The Sunday Brunch is now on Saturdays, too!!! And, most importantly, they are back!
I love Coyle's. It's a true neighborhood bar, with friendy bartenders, and a diverse, eclectic crowd that will open up to include you or leave you alone, depending on your desire. The beers are affordable, the food is quite good. The Jukebox is full and when the Rox Box is open that place can be jamming!
SOOO glad they are back :)
loved the sunday brunch buffet the pancakes and sausage are awesome!!!! make sure you bring cash because its cash only for the buffet. the only small dissappointment was that I love scrapple and they didnt have that but basicaly have everything else except  waffles and the dessert table is very good
Review Source:One of my favorite places to eat in Manayunk/Roxborough. My boyfriend and I just moved to the area and found Coyle's while taking a walk. I'm glad we stopped in. There's a little fire place in the back dining room where we were seated. The staff is friendly and the food is terrific. As a vegetarian, I'm always happy to find a place with tasty and healthy options. (Try the veggie grinder!) I've gone back several times since my first visit and haven't been disappointed yet. :)
Review Source:We found this by accident, making a u-turn to go to Bob's Diner. Â Sunday AYCE $8. Â We got there around 1:15, it was empty which scared us, but we'd just gone "hiking" near the Wissahickon so we were famished. Â
I have to say... this is a great deal! Â Omelets are included, sausage, french toast, pancakes, etc. Â Nothing was old or icky (especially since the buffet closed at 2). Â Great service. Â We'll definitely be back!
Ahhh Coyle's Cafe.....I've had one encounter with you on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Â I came in for a brunch and my party and I came in on a whim. Â The board outside said buffet brunch for 7.95 (or somewhere around there) and we were tempted to go in. Â Turned out to be not so bad! Â You get your standard breakfast fare, sausage(the best thing on the buffet), eggs, bacon, and toast, but you also get some extras such as french toast and a cook to order omelet. Â The food I give a 5.5/10 overall; it was actually pretty good for the price. Â Nothing spectacular, but definitely better than what we had expected for a dive-y place!
Review Source:I just want to say that I was there  the night Kelly is writing about and I agree with what she wrote, but I still had a good time. As far as the DJ, yea there were some problems but Dolly are you kidding?  I have been there before when a DJ had problems.
What I do know is that this thread has gotten a little too personal. This is a forum for peoples opinon of the place, not to rip apart someone for having an opinon that differs from your own. I noticed that Dolly and Billy never review anything, and they think that its personal for Kel
Grow up
As for my review it is a coner bar and can be a fun place, The food is just so so. Barmaid Theresa is the bars best asset.
I am only speaking to the weekend brunch they do. I have not been for dinner or to get drinks or watch a game but it has a big TV and several around the bar so im guessing it would be good for that.
The brunch however is the best deal in Manayunk/Roxbough. $8 dollars gets you all you can eat eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, pancakes, SOS, homefries and lots of fruit and desserts. They will also make omelettes to order. And all the coffee you can drink. Hands down a bargain. Def check it out.
I haven't eaten in the café portion of Coyle's, though I did go to the Rox Box one evening with a friend to watch live music.  The place reminds you of attending a concert in your friend's basement, complete with posters, framed pictures and music-related decor on the walls, as well as a bar with a limited selection of drinks.  Wasn't overly crowded, and even though my friend and I had to leave early due to time constraints, we enjoyed Betty Iron Thumbs' performance!
Review Source:Yeah this place is quite good. A really chill neighborhood bar complete with jukebox, big tv displaying sports, and someone with long hair talking about early 'Grateful Dead' records. It's nostalgic good times here. Again, I lived in this neighborhood and always enjoyed the friendly service, atmosphere, and the food.
Today I ordered a quesadilla and for a place that frankly isn't about Mex food, this was pretty rocking hardcore. The tortilla was nice and crispy with a hard taco shell crust as well. Very nice. Not to mention the shots of SO CO with lime was served in a chilled shot glass. A perfect lil' tipsy for a hot afternoon I say. So if you are coming through the Ridge Ave. area of Roxborough stop in and say hi to the awesome Coyle Family who own and run this business for years.
This place is a restaurant, bar, and very small banquet hall all in one. Now you might be put off a little by this description but trust me, they pull all this off quite well and if you frequent one you might not know about the others even though it's all in the same building.
I always thought of it as just a corner bar until I had heard someone from the neighborhood rave about the food. Well I went in the restaurant side on Connaroe Street and I was amazed at how tasteful the atmosphere was even though it's just steps from the bar. Even families were there and the waitstaff is attentive.
I had walked past the very small banquet facility on Ridge Ave. a number of times but I had never seen it used until I was invited to a meeting there and again I was impressed. The food was also good and what people didn't finish, the waitstaff put in take home containers for everyone to pick up on the way out.
Raves: The cheeseburgers, roast beef, and chicken fingers. You can also call your order in and take it out.
This place is awesome!
