Breeze is a bakery, with a bunch of extras. Â There is a lot of shelf space for baked goods. Â Unfortunately, even though we got there somewhat early in the evening (~7PM) it looked like they were sold out of a lot of things. Â There were a decent number of samples out for the things that they had left though, and most of them were pretty good.
The bingsoo was disappointing. Â I ordered a yogurt bingsoo, which was ice with syrup, topped with mochi, fruit, and frozen yogurt. Â Also, surprisingly, cornflakes, which I hadn't seen before but were pretty good. Â The yogurt flavor went well with the fruit/ice, and the mochi was fine. Â However, the ice was a whole lot of fail. Â The top half was coarse but passable, but somehow the bottom half solidified into one huge chunk. Â
4 stars for baked goods, 2 stars for the bingsoo.
I love Breeze and I wish that they would franchise so that there would be more throughout NOVA because they are clearly doing something right! Â The atmosphere is great: two levels and an outdoor deck. Â There are tons of tables for you to just sit at and enjoy a snack or drink with a couple of friends, get some studying or work done by yourself, or finish off a great night with dessert. Â Their hours are ridiculous (as in awesome) and they are conveniently located next to Yechon so if you happen to try to walk into Yechon on a weekend night thinking you'll be seated right away....you can hang out at Breeze while you wait.
They have a plentiful selection of baked goods, slices of cake, bingsoo, tea, coffee, etc. Â The Asian baked goods are delicious and they have lots of yummy samples to help you get an idea of which one to buy. Â I recently tried a hazelnut cream *insert bread name because I can't remember it* of something awesome and it was delicious. Â Also, I've tried a coffee-flavored sponge cake with layers of phyllo dough in between--sinfully delicious. Â I haven't been WOW-ed by their selection of drinks (especially with the prices)...but I'm a coffee snob. Â That would be the only reason why I wouldn't give them 5 stars.
Service is great. Â Prompt, friendly, and very helpful. Â They maintain the clean and vibrant atmosphere well. Â Free wifi and no judgement if you stay there for hours making use of it. (Hey, when I'm in the "zone" it's hard to break out of it and switch surroundings). Â Anyway, I love this place and I always make a point of making a visit whenever I'm in the area.
