I have always loved this place. There are never usually a lot of people here except for the weekends. They have separate rooms for karaoke. The drinks here are really awesome and are about average price for the area. The food on the other hand is expensive, but I normally don't get food here. I love this place because of the great people and the great drinks. They also have a very good happy hour Monday-Friday.
Review Source:4.5
Went here not too long ago for my wife's birthday party. Rented a large karaoke room and invited about 25 people to join us. The staff and servers were very accommodating and patient with our large group. The room itself was fantastic, the selection of music solid. The mics even make you sound a helluva lot better than you know you really do.
We even stuck around in the bar for a bit afterward. Really cool bartenders and the whole place is clean as a whistle. We've already been back and will hit it again when the need to sing arises. Note: parking can be tight because of the shared parking lot with the popular Honey Pig next door.
Walking into this place was like walking into a strip club in Vegas in the middle of the day. It's dark and there's lots of flashy lights and it's got an empty-ish feel, but the music is pumping.
We saddled up to the bar and ordered a couple of beers. Happy hour lasts until 9:00pm. They also have an extensive cocktail list. Happy hour beer prices were $3 to $4.
Note: There is a $20 minimum for using a credit card.
There were tons of signs about not drinking beverages, particularly of the alcoholic kind, from other establishments. You will be prosecuted! I guess that must b a problem here.
Oh, and there was a sign in the ladies room to put toilet paper in the trash and not flush it. That's a new one.
We didn't actually karaoke here as we just stopped by for a quick drink. This is more of a private room karaoke spot.
I kinda digged the strip club vibe. It's an interesting place.
Fantastic!
I'll never forget my friend's expression as we popped his Korean karaoke experience cherry. I've been to Dain a bunch of times now since it is our default karaoke venue after our KBBQ gorging. And maybe it's because I'm usually coming off a bulgolgi stupor or already drunk on large bottles of Cass, but I always have a great time at Dain.
The best part about any of these types of places is the complete mismatch between song lyrics passing across the screen while some generic Korean tragedy is playing in the background. And once you build up your list of songs, then just warm up those pipes and let it rip.
Great karaoke, but their food is really expensive. Â Would recommend dinner before going here. Â Their machine, although in Korean, is also very easy to use since they give you a somewhat understandable laminated card with instructions. Â To find newer songs (that aren't in the book), you have to search for the artist using the remote.
Review Source:I went here on a Wednesday afternoon with two friends, and it was a lot of fun. Since it was Wednesday around 6:30 or 7 it wasn't crowded at all. We only did karaoke and being underage can't say anything about the alcohol selection. The karaoke rooms were pretty spacious (I'm guessing they could fit like 10 people) and they were clean with really cool lighting.
We are big fans of k-pop and the selection of k-pop music is fantastic. Huge variety and really up to date if you use the remote to search for your songs. If you're using the remote to find k-pop songs though it really helps to be able to read Korean (which luckily I'm passable at). We did a few English/Japanese/Chinese songs as well and there's even Thai, Spanish, and Vietnamese too.
I'm definitely planning on going back and I want to stay longer than just an hour, even though the $30/hour price is a little steep for teenagers like us, it's definitely worth it.
Typical Korean karaoke place, pretty empty on a Friday night. The bar area was desolate, despite looking blue-lit and swanky.
English-language song selection contained mostly newer pop songs but without much variety. Non-alcoholic drinks was also very slight. Not a smoothie option in sight...
The psychedelic lighting in the private rooms, however, was excellent!
There are tons of karaoke spots in Annandale of course, but it is hard to find a place that serves hard liquor and has a decent English song selection. I wouldn't say this place has the best english song selection, but they serve yogurt soju!!
Also, they have a scoring system but personally I think it's inaccurate. I KNOW I sing just like Mariah Carey so how on earth would I not get a perfect 100 everytime?!? Lol  sometimes I score a 70 and sometimes I score a 99. Maybe it's the alcohol?
The song book is not well organized which is one of my biggest pet peeves. I also wish they update the book more often.
If anyone know of a karaoke spot that always offers an updated song list please let me know!!
The bfff is in town so.....
We usually hit up various karaoke private room spots
$30/hour - usual average price within area
Friday night and the karaoke rooms are gettin' packed
Remote accompanied with english instruction sheet
Appreciated using remote to locate english songs
Search by singer or song - very convenient
The system rates your performance (if you care)
Sound in our room was spectacular
Hot green tea caffeinates our performance - at $3.50 each it better
Both mics performed well during 3-hour fest
When stuck in traffic I veg to various contagious/annoying tunes
You know how traffic is 'round here - I had many to belt out...
Pestered the bfff's ears with "I Wanna Go" by BS
Settled for Korn's version of "Word Up!" since Cameo was m.i.a.
They're good in my book for english-speakers
Parking lot packed but plentiful
Over age of 21 welcome - sorry kids
You're in our rotation now
Friendly people, strong drinks, snack food is pretty decent, prices are comparable to other karaoke places here. Located next to honeypig, so its a great place to have pre dinner drinks or do karaoke!
All they need to do is update the karaoke song selection! Id give them 5 stars if they had Lonely Island songs..
DAIN is a great place that has a huge selection of songs and the service here is exceptional. If you follow the instructions placed in each room for non Korean speaking people then you can find all the recent hits using the remote while the book has all the classics. If you go on a weekend the rooms can be comped if you order enough food and drinks but on weekends this place is so packed its best to call and make reservations.
I normally go here because of the bar area, they have 4 TV's so you can watch any games or TV shows while you eat some complimentary popcorn and order some of your favorite drinks. The beer selection isn't the largest but it has a full bar so if your down with liquor then you'll be happy. The main bartender, if she's working that day is extremely helpful and can talk your ear off. No need to know how to speak Korean with her around.
The food menu is pretty good though there are some dishes you may need some help from the bartenders to help you decipher what it is. I highly suggest the wings if your craving for something to munch on while drinking or singing with your friends.
Had a great night out with a group of friends at Dain. Â We had a group of 9 people and made a reservation for a room that day for 8:00 that night. Â The rate was $40/hr for the room.
The songbooks have lots of Korean. Â But if you flip through, there will be large sections of English songs. Â Make sure to definitely request the tambourines when you get your room as they are fun and help encourage the performers! Â
The remote control is ALL in Korean so the tips on the basic buttons a previously reviewer wrote was very helpful. Â We never could get the songs to queue correctly so we took to writing down the songs we wanted on a paper napkin and typing in the next one as each song ended. Â
Service is very prompt and good. Â Soju is reasonably priced at $13 a bottle and beers are around $4-5. Â We got a couple dishes and they were pretty decent in size too. Â Water however was $2 a bottle and waiter said they DO NOT serve tap water. Â That was a bit of a rip.
All in all, we still had a great night out and Dain is a great place for Karaoke with friends.
Eh, let's just get to the heart of the matter. Â For non-Koreans (and maybe some Koreans, too?), I've provided a photo of the remote control and a guide on how to use it. Â It will get a bit confusing given that Yelp does not support Korean typing characters, but hopefully, it will help.
To input songs:
Type in the number and press the big rectangular yellow button ("reserve") underneath the blue button. Â The yellow button has the notepad looking icon on it. Â If you are successful, the song's number should appear at the top of the screen, indicating it is on deck. Â To cancel a song, when it comes on the screen, hit the red button underneath the numbers. Â If for some reason the music stops, hit the blue button ("start") above the reserve button to move on to the next song.
For other commands, starting from the upper left corner of the control box:
1. To raise or lower the pitch of the song, hit the two square yellow buttons (with the up and down arrows) on the top two rows, far left.
2. To speed up or slow down the tempo of the song, move one button over to the right from the pitch buttons.
3. To adjust the melody (not sure how this differs from pitch), move one button over to the right.
4. To adjust the echo from the mic, hit the two round yellow buttons, one over to the right of the melody buttons.
5. To adjust the volume of the mics, move one button over to the right of the echo buttons.
6. To adjust the volume of the music, move one button over to the right of the mic volume button.
7. To skip the bridge of each song and shave off a few minutes (b/c remember, you're paying by the hour!), hit the white rectangular button to the immediate right of the music volume button (right underneath that black line on the top row).
8. For applause, hit the rectangular gray button immediately below the music volume buttons (4th column from the left).
9. To turn off the scoring system (in case you're getting terrible scores or you just want to save time), hit the 2nd rectangular gray button in the third column from the left.
I refuse to translate any more buttons, partly because you will probably never use them, but mostly because I have a headache now. Â It would be a lot easier if these places would get the English controls (which definitely exist!).
Rest of the review:
We didn't go to the bar at all, so this review is strictly for the private karaoke room. Â We had the room for 1.5 hours and we each had a beer. Â The cost of the room was $40/hour for 8 people, and we ended up paying $11 per person, so it was ok (though there are cheaper places). Â I usually go to Cafe U&I, but we had already eaten at Honey Pig and didn't want to move our cars, so we just walked over here.
The rooms are clean, the song list is pretty extensive (the American song selection is pretty decent, more up-to-date than at Cafe U&I), and the equipment worked just fine. Â We had a great time, and they even provided us with tambourines (upon request) that lit up every time you hit them! Â I also like how a lot of karaoke places now have screens on the front and back walls of each room so that a singer can face his/her audience and still read the lyrics (but for the pros, you already had those lyrics memorized, didn't you?).
Four and a half stars, and rounding up since out of the karaoke venues I've tried since then, none have managed to outperform Dain. Â To say that it took me a day or two to recover would be woefully accurate. Â So much soju! Â The pineapple cocktail tasted like danger punch, delicious and sly on the inebriation. Â Popcorn was salted perfectly and far more appetizing than the concept of bar nuts, but they staled quickly as they cooled. Â Wings were breaded and cooked in the style that all Asian parents know, and the thinly sliced salad with thousand island dressing gave me fond memories of LA's Little Tokyo.
Female bartenders were all scantily clad in the style of an Asian Hooters to entice the lonely daddies out drinking. Â Our room servers were quiet and attentive enough to respond promptly when we buzzed for more refreshments. Â Pitchers of water were as welcome as the bottles of soju and beer. Â Clean bathrooms with multiple stalls. Â Screens on both sides of the room so the audience could see the expressions on the performers faces, and disco lights rampant to set the mood. Â Visual accompaniment was far more likely to be Asian short films than official music videos, and the rating system was fun albeit inconsistent. Â The modulation of the microphones improved average voice quality, to our profound joy. Â Much dancing, singing, and tambourine smacking was done, but many of us had to step out for fresh air as our rowdiness turned our sardine can into a sauna.
I tried typing my notes from this UYE into something fairly coherent but in a way it's almost more fun to leave the rest as a muddled list. Â Random moments of the night included:
Hyunoo and I having a heart-to-heart on the way in from the parking space on the back street, since the small shared lot was full.
BooM and I faltering past the chorus for Electric Six - Gay Bar.
Passing around Carolyn B's white tiger hat.
Trying to unobtrusively take pictures with the flash off, only to have my camera befuddled by the disco lights.
GE GE GE, BABY BABY BABE, OH NO NO NO NO, GE GE GE BABY BABY BABY, OH YEAH YEAH YEAH!
I can't imagine a better way to have popped my karaoke cherry. Â Many friends were in force, both old and freshly made. Â I came drunk, and left drunk and liberated.
For my 300th review all I can say is:
Don't go sober. Â Unless you're alone
This could possibly a filipina's wet dream. Â Low lighting, full bar, very cool menu for snacks, and more karaoke than a person should be allowed to do publicly, ever.
My first experience of Dain was a UYE Â (there have been so many times now I think I'm losing count. Â Don't judge) Â Its safe to assume that the musical choices are diverse. Â
*Radiohead
*The Coors (mine!)
*U2
*Guns N Roses
*Ke$ha
*Britney Spears
*Madonna (mine!)
*Wonder Girls
*Matchbox 20
*Bon Jovi
*LeAnne Rhimes
Something for everyone... And the great thing about Dain is the privacy. Â Let's say you're not as talented as the members of the filipino mafia (shout out!) but you really want to get a certain Billy Joel song off your chest, and the last time you did it in traffic you were pulled over for disturbing the peace, although you had the windows up... Damn cops in virginia... Â You can come here with the door closed (put your coat on the hanger so people (like me) can't peek in) and let it rip. Â Off key, on key, alone, or with 20 people, it makes no difference. Â The price is the same ( they charge by hour based on room size).
Its a great liaison for the rest of the night after gorging yourself next door at the mecca that is HP. Â Bring your confidence, your friends, and your wallet. Â You're gonna need it.
Love this Korean style singing room. Â It was a lot cleaner and nicer than some of the other ones I've been to, they have the call button if you need anything, and their equipment worked well. Â Just like other places, their song selection is mixed with old tunes, random tunes you've never heard of, and a few newer ones. Â I never expect these places to have newish tunes, but they did here....for instance, who knew that they'd have Dick in a Box? Â Not I. Â It was more expensive than I thought ($30/hr) but it was a good time nonetheless.
Review Source:As the crowd dwindled, we continued with the UYE at first was the Honey Pig nightclub but it turned out it was closed and right next to it was the Dain Cafe - we decided why not. The club was dim with laser beams shooting everywhere landing on our faces like we were going to get shot. It was quite funny. We stood out being the non-Korean crowd and we sat at the table whereas everyone else were at the bar. We got hungry again so we ordered the chicken wings. As usual the waitress served pop corn to us and we continued with lactobacillus souju cocktail - it was such a good drink. The wings were fantastic - it was super crunchy I have to say it's as good as fried chicken gets. Plus the hot sauce served with went well - a bit of sweet and spicy. The souju cocktail came in twins bottles by that time we really just wanted 3rd but ended getting the 4th bottle which we didn't drink. What an awesome night! Fun times!
Review Source:For the closet American Idol wanna-be, come here after a meal at Honey Pig Korean BBQ next door and revel to your friends' lucid rendition of today's hit music! The song book is large and includes international tunes so there is something for everybody. Â Watch your time though because the room charge can be expensive. Â Food and drink service is provided.
Review Source:***3.5 Stars***
Okay, so as a married Daddy of two I haven't been out singing with a group of friends for almost two years. The last time I was in Annandale for a Karaoke outing we were at some tiny place next to the Safeway on Little River Tpk. Â That place was small, the song selections limited and their lack of a liquor license prevented them from serving tasty beverages.
Two years later imagine my surprise when on a faboo UYE Karaoke outing (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/events/annandale-not-yours-his-or-hers-its-mai-k-a-r-a-o-k-e">http://www.yelp.com/even…</a>) we hit Dain Cafe & Karaoke for a song filled night of fun. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, I recognized that the Dain building used to be a huge Citizens Bank many many years ago that now appeared to have been split into a Bank of America, Honey Pig restaurant and Dain Cafe.
Walking inside Dain, it boasted a cool trendy layout with dark moody lighting being kept in check by light from a huge projection screen showing some random Korean movie. Â The bar was well stocked with many poisons of choice necessary for the successful creation of any tasty beverage you could desire or imagine. Â "I'll have a Dirty Sanchez please!"
Once we greeted the Yelpers and said our hellos, we were whisked to a private Karaoke room large enough to house our growing group of 15 people. Â The room was equipped with a trippy laser light show set-up and speakers that rocked your eardrums. Â In the front of our room was a large flat-screen TV and a smaller one was at the far end of the room.
The song selection of Dain was great, but it seemed that 75% of the songs in their books were written in Korean. All songs listed in English were also sandwiched between more Korean songs/writing. Â I no habla Korean, but I tried my best to find the few songs I knew that were intermingled among the Korean songs...Korean songs peppered throughout the English song choices making me wish Lester was with me so he could help me pick out a song as I rubbed his shaved head for good luck.
The audio equipment was great and the mics stood up well to all the Yelper inflicted abuse of screams, Farzan's Creed song choices, mic drops and drooling that ensued for most of the night. Â As mentioned in Big Ben's review, there was a "magic" button on the table that when pressed would quickly summon a member of the staff to fetch drinks, water or more popcorn. I made the mistake of pressing this button multiple times when first arriving in the room earning the frequent and frustrated visits from the Dain staff.
I would have given Dain 4 or 4.5 stars had it not been for the following two gripes:
- Higher price on their Karaoke rooms than other places in Annandale
- Lack of ventilation in the Karaoke room. With over 15 people our room became a stuffy sauna that made me sweat like a fat boy running a 10 mile race. Â :-)
- Lack of an all English songbook. Â Would've made it easier to find songs quickly had it not been for the crazy organization of their mostly-Korean song choices.
All in all we all had an amazing time and I wouldn't mind going back with the same group of fun people. Â I'll just make sure to kidnap Lester for the next visit so he can help me navigate past all the Korean songs and writing in the Dain song books. Â :-)
So what do you do when you had too much Korean BBQ, Soju, rice wine, and beer? You stumble next door to do Karaoke off course. But this isn't America Karaoke son, this is Korean Karaoke and that means things are at the next level....
Walking in with some Yelpers I thought maybe we had accidentally walked into a massage parlor (my Korean isn't very good :). They walked us down the hall and let us into our private room. But there were no masseuses, just a couple big flat screens, some kick ass remotes, and a magic button (more on that later).
That's right, you are not up in front of a crowd of strangers slaughtering Aerosmith, you are in your own private room so only your friends have to suffer. Â There is a window in the door so others can peak in, but you can fix that with a jacket over the window and then who knows what you can get up to while channeling Isaac Hayes.
But you won't be seeing Isaac Hayes or Aerosmith either, because you are not going to see the real videos on those big screen TVs. You are going to be seeing Korean soap opera vignettes, boy in black finds girl, other boy in white finds same girl, first boy jumps in front of second boy's white car, but second boy is ok and then shoots first boy, girl drops her rose, its complicated, just sing...
That right sing, you pay by the hour and then can slaughter any song you want. Assuming you can find it - Â 90% of the songs descriptions are Korean, but there is a Pop section in the middle of the book and you should be able to find most of your favorites. But I wouldn't pick your very favorite, because it might not be your favorite after you hear your friend's rip it a new one.
And while you are singing you can use the mega-remote to choose the next song. But don't stop there, because this remote is serious, its has like a 100 buttons on it. They are all in Korean though, which is a shame because some of them do fun things. Like show applause, or speed up the pace of your friend's slow song so you can get to your much cooler song faster. Or slow it down, I'll take my Kanye West song Isaac-Hayes-style please...
(Isaac seems to be getting a lot love from me today, guess I have forgiven him for leaving South Park)
All the remote buttons are nice, but the most important button in the room is the magic button. It's attached to the table, and when you press it a member of the staff appears (quickly). More beer? Â - hit the button, Soju - button, too hot - button, still too hot - button, more popcorn to throw at the screen because the machine keeps giving us a 00 music score (whatever that is) - button.
In the end we stayed too long and drank too much (I am soooooo glad I wasn't driving - Thanks Kat). But that is what Karaoke is about, right?
My name is Anson and I'm a closet karaoke singer. Â However, much like Popeye needs spinach, I require alcohol aka liquid courage (or liquid harmony according to Jack F., or liquid talent according to Nick R.). Â Every so often, a guy needs to just get all that frustration and angst out with an intense karaoke session. Â It just might be the key to world peace...or more war depending on who you go with.
The check-in process was fairly simple. Â By the time I walked in (I was 30 seconds behind the group), everyone was already in the karaoke room. Â A few bottles of soju later and there were possibly 20 songs programmed into the playlist. Â The room was pretty big and more than accommodated our group. Â With 10 or more people, you can have the feel of your own night club without having to worry about getting accosted (depending on who you go with) or puked on (again...depending on who you go with). Â We probably could have fit more people in there. Â I have no idea what the limit is.
The music selection is varied enough such that you can find a song to your liking. Â Two remotes and all you do is enter in the numbers. Â Everything from Madonna and Rihanna to Iron Maiden (don't ask) and Guns N' Roses. Â I admit that I was surprised to see "I'm on a Boat" on that playlist. Â The best part of this karaoke experience is the irrelevant videos that go with the songs. Â There's something a little off when you're watching a Korean military video while listening to "Like A Virgin". Â At some point during the night, we must have cycled through all of the melodrama videos because Dance Dance Revolution videos started appearing. Â And what karaoke experience isn't complete without a Black Eyed Peas song? Â (In this case, "I Gotta Feeling")
Service was pretty good. Â Every time you hit the service button, someone appeared within a couple of seconds to bring beer, soju, popcorn, or limited technical support. Â The mic went out a couple of times and the scoring system didn't appear to be working.
With alcohol and everything, the price came out to around 30-35 per person for the group. Â Not horrible. Â Also, I guess they have assumed a cash only policy as a few members of the group had to make an ATM run (Bank of America is next door). Â
Parking can be an issue because this is a small lot and it is shared with Honey Pig. Â You might be better off parking on a side street or across Columbia Pike. Â Overall, I can definitely think of worse things to do until 2 am. Â Also remember, friends don't let friends sing "Hey Ya."
Move over N'Sync and 98 degrees because there's a new boy band in town with vocal styling as varied as Guns & Roses ("Welcome to the Jungle") and Lonely Island ("D*ck in the Box"). Here's a shout out to the Yelpstreet Boys*:
The Heart Throb - Dave R.
The Shy One - Anthony H.
The Rebel - Ben M.
The Older Brother - Tony P.
The Cute One - Nick R.
The Sporty One - Jack F.
The Fly One - Hilvic N.
The Baby - Anson P.
All in all, Dain is a convenient way to continue your party from Honey Pig next door. Â Kick off with Liquid Harmony (a.k.a. soju), which doesn't really make you sound any better ... but it'll make everybody else sound like they're actually signing. Â Dain has rooms that are large enough to accommodate 14+ people with plenty of space for dancing. Â The music selection is slightly larger than ARA with a recent additions you won't find at ARA. Â Although prices seem to be just as steep as ARA ($35/pp for 3-4 hours + 5 bottles of soju?). Â My other compliant? Â The scoring system malfunctioned so everybody scored 00.
* Close approximations to 2GE+HER and Spice Girl personalities after several shots of soju.

**3.5**
I had to idea what to expect before coming here, but I knew that my brother had hung out here. His tastes are very different than mine, and he comes here often, so I wasn't expecting to stay long or enjoy myself (but I had to go for a friend's birthday).
The parking lot here is ridiculous... Since Dain is right next to Honey Pig, good luck finding a space. We ended up parking in a lot across the street that said we'd be towed, but we ended up parking there anyway.
Upon entrance, I was surprised. The place looked nice: a station to the left where the workers were (to answer calls from rooms, but I will get to that later), to the right a trendy, clean space with a nice bar, TVs, (moderately loud) music, and plenty of tables.
Turn the corner past the welcome station and there is a bunch of private rooms that can be rented out. I think it was $60 per hour for the room, but they offered to waive that fee if the group reached a $300/$350 tab.
The room was nice- lots of space, comfy couches and huge tables. Two screens to ready lyrics off of with a huge selection of Korean songs, a good amount of Chinese, and mostly various hits from the 90s (and more recent) in English. There is a call button on the end of the table that you can press and a waiter will come to your room and take your order, so you don't have to keep running to the bar for food or drinks. The remote (a huge square thing) has tons of buttons, but you really only need to use the number keys as well as the green button (play), red button (stop/cancel), and the queue button (saves playlist, button looks like a list icon).
Waiters speak English, but have some trouble with drinks (I had to write "red headed slut") on the pad for him. Very nice, though and were very forgiving/understanding of the sometimes obnoxious party I was with (people who kept ignoring the call button, knocking over waiters, spilling drinks, not closing the room door, cramming over 30 people into one room, etc.)
If I was in the mood for karaoke, I'd probably hit this place up again.
I don't understand why this place isn't popular...Their song lists are up to date and Dain is the largest and the cleanest karaoke bar in Annandale. What more can you ask for?
They need to improve the bar section though.
I really hope this place picks up. I'd hate to see it shut down. It's seriously the best karaoke place in town.
::Update::
This place needs to offer more specials and discounts.
*chugs haterade*
are you f'ing kidding me?
went there after making rounds at usual annandale bars for some karaoke action on friday night.
place was emptied out and dead at 2am. Â the place is supposed to open til 3am. Â we roll in, fully expecting an hour of karaoke mayhem 'veni, vidi, vici' style.
the employee tells us, manager says there are no other customers and we're closing right now .
wtf?
wtf?
wtf?
such blasphemy! Â such that it deserves triple wtf's.
and to add to an insult, manager comes out and says, minimum is $300 if you want to stay. Â
please, get the f outta here, is you from planet uranus???!?
karaoke used to be $20 an hour back in 1999, the year is 2009, not 3009!!?
it's insane, it's absurd, and it's down right insulting.
an epic fail.
Another Karaoke Bar right next to popular 24hours Korean BBQ joint and Bank of America. Not bad for me but not a huge fan. Group of friends came and met another group of friends that was sitting there then we decided to go to the bar. First of all its kinda cold place. Decor is nice as shown on the pictures. we drank hardcore liquor and what a rip off. i could get better price then other Karaoke Bar. Service is ok. Cute bartenders. none of the customers were there beside us at other night. music is loud up to date songs and two flat screens with huge projector screen. If u walk behind there's a private rooms of karaoke i mean plenty alot. bathroom decor is latest design model and much cleaner. I would come again if i don't pay for it.
1 thing...their price is way overly charged...so please go elsewhere
So this was my first time to a private room karaoke bar (yes, sad but true). Â But I guess since I now live in Annandale, aka little Korea it was time to try this. Â I must say I had a fabulous time! Â
Aside from the crazy music system that I could never have figured out without the help of my friends and our very helpful waiters I think everything went superb. Â The rooms are big, clean and do not smell smoky at all even for the small one which we were in. Â From what I saw of the main bar everything looked modern and funky.
From what my girlfriends who are use to going to Cafe Muse said, the English song selection (POP) is not that large. Â But all the song that I like to Karaoke to were there and some that I was shocked to be there. Â I did not know that Phantom of the Opera was a Karaoke song but one of our girls sang it well.
The atmosphere and friendly service was awesome.
I only wish it was open during the day cause I would find an excuse to go. Â We were there celebrating the birthday of my girlfriend and what was going to be a simple have a couple of drinks and sing a few songs turned out to be 3 straight hours of belting music and having fun. Â I am already writing down my list for our next visit.
Came here on a Friday evening with a friend to have a few beers. I was quite impressed with the ambiance of this place. Nice, clean, soft lighting, interesting decore, etc. There are several private rooms for karaoke. We sat at the bar with a bunch of other guys, but spent a lot of time speaking to the cute bartenders. This didn't seem to be a place that caters ONLY to fobby Koreans. Bartenders were comfortable speaking both English and Korean. Customers were mostly Koreans, but there were a few caucasians.
The have TV's that were set on sports channels, but without the volume. Parking is a pain in the butt in this small lot. We had to park across the street at Giant and walk over.
I had a good time here, and will probably be back.
I know Gina had some shady moves pulled on her, Gina, I got your back (and them back).
On my second visit, I had as much fun as the first. I don't know if the bill was the same because we moved to the bar last time I was here with Yelpers, and in my classic drunken disappearance act I only paid one of the bills.
We drank and sang for about three hours, eight of us, and the bill was right around $200. I checked my bank statement and the amount I put on my card was the amount that went through!
It was a birthday, and we had a cake. Our server was plenty polite and even brought forks and plates.
As a parting gift, I took the light-up tambourine as well as a giant tree from the foyer. This drunken move is a new one, however. I've never gone thief-mode before. Oops!
I'll bring 'em back on my next visit.
just stopped by here the other day after i ate at ggool dwae ji or (honey pig) and i absolutely loved it! the interior was really modern and unique. the music seemed to be mixed with korean and american but i really liked it - most important is the atmosphere & service. absolutely LOVED the atmosphere and the waiters were always checking up on our table cleaning what needed to be cleaned and asking us if we need anything often. after we drank a bit at the bar we went to  one of the karaoke rooms and sang for 2 hours straight! karoake rooms are really spacious and nice - i'm considering to have my birthday party here next month.
Review Source:I returned to this place this weekend to get things resolved. Â Unfortunately, we had to meet some friends after dinner at Honey Pig, and they decided to hang out here. Â I decided I would resolve this bill issue on my way out and in the meantime, provide them with more business... =(
As we were leaving, we spoke with both the manager, and a woman I assume was the owner/owner's wife. Â As we argued with them (my brother stepped up with me), the owner was not apologetic and basically shoved my money onto the counter. Â How effin' rude! Â I was considering taking the money, but because of her attitude, I told her I didn't want it in cash and wanted it returned back onto my card. Â She was extremely annoyed and wanted to know why. Â I explained that if something like this ever happened again, I would have evidence of their wrongdoing to backup my claim when I pressed charges. *patting myself on my shoulder. Â She told me they would speak with the financial institution and get back to me... and that was the end of that. Â
As we walked out, she muttered something to the extent of "geez, over a few stinkin' bucks..." Â My brother heard, and stopped midstep and argued that this was not about the money... it was about the principle! Â
The manager called the next day to explain the money would be back on my card this week. Â We'll see how long they make me wait.
