I came into this bar randomly to use the bathroom during a long walk and discovered that what I thought was a little bar was actually a bar with a restaurant in the back and a full menu. On my return walk me and my friend decided to stop in. It was 4pm on a Monday and there were a few other people at the bar. Older, working class locals. Music was top 40, internet jukebox was down that day, TV tuned to a soccer game, and *ahem* a golf arcade game in the back.

Our bartender Judie was fantastic. I never got down to just ice cubes in my rum and coke, she was super attentive and always had a refill ready. And sure it was slow, but we've all been served by *that* bartender before, the one who would rather text or whatnot then serve their few customers. She was really awesome and super friendly.

Burger was solid, and the build your own burger option is great (they have tons of toppings). I tried the pulled pork and it didn't really do it for me. The sauce was solid but the meat wasn't...quite pulled, didn't have the shredded quality, it was actually very chunky, but the meat was tender just not what I was looking for. Next time I'll definitely stick to the burger. The steak fries are excellent.

I've noticed a lot of bad reviews about the management and such. While I didn't run into any of that while I was here, since the jukebox was broken, and once it was only me, my friend, and a regular we had been chatting with, I made a request I never make. I asked her to change the radio station. She said she'd be happy to but her manager doesn't allow her to change the music. What a drag. So I guess I could see where there are some aspects of the place that aren't as laid back or customer service oriented as they could be, but if you want a bar with decent food (and not a restaurant with a bar) you should be more then satisfied.

YELP DISCOUNT FAIL

But more on that in a bit...

I arrived at Danny Boys late last night. I met some friends here before an event. I was late because I drove right past the place. I'm not used to driving in NY. And yeah yeah, this is Queens but still, kinda out of my comfort zone. I ended up driving around the block and parking a couple streets away. You can find parking on any of the back streets but out in front is gonna be tough any given evening.

I was only at Danny Boys (should there be an apostrophe in there?) for about an hour. My friends, having arrived early, ordered a plate of wings at 25 cents each. This is a typical deal you can find in many good bars all over the country, no doubt. Danny Boys wings were hot and spicy and delicious. The Smithwick's beer I had was a fine one indeed. No complaints about food or drink. In fact, I'm sorry I didn't have more time to eat from their extensive menu. We only sat at the bar. There is a full restaurant in back that looks nice and reviews well.

Here's the problem--I often check in to places on Yelp. I don't know if you would call it habit or obsession or just another reason to be social with a community of strangers for whatever bizarre egotistical, masochistic reasons. Doesn't matter. Whatever the case may be, I very seldom get a neato discount by checking into different establishments. VERY seldom. Last night, a 10% discount popped up on my phone when I checked into Danny Boys. Score! This was literally only the second time I have ever seen such a thing happen. And though you feel a little dorky doing it, you gotta show your server the coupon. So I did. And the bartender explained that the 10% discount did not apply because we already had another special--the 25 cent wings.

It's really not about the money at all. And it probably said something about the caveat in the fine print of the Yelp coupon. But 10% of what we ordered in less than an hour would have come to like 4 or 5 bucks tops. No big whoop on either end, ours or theirs... but why offer the coupon at all? What made matters worse was that we did not finish the plate of wings we ordered and my friend asked the bartender to please box it up. She said she could not. It was highly frowned upon by management to do so. Why? Because the 25 cent wing special is such a good deal, she said. Um, alright. I guess. But here's my question... what happened to the remaining 8 buffalo wings we did not finish? I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say they got tossed in the trash. What's the sense in that?

It's just the practices that bother me here. Otherwise, I think Danny Boys is a very nice pub. If I lived anywhere near there, I'd be happy to go back, sit in the restaurant, and try the shepherd's pie. It's just unfortunate that the offers they themselves offer are kinda a joke.

Best wings around and for 25 cents a piece on Wednesdays you can't go wrong. The wings are huge and they have plenty of sauces to choose from. Burgers are great and salads are good too. They make a good Gin and Tonic as well. During the week it's usually not crowded at all. The service is nice and very friendly. It's a good meal and cheap too.

When ordering the appetizer, it took 40 minutes before we got our only appetizer of 10 wings. Had requested for mild buffalo wings and when the wings came it had marinara sauce on it. When questioning the waitress on the wings, she had no clue what if mild wings were suppose to have marinara sauce or not and brought it back to the kitchen and came back out with the dish. The waitresses were sitting at this table and did not even pay attention to us. I had finished my drink within 15 minutes and was never asked for another the whole time there. The actual lobster bake came out around 50 minutes after taking the order and I can tell you that it was definitely not worth the $90 value. The lobster was a pound at most and was overcooked to the point that the meat had shrunk, the bbq chicken was very very dry, the sausage was just regular sausage, the corn was okay, the clams were overdone and there were clams that had cracked and damaged shells which when raw means they were dead yet were still cooked and put into the bake and lastly the amount of potatoes in the bake was just ridiculous. After this experience, I would never go back, nor would I recommend anyone to go there. I would actually deter people from going there due to poor food quality and lack of service. The only people that I saw there were the ones who were there for 25 cent wings or for their martini and burger specials. Other than that I don't think anyone would go eat there. I can't comment on the bar side if their drinks were good or not. The Honker beer that I tried was not bad.

I first came to this place over a year ago. My first experience was so good that I decided to buy a http://Restaurant.com gift certificate which never expires. On one Saturday evening, my friends and I decided to go to dinner and use the gift certificate. I told them how good this place was....We walk in and the first thing we notice is a certain smell. Some might call it a stench...as if they washed their tables with dirty bathroom water. The next thing we notice is that it is empty on a Saturday night. The host/owner (?) at first is very gracious and welcomes us in, cracking jokes and stuff, he tells us to sit where we want (because the place is empty). We sit and he sees the http://Restaurant.com gift certificate, he immediately says "oh we don't accept those anymore." I think he's kidding and laugh but he is serious. He tells me they stopped doing business with them. I say "so you won't honor the gift certificate? I mean I already bought it." He will not. And the thing is he was so curt and cold about it, that it made us feel very awkward and dejected. We decide to stay anyway and my friend orders a beer. While we wait for the beer, the smell of the place and the coldness of the host/owner (?) grew and when the waiter came back and said they didn't have the beer my friend ordered, that was our sign to leave. We left and I will never go back.

Bought a Groupon for Weekend Brunch for 2 for an amazing price. Came with 1 Side, 2 entrees and 4 Mimosas or Bloody Mary. Walked in around 1:30pm and no one greeted us. We stood looking around for about 5 minutes before one of the waitresses came over asked us how many, my name then jetted away. There were about 6 unoccupied tables BUT they all were not cleaned or cleared from the previous customers. Waited a good 30 min until finally we were seated. Another couple asked how long there wait was and the waitress looked utterly flustered at the question answering well i have no clue I mean we have to clear tables. Unheard of to clear tables lol.....anyway after 10 minutes of sitting a waitress comes over takes our order really quick and walks away.....BUT SHE DIDN'T TAKE OUR DRINK ORDER!!!!!!!!! Took another 10 minutes to flag her down to ask for our Mimosa. Food took forever to come. We asked for our other 2 Mimosa that was included in the Groupon but I was told they ran out of champagne. So I asked for just orange juice. MY JUICE NEVER CAME........BUT ODD THAT 10 MINUTES LATER THE OTHER TABLE WAS SERVED MIMOSAS.......HMMMMMMMMMM and this place is a BAR. Needless to say I will NEVER return. And NO I didn't leave a tip.

Local pub for Brunch, Food was good. Service a little lacking. They needed more staff on for Brunch. But the Brunch food was typical but good. Usual mimosas or bloody marys, the corned beef hash was home made. I'd definitively order that one again.

This has always been a neighborhood spot for Middle Village. The food has dramatically gotten better from a few years back. Im not sure if this place got new owners or a new chef but its working. I went here on a Monday and they had a burger special for about 6 bucks. The burger was great and their wings are fantastic. Typical pub prices and good seating area as well.

I came here with a girlfriend for Wednesday 25cent wing night. The minimum order is 10 wings per flavor. They have several options. The wings came pretty quick. The chicken itself was cooked, yet wasn't that hot when it came to us. Also, the disappointing part was the chicken wasn't juicy and saucy as I had expected wings to be. (Wingstop offers jucier chicken wings.) We still ate 26 out of 30 that we ordered. It satisfied our wings cravings for the night, but we will order different flavors if we ever come back.

Buffalo Hot - Very weak! Not hot at all. I thought they got our order wrong and gave us mild. :( Though it was the best out of the three because I love blue cheese with it.
Thai Chili - Just ok, but you'd think it would be spicy considering the name. No kick to this one either.
Mango Habanero - My least favorite. Too sweet, yet bland. I was only able to eat two.

The place was not packed at all. Nothing fancy about it and it looked clean. The bathroom was really clean. They probably have the usual customers, but they need serious advertising, unless they like it quiet. I'm not too excited to go back, but the 25cent wing is a really good deal, so I may just be tempted...

Mondays & Wednesday nights are 25¢ wing nights which is awesome! Nice chill spot to bring a date or some friends and have dinner here. The steak quesadilla's here are so damn good. That's probably my go to every time from now on especially if it's not wing night... And for all the weirdos out there that like clams, go on Thursday nights and fill yourselves up with 25¢ clam night (barf)

Been to Danny Boy's several times. We enjoyed the food and all who work there were accommodating. Went back with my husband and sister- in-law (who was visiting from Florida) a few months ago. It was a cold night and pouring rain. We happened to have a http://Restaurant.com certificate. We were told that they are no longer accepting these certificates. We asked the waitress to speak to the manager. She took the certificate and said that she would be right back only to return to tell us, "No, we are no longer accepting http://Restaurant.Com certificates." There were no signs informing the public of this and I feel we could have at least been given the opportunity to talk to the manager or been given some sort of courtesy. We stayed, ate quickly, and left only because of the horrible weather. I am disappointed with the customer service and that no adjustment was made for us. We won't be back.

Came because we had a groupon and wanted to try a local place. Asked server for recommendation on which steak I should order since I could have either one with the groupon. He recommended the skirt steak "it's his favorite." over the more expensive one. I should have gone with my gut as the steak turned out to be kinda tough. My wife's pork chops were excellent though. We arrived before 5pm on a monday, a slow day and early for dinner in this area yet they were out of the mozzarella appetizer already!? How does that happen? Go next door to the pizza place and buy some mozzarella , slice it up and you make 4 to 5 times what you paid for it!
Instead we got the 1/2 rack of ribs which were really great! Meat fell right off the bone and they weren't all sloppy.
Service was ok. I got the feeling the waiter was new as he only had 4 tables to deal with and while he was definitely trying, he needed some polish as to his wait skills. I had to ask for butter for the baked potato, which took a while to get and then it was 2 wrapped pats of butter he carried out in his hand. I was gonna ask for more but we didn't see him for awhile and by then my potato was cold anyway and my wife had her mashed potatoes dry. Hint to staff, if someone orders a potato, either bring out butter (on a plate) or at least ask if they want any when they order it! I wasn't even gonna try for the sour cream!
I asked for water for us and he brought out one for me, didn't ask if my wife wanted one also which is what I meant. Had to ask for steak sauce, should have been offered.
The couple at the next table sent back their chicken appetizer which wasn't fully cooked. Though they said the curry was excellent.
We had 2 beers and the cost of the meal would have come to about $70! With the cost of the groupon and the tip and an extra beer, the whole thing came to $45.
I would definitely go back on a Mon night for the burger special though.
So overall, food and service were hit or miss, lower end specials on different nights for those on a budget. Great ribs, ok steak. Mediocre but friendly service.

Local bar, pretty tiny. Good for MNF and a burger. I "hear" there's a back room that large, but I've actually never made it past the bar. Drinks are cold, food is decent, nothing to write home about, but no reason to avoid this place either.

On approach you're thinking it's an old man's bar and even after entering the front door your first instinct is almost true. Not an exciting selection of draft beers, pretty much the basics. We came for the Wednesday night .25 wings. They offer over 10 varieties which is impressive.

After having a beer in the front bar, the rest of our group arrived and we took the wing gathering to the back dining room. Much different atmosphere. Fairly large with almost every inch of the walls covered in signage. I shared 30 wings. You can order flavors in 10 wing increments. I enjoyed in order of preference from favorite to mediocre Jack Daniels, Thai Chili and Mango Habanero. Wings were meaty and they supplied plenty of blue cheese dressing for dipping..

The entire bar/restaurant was pretty dead for a wing night, but the rainy weather might have kept people in their homes. They have the MLB package, but only 4 tv's all located in the front bar. Mon and Wed nights are .25 wings. Taco Tuesdays and .25 clam night on Thursdays. Not sure if it's the best place for clams, but you will find me here again for their wings.

I love wing night.

25 cents a wing on Monday AND Wednesday nights.
25 cents a clam on Thursday nights.
$1 a taco on Tuesday nights.
$25 for a beer tap that serves 8 beers.
$13.95 for their Irish brunch buffet.

Those are some serious deals, but I like wing night.
And the wings are above average!
They have at least 10 different sauces to choose from. The mango habanero was my favorite.

The bartenders, waitresses and waiters were all very kind and accommodating, no complaints there. And they have a nice outdoor patio!

Came to the restaurant portion of this local pub after a mass service for dinner with the family. The menu is rich with Irish dishes, all of which sound completely delightful. Unfortunately, when they actually ended up in front of you there is a lot to be desired. The mashed potatoes had a definite salty instant after taste to them, the meat was mostly overcooked and tough, and there really wasn't any compelling component to the meal at all.

The absolute worst part was the service. The manager was actually more helpful and took better care of our needs than the servers did, which I think is a tell tale sign that they need to get rid of the servers (even though they are young and pretty) and get some real help.

I heard Wednesday Wing Nite is awesome and they have a great bartender... but I'm not willing to take that risk unless I have absolutely nothing to do, not even watch paint dry, on a Wednesday night.

At least they know what a buffalo wing is. George, the bartender was really pleasant to me. And there was this character, Kenny M, who is obsessed with the video poker machine even though he knows he can't win. Hmmm. There are TVs with the games on. The people are nice. I went myself for the Wednesday night 25¢ wings. They were good, they were real! hehee. Jim was sitting next to me keeping me company. It was a local, small, friendly place. Am I going back for the wings, sure.

so 3 Polacks walk into a Irish bar in Queens..... must I finish?

Needless to say, we were not well-received, but rightfully so- I mean we just have cash in our pockets and are looking for a place to watch the hockey game. anyway we lost and

Danny Boy, you win - I thought the weird birthmark on my ass that looks like the logo of this secret society was enough to get me in- wrong.  :{

Your goal to alienate the newcomers who only come on 10 cent wing nite, accomplished. we didnt tell you to offer this ridiculous deal.

The way you left me feeling after eating said wings, happy- ready to watch the shitty Rangers lose, but also ready to leave big tip as a dowry of sorts so as I maybe, just maybe will be recognized as a acceptable customer

Getting charged 25 cents for wings!, this made me really mad because no matter what this Danny Boy Bastard (yes, capital B) tells me, I know hes charging 10 cents to all these other fine patrons.

But like I said, Danny wins- his goal is to keep us out was realized. I had been going for a couple of weeks, and now- never again.

George the bartender is always on point! The food is good- they even have clam bake specials sometimes (you have to order in advance)! The owner is very nice-you Cannot wear tank tops men or else you really wont be allowed in. The service in teh restaurant in teh back is slow but at least you aren't rushed. Def.worth a visit!

Wednesday night used to be a staple for me at Danny Boys.

The stand-out here is wing night but I can't front. If you get a burger and fries here you will love that too. It's on par with Donovan's which claims there the best... the only thing I don't like is the bun here sometimes.

There 10c wings are really just damn good. They have a few different flavors but I can't do anything but the hot because I can't neglect them like that. I used to grab an extra 10 BBQ but sometimes I'd rather let George not have to crunch numbers like that so he can get back to drinking (and serving of course.)

I stopped going because waking up on Thursday with a wing hangover was tough on my body. It might be possible to tone it down.. maybe cut back... don't order 30 wings...

It wasn't - that's three dollars of fucking glorious chicken and I still get the shakes for em sometimes.

Good, solid local bar.

My favorite time to hit up this local bar is Wednesday nights for 10 cent wings! Three flavors Hot, BBQ, and Teriyaki. My personal fave being BBQ, my pals being Hot. Good good good.

There are specials on other nights, I believe there is a 2 for 1 taco Tuesday's, not sure what Monday and Thursday's specials are. There is a restaurant attached to the bar and you can order off a menu with ample other choices.

You can always count on George the main bartender on weeknights to serve you up a good well mixed drink or ice cold beer.

Recently I know they have dabbled in beer pong after midnight and other weekly special events which they post on their MySpace page bringing in the younger crowd.

If you're living in the neighborhood stop in for a drink! Or try out the restaurant if you're not interested in sitting at the bar.

**Note in the warmer months there is a small out door garden/patio area in the back you can sit to have drinks.
