I am from Phlly, which you would expect is a pretty good jazz town. It IS for talent, but from a club standpoint, Denver CRUSHES us.  I was in Boulder for an 8:30 Monday  business meeting and arrived on Sunday. Sunday is not usually a great jazz night, and the divier clubs that had been recommended (Chapultepec etc.) were doing soul, open jams etc.  Dazzle had the promise of straight ahead Jazz, so I mad it my destination...about 30 minutes from Boulder.  It was easy to find, and on a Sunday at 7:00 free parking was easy to find.  A nearby liquor store had an ATM which ensured I had cash for the reasonable $12.00 cover.

On the calendar was guitarist Marcus Firillo who had an impressive resume.  among his sidemen listed was saxophonist Rico Jones whom I Googled to find a YouTube video of a 13-year old struggling through some funk at an American Legion post.  I did some simple math and figured he was 15 by now, and figured I'd take a chance,.

Upon entering the club and paying the cover, I was admonished to refrain from conversation during the music.  As I was alone (and do not present as schizophrenic) I brought these facts to the attention of the door guy.  He was apologetic, but explained, it was policy to tell everyone before they enter the jazz room. In reality, I am VERY happy when the house makes and enforces these kinds of policies.  The room was pretty full, but I was still led to a nice table for four, full tablecloths and linen, and a little Miles Davis card making a "shush" gesture remind patrons to respect the band (who buy the way, gets the entire cover.  As the menu explains, the food and libations go to the house.)

Though I had just eaten a VERY filling lunch at the legendary Sink in Boulder, I felt compelled to order dinner.  The menu was great, and very reasonable.  I wish I had been hungrier, but I ordered the $15 fish and chips and a beer.  Cocktails were ALSO very reasonable, and I would love to have partaken, but had to drive back to Boulder AND present to 15 customers at 8:30 the next A.M.

Anyway, the band was GREAT !!  Two years was an incredible maturing of Rico Jones who played like a man with a MUCH larger prostate. The whole set was stimulating and fun.  The audience (mixed ages and races .. as much as Denver might expect) was polite, attentive and appreciative.

As I was leaving after the final tune, the doorman signaled me that they were doing an extra encore.  I stayed until the very last note.

Macaroni and Four Cheese, Garlic Bread (four cheese), and Parmesan crusted chicken over tomato basil linguini were great!
Husband had the Titan IPA and said it isn't as strong as most IPAs.
The Razzle Dazzle martini was good, too.
Tuesday night was a free jam session which was really neat to see a bunch of different artists that didn't know each other play.

I left DazzleJazz uncomfortably full. That is in no way an insult to DazzleJazz.  On the contrary, it is a huge compliment. I hate getting to that OMG I feel like I'm going to explode point...but it was so worth it here. There was so much food to eat, I couldn't help myself. Granted, some of the food is definitely not your typical breakfast/brunch food (pizza spaghetti, enchiladas, shredded beef, and stuffing) but everything was really good. I almost wish the food wasn't so rich and filling so I could eat more (I was pretty much full after my first plate). Only $18.95 for brunch... such a great deal. I'll be coming here instead of Ellyngton's for brunch from now on.. that's for sure. Our server was extremely friendly and started us off with a tour of the entire buffet, which I really appreciated. They also had a live band playing jazz music while we ate, but they weren't too loud... it was the perfect accompaniment to a great brunch.

First pass through the buffet, I tried everything. I was particularly impressed with the mac and cheese and Neptune eggs. The mac and cheese was so rich and creamy, after the first bite I was in love. On the top of the mac and cheese they had bread crumbs and diced tomatoes which added some crunch and a little bit of variety to all the cheese. The Neptune eggs consisted of: scrambled eggs, crab, and hollandaise sauce and it was amazing. All of the other food at the buffet was good, although the pork was a little dry (I think it was sitting out too long before I got around to trying it).

The $9 bottomless alcohol (you can pick and choose anything and switch whenever you want) was definitely what made this worth it to me. Since I got so full from the food, there was no way I could eat enough to make the price worth it for me, but I tried to balance that out by trying as many drinks as I could. There is so much to choose from... you can get wine, mimosa, bloody mary, or their infused vodka. They have everything at the bar so you can mix and match yourself. The bartender was really great, he offered my boyfriend and I a recommendation every time we came up and they all ended up tasting really great. We tried the infused vodkas mimosas (strawberry and pineapple) and I also had a bloody mary. The vodka mimosas are dangerous, you can't even tell you are drinking alcohol. The carrot vodka with ginger ale was so refreshing, I was honestly surprised at how good it was.

I definitely left impressed with the brunch at DazzleJazz, the atmosphere, the service, and the food was all really great. I will definitely be coming back here in the future.

Probably my favorite restaurant in Denver. The Sunday brunch is amazing, and the #1 thing to experience if you go here. They're known for their mac & cheese, but also check out the parmesan crusted chicken - it's almost as good. The drinks are a bit expensive, but you get a show from your server when you order one so that works.

I can only speak for brunch. The music was a bit too loud for me and the food was pretty mediocre.

Our party of six arrived for the early set featuring Katie Glassman and her band.  We ordered cocktails followed by a light dinner.  The drinks were fine and reasonably priced at happy hour.  I tried the Moscow Mule, as recommended by other reviewers, and it was excellent.

We enjoyed our dinners as well, including the grilled cheese sandwich, chicken sandwich, mac and cheese (very good) and salad.  Service was very good so we were in a great mood when the featured performers came on stage.  Katie was superb and her band members laid down a rollicking country swing you really want to dance to.

A memorable evening for everyone at Dazzle!  We all appreciated the intimate venue, courteous service, good food and drink.  We will definitely be back soon!

My friend from Denver talked this place up and said it was awesome! I was pretty pumped about going to Dazzle all week. Well, I was let down.

This place is insane on IDs. They checked our IDs like 3 times, it's like they forgot that they already checked our IDs which was annoying and unnecessary since we were there as a group and this became a nuisance.

The drinks were insanely expensive. I mean 5.75 for an Easy Street was not a bad price because it is the perfect evening beer. Their infused vodkas I was definitely excited about but they were DISGUSTING. It seems like they didn't let the fruit ferment well in the vodka. It was so nasty I didn't even finish that drink and of course was still charged for it. I've had infused vodkas before and they were made correctly, so word of advice, DON"T GET THEIR INFUSED VODKAS unless their on a $1.00 special and you hold your nose so you don't have to taste it so much.

The price for the unlimited mac n cheese was not a bad deal at all. It was actually pretty tasty, but it was nothing extraordinary.

The place is cramped. They definitely need more space for the amount of people that show up to listen to live jazz music.

The customer service was not that great either...Our server was clearly annoyed, not sure if it was with our table or with other tables but you could see the frustration on her face, in her voice, and by her reactions to questions. She said that we ordered calamari and insisted that we did. We did not order calamari at all, she ended up taking it off of the bill. When we got our tabs she completely messed up the tab. She put a $39.00 bottle of wine on my tab when it was $27.00. When I asked the server how come I got charged for the wrong bottle she said uhhh you drank this one. I said no I did not drink this one, I asked for the $27.00 bottle and you said you were out of that and brought another bottle and said it was the same price. She grabbed the tab and walked off clearly frustrated. I'm sorry but it's not my fault that you messed up the tab. Also when she brought the updated tab back to the table she still put the wrong amount on there.....$29.00. At this point I'm upset and I'm not going to complain about a $2.00 discretion. I'm sorry but customer service makes or breaks a place.

The only thing I enjoyed here was the fact that I got to hang out with great friends and listen to the great music. The guy who made the desserts was also very cool and his dessert was amazing.

I don't normally give bad reviews because I think most people only give reviews when they are upset, but this had to be said because something has to change there. The 1 star is for the music and the guy who made the desserts.

On the advice of Kate G. I stopped in here to enjoy happy hour before heading to a Yelp event across the street.  For future reference, if Kate G. recommends a place, just go there, I have full faith and confidence in her suggestions.  The HH menu at DazzleJazz is extensive, varied, and affordable.  They have $4 HH Martinis (15 of them if I counted correctly).  Every Martini, from classic, to manly, to girly, to uber-creative is available.  They also offer $4 Sparkling Wine cocktails (think Bellini or Mimosa), $4 Smooth and Cool cocktails (think Moscow Mule, Daiquiri or Singapore Sling), and HH eats in the $3.75, $5.75, and $6.75 range.  There are also add-ons and a couple reasonably priced, but higher end (think steak) options.

For my noshes I opted for the Braised Greens and Roots with Bacon (mmmmm . . . bacon).  This was a hearty and well-prepared dish that was almost like a variation on corned beef and cabbage.  I also had the Crispy Polenta Cake with sauteed spinach, red pepper coulis and cotija cheese.  This $3.75 HH item was something I would have expected to pay much more for as an appetizer in a fancy restaurant.  It had some very nice texture and taste.

For my drinks, I went with a Moscow Mule (yes, $4 for a Moscow Mule in a real copper mug . . . If you let them hold your ID) and a Jello Martini (house-infused berry vodka, vanilla vodka, cranberry juice, and grenadine) . . . served in a jello-powder coated rim martini glass.  It really did taste like jello, and the taste was good indeed.  I asked my oh so impressive bartender (Dan) what the machine that occasionally went "Whirrr" from behind the bar was, and he indicated it was a powerful juicer.  So, for my final drink I had a Salty Dog (freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice with vodka and a salted rim).  It was head and shoulders above any equivalent drink made with canned juice.

Randomly found this place on yelp when we were in Denver. The service was.....extremely slow. Though they were busy...it is not an excuse to not be helped when you sit down for 20 minutes.

Had some drinks , listened to some music. Left.

I was in Denver for a conference and a co-worker said he had watched this restaurant mentioned on the food network.  We decided that we wanted to try this place for dinner.  I ordered the chicken noodle soup and the Louisiana baked catfish.  Both items were pretty good.

We came here during a Jazz night and the food took over 45 Mims to arrived.  Aside from the wait time, the music and the food were worth the wait.  We were told this place Sunday brunch is ranked number 1.  Maybe I will give it a try since I will be in town till Sunday night.

I cant believe I hadn't been here sooner.

I went on a Tuesday (1/29) and the live music was just SPLENDID.  I opted for a couple Manhattens that were on special and they we were tasty and definitely gave me a good buzz.

Great happy hour!! The happy hour menu has a ton of $4 martinis, great selection of beer, wine, and specialty drinks. Also there's a great variety of food you can definitely fill up on.

Staff is fun and friendly and I love the jazz atmosphere! They have live jazz shows almost every night which I still need to check out. Definitely a great local spot to check out!

One of my favorite bars in Denver. They have a fantastic beer list, great food offerings (mostly in the form of small plates and bar food with an interesting twist). I've never been for a concert, but I would LOVE to do so. The atmosphere is great and I think it would be a delightful show. On a different note, Dazzle is surprisingly vegetarian friendly. Highly recommended.

I went here with a group for the Sunday brunch. My experience with the waitstaff was great. We were given a "tour" of the food lines (although it seems like the staff could move on to other projects if the food was simply labeled instead). At some point, it came up that I was a vegetarian, and my server was attentive in making sure I knew what was an option for me and that I was happy with what I could have.

The music was great, although very loud, so during a performance the table didn't feel like talking much.

The food itself was good. Not great, not amazing, but not bad either. It was good. I was surprised at the amount of continental food; lots of croissants, crackers, cheese, fresh fruit, etc. Not as many hot dishes as I would expect for a brunch that costs about $25 with tax and tip. I definitely left full and satisfied, but a bit puzzled over the options.

Dazzle has been, hands-down, my favorite place in Denver for more than 6 years now.  The food is awesome, the bartenders are, in my opinion, the best in Denver, and if something is wrong with your visit, they'll find a way to make it up to you.

This place has the best happy hour that I've seen yet in Denver.  They bring the best live jazz talent to town and their brunch is the best brunch that I've ever had -- and I consider myself a brunch connoisseur!

Make sure to check out the scene in advance, as it could be a bunch of people getting down-and-dirty to the blues, a high school big band orchestra, or even a progressive electronic jazz or folk group on stage that night.

FYI: there are gluten-free options, even with the alcohol, and their alcohol is limited to non-imports.  The bartenders will be glad to help with finding comparable brands.

This place suprised me. I had a pre convcieved notion it would be overly pretentous or full of hipsters. Its actually neither.

Its about as laid back of a place as you can get. Extremely comfortable atmosphere.

Menu is full of reasonably priced fun items ranging from bar type appetizers with a twist to clever entrees. The food is clearly above average and the wait staff pretty cool.

They have jazz and old ragtime sounding bands play which of course is a great touch. Drinks are unique too. I definately recommend this place for a semi casual date with your lady or man.

Treated my parents for their 30th anniversary to a DazzleJazz treat on New Years Eve, late post, but better late then never. Everyone in the party including my mother and father in law, loved it, Otis Taylor put on such a great show and we we're all so impressed with quality of the food and the wait staff.

I'm looking forward to stopping in again on my next trip in Denver!

We had a lovely and relaxing evening at Dazzle last weekend.  We ate in the "listening room" which is designated quiet during the performance.  That was refreshing.  The staff is just enough attentive.  The jazz was amazing and the staff was quick to handle the chatty table that was interrupting the rest of the room.  If you really need to talk, there is a bar in the next room that you can still hear the music.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the food was just so-so, but who cares when you have such a wonderful evening?!
Bottom line:  Kudos to the booker!  Fantastic jazz, okay food.

Was in town for a conference and stopped by for an evening of food, drinks, and music.

Couldn't have asked for a better place. It was a midweek night, so the music wasn't as epic as perhaps it would have been on a weekend, but it was still enough to take me away from my cares and worries.

Drink selection is solid. I ordered a fruity girly drink and enjoyed it tremendously. Split a couple appetizers that weren't really restaurant food but weren't really bar food either. I suppose they could be accurately described as lounge food, but I admit I have no past experience with lounge food. Service wasn't exceptional, but was good.

Spent a bit more here than I planned to. Had a better time than I planned to. It's a bit challenging to get a cab back from the place. But I would certainly go back.

Dazzle is perfect for a date night if you're both into live jazz, and honestly, who isn't? My boyfriend and I paid $12 each to see a quartet band play Dave Brubeck ballads. The ambiance was lovely -- there were candles at each table, and the lighting was dim and romantic. The band was amazing. Seats are first-come first serve so get there early (about 45 mins and have a drink at the bar) if you want a good spot. They require that you spend $8 minimum, and they have a full menu with drinks, food and dessert. We had the homemade butterscotch pudding, which was delicious. Be sure to reserve tickets online. The only downside is some shows are expensive, up to $45 per person even. Overall, a great venue, great band and great night.

Dazzle's Tuesday open mic night/happy hour is one of my absolute favorite nights. $4 cocktails, ample space, and wonderful talent makes for the best mid-week diversion. The service isn't the speediest, but the staff are all super friendly and helpful.

However, I will never return on a weekend night - Dazzle becomes packed with wall-to-wall cougars, the drinks are suddenly not so affordable, and the overall experience is more chaotic that I'm into.

Great jazz, great Martinis and awesome service

We went for drinks so we didn't pay for the jazz show but we could still listen from the other room an it was amazing. Jello and dirty Martinis were fantastic, and we had the mushroom truffle oil pizza and bacon pizza to share.  It was plenty for 3 and since we got a buy 1 get 1 free pizza for checking in with Yelp, it was $9 for the food

As far as I'm concerned, food and drink taste better with live jazz.  In that arena, Dazzle never disappoints.  It's a great date spot!

I've been to Dazzle on several occasions and I've always had an enjoyable experience.  It is a cozy, intimate spot that doesn't have particularly comfortable seating; however, if the music (and a good cocktail) moves you, you soon forget about that.

The music is what brings me here; however, the food is solid.  I've sampled several dishes, from calamari to a turkey sandwich, and have not been disappointed.

The lounge has a great vibe to it.  I always feel like I'm transported to another era while sitting in the dimly lit room soaking in the music.  This is always a go-to great time.

Came here very late night with a fellow Yelper looking for some more wine and a nice atmosphere.

It took longer than normal to get the bartenders attention, especially when we were virtually the only ones there.  Once we got his attention he was very good.  They have a nice later night HH drink list.  I was so pleasantly surprised at mush I really enjoyed the live jazz music.  A great place for romance or a first date.

I can't wait to come back and try some of their menu and hopefully enjoy some more quality jazz - my new found love.

Some big improvements to the drink menus here. Caught the Vijay Iyer show last Friday and noted that most "hard liquor cocktail" drinks are now $5 which is very reasonable vs the usual 10-15 rip off you get in most such clubs. Currently features a spicy jalapeño drink which is quite unique and spicy.

I live in the hood, so I make it down to Dazzle every once in a while. If you are looking for a great beer list, not the place for you. If you want awesome martinis served by cool people with a fun atmosphere, this is your place.

When you order your drink shaken, expect a fun waiter/waitress to do a little dance mixing it up at your table.

Live jazz music also available most nights for an entry charge in a second room.

    Sunday Urban Brunch review:

A local recommended my partner and I, visiting for SLC, UT, give Dazzle a shot.   Well worth it, in my opinion.  I'd like to rank them somewhere in between a 3.5 and 4...but here's a 4 for lack of options.

We made reservations for 11:30 AM, but arrived shortly after 11 AM.  The host gladly seated us then and there, just a few yards from the performing band, featuring Ms. Julie Monley.  The music was great and added a sophisticated yet relaxed touch to the atmosphere.  I love noise and bustle when I'm out on the town (I get enough quiet at home) so Dazzle really fit the bill: lots of laughter, chatter and tinkling of utensils on flatware.

Our server was attentive and, it seemed, always at hand.  Our waters were kept full, our dirty dishes quickly removed, our check was promptly provided and (unnecessarily...) our napkins folded nicely upon our return from the buffet.

The buffet was definitely appetizing.  The food was not typical buffet food where the eggs are spongy, the meats sitting in cooled, layers of fat and the potatoes over salted and stale.  This place had a nice mix of light (cheese, crackers and smoked salmon) and heavy (potatoes, cheesy grits and macaroni and cheese), not to mention the lovely sweets.  It was fun to see Cap'n Crunch offered along with crème brûlée.  I noticed an earlier review knock them for offering Twizzlers; this was by no means a center piece and, IMO, it added a little bit more fun to a classy yet eclectic brunch.

While it certainly was not cheap, the service, food and entertainment was all great.

My only knocks were the lack of vegetarian options (I'm easy to please, but those stricter adherents would probably be frustrated, and I don't know if there would be any hope for a vegan), especially on the hot entree side (I think more than half had meat).  Granted, I did not go hungry -- at all!  And the quarters were sometimes a little cramped, especially around the hot entrees, as  I had a chair and a foot land on me at one point or another, but no damage done, and we were both quite satisfied.

Great classic martinis and great jazz.
Sat in the lounge, but I still had a good view of the band and the sound was piped in as well.  After the dinner set, another band set up in the lounge and played until close.
If you're into Absinthe, try the Crystal Silence.  They also serve Absinthe with the sugar spoon.

Dazzle brunch, which is much heralded about town but was a huge disappointment to me. First, the reservation process is peculiar. You call their phone and after a lengthy recording you are told to leave your name and a time and if they DON'T call you back, you're confirmed. Not very reassuring and wholly unprofessional. Open Table would be a huge upgrade for these folks.

Once seated, the service was friendly and attentive, but the brunch itself was a flummoxed hodge podge of oddly arranged and incongruent options.  Examples: crème brulee in Turkish demi cups next to Red Vines perched on a plate.  Hardboiled eggs, next to big boxes of cereal. Sprinkle dounts on a saucer? This was on the "continental" side. I guess Red Vines are big on the "continent". Who knew the French and Spanish love prepackaged American red licorice. And as a breakfast item no less.

On the "hot" side were some weird concoctions, most notable was the gnocchi stroganoff. And canned corn and meatloaf is not a breakfast option I ever want. The bacon and sausage were decent.

To be fair, this brunch has a very low price point, so from that regard there is some value. But this was more Best Western breakfast than fine brunch. Quantity over volume please.

Then there was the jazz, a soulless trio of passionless pointless pabulum. I get this is supposed to be mellow Sunday morning back round music. But this was less Sade and more Barney and his  Dinosaur triangle band. The woeful singer played the bongos like a distracted nursing home attendant pulling sheets across a bed and fluffing pillows to the beat of an oxygen machine. The bass player occasionally displayed a modicum of dexterity and the pianist must have learned on Fisher Price and never graduated to Steinway.

It wasn't awful nor was it good enough for a return visit. When your name is Dazzle, you set a high bar. I would name this place "Eh"

There is a lot to this seemingly small place. It's a jazz club, restaurant and bar. As I've not seen any jazz here this review is just on the bar.

With a rather nondescript exterior there awaits a lovable worn and warm interior. The bar area has a somewhat long main bar, elevated back section and some cute but, small booths. I went for happy hour and loved the Martini specials they have for $5. A good selection of bar food awaits you and your friends. The Pasta and 4 cheese nachos were quite good and far from typical bar food.Service was great from our lovely server. In fact, I'd describe all the staff as lovely, hip and friendly. Those three things rarely go together.

I'll need to check back with this spot on brunch and the main room's jazz...but as far as an after work happy hour spot this is currently one of my favs.

We love this place! I went with a group of friends about 2-3 years ago for a brunch on a Sunday and have been in love with it ever since. I can't believe I haven't written a review yet!

We've come back here for Sunday brunch and met with friends here for brunch. In addition, I've come here a few times for the Happy Hour. I've never had a bad experience. From the brunch perspective, $8 Bottomless Bloody Marys and Mimosas (or in my case, cranberry juice and champagne) are a treat! The brunch buffet contains an amazing array of hot foods, an omelet station, cold foods in the front, such as pasta salad, roasted veggies, cereal, fruits, smoked salmon, as well as a dizzying dessert section, usually with a person offering made-to-order crepes. I've always had fantastic service.

Happy Hour offers a great selection of drinks and food. You receive large amounts of food for $5, which is quite nice. I've enjoyed martinis and Moscow Mules, a swell as other cocktails. I think Dazzle is the bee's knees!

Parking in this area sucks, but be sure to check out the Dazzle website for parking after hours and on the weekends in the DPS parking lot on Grant, I think.

Pun fully intended; Dazzle never fails to dazzle my taste buds.

It's easy to love a place that has amazing food and a fun ambiance(reminds me of an old-time supper club where women wore fun hats a la Jackie O and men wore suits with fedoras) that has a happy hour menu with a wide range of both food and beverage choices for a 5 spot or less.Seriously, what can you really buy for $5 anymore that isn't fast food or some permutation thereof? I'll skip McDonald's and go for a plate of the Mac n'cheese instead, deliciously decadent with a blend of 4 cheeses, including a Gouda that really sings. Or maybe I'll throw down a chorizo slider or one of the of pizzas Dazzle offers, with gourmet toppings, or a full-sized burger with garlic parmesan truffle oil fries, washed down with a salty dog martini, the tart grapefruit adding just the right balance to the richness of the cuisine.

This is also not rocket science, but note that the meter only needs to be paid until 6; this will save you from trying to add extra quarters and wondering why the time won't exceed 48 minutes. Not saying that happened to me, but....

Whatever you do, check this place out ASAP!
