    **SMOKING ALLOWED IN PATIO AREA**
**YELP DISCOUNT NOT VALID FOR HAPPY HOUR"

We were looking for a place to eat before a concert at the Greek theater utilizing the Yelp App to discover what is nearby and any other specials going on, we stumbled upon the Dessert Rose. Easy parking and yelp check in offer for 15% your meal (WHICH WAS NOT HONORED).
When we walked in they informed us that they were serving Happy Hour. So we went with it an ordered of the happy hour menu:

    FOOD:
I ordered the Lamb Sliders which was flavorful and served in a sweet bun. I was still hungry so I ordered the Beef kabob and shared an order of olives; I've had better kabobs at a fast food chain and better olives out of a bottle.

    **SMOKING ALLOWED IN PATIO AREA**
**YELP DISCOUNT NOT VALID FOR HAPPY HOUR"

    AMBIANCE:
Most of the restaurant is outdoors and offers shade which is wonderful for the summer. Apparently this this restaurant is exempt from the Los Angeles Ordinance that prohibits smoking in outdoor dining areas.

    <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpublichealth.lacounty.gov%2Ftob%2Fpdf%2F20110310110614556.pdf&s=522a6bd6b7fccd5c6a7ea97cf2160c171f11e0ed8d5f178754fa9efc274ef0b2" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://publichealth.laco…</a>

I am no expert but I am sure LAFD can decipher that for this establishment.

    SERVICE:
Well other than the restaurant not complying with the law. They do not adhere to their own marketing either. The yelp offer does state 15% off your meal and before I ordered, I showed my check in status to our waitress who said they would honor it. Later on, and as the bill was presented we were told that the restaurant management will not honor their own advertisement during happy hour. Our waitress was extremely apologetic and told us this is what her manager told her. Well  thanks for telling us when the bill was presented but to be even MORE OFFENSIVE it was spelled out not once but four (4) times on our bill, "** Not Discountable**". Gee, if you were that clear on your yelp advertisement, you would not have to take it that far. Then as if we could not read, the restaurant had to add an additional line of 15% discount (0.00) on our receipt. Well the waitress seemed sincere so I can't hold it against her- I think this just like the smoking violation is beyond her control or expertise.

A-OK. It was just an okay experience.
We went for late Sunday lunch. Restaurant was not that busy so we were accommodated promptly.  Almost all the restaurant is outside. There are tables inside but with the doors wide open it all seems like one big veranda. It's shady but might get really hot on a sunny day. I liked the ambiance and liked the fact that they allow dogs. I'll bring my pooch once he grows up if I am back to this restaurant.
They had happy hour going on and there were several items available for cheaper prices. And There is also a discount on wells and wines during HH.
We didn't have much time so we skipped the appetizers and ordered mains. I had halibut and scallops with mashed potato instead of spinach and green beans. The fish was good, the scallops tasted weird. I can't  really describe the taste but it was really strange. I ate it anyways since I was starving. My husband had beef kabob plate ordered well done with rice. Even though he liked his meal, it was too small for him, so he left hungry. The wait was way longer then it's supposed to be. For the drinks we had juices and I've also got HH house chardonnay which was bad. The service was okay.
For desserts hubby had chocolate something with hazelnut mouse and I had apple cheesecake with a cup of tea. He didn't like his dessert at all. Mine was good but too sweet.
Overall we both agreed on 3 stars.
I might be back if in the area but there are so many good options in Los Feliz Village, so I might just pass.

I like this place. In fact, I eat here a lot. They have LOTS of vegetarian choices and its always yummy.

The staff is hit and miss. Sometimes lovely, sometimes crabby.

The thing I find most annoying is actually obtaining the "discount" on Facebook night. You have to have everyone at your table "prove it" via smart phone etc. It's just a bit off-putting when you come out for an advertised event (that you wouldn't have known about if you weren't their Facebook fan) and then have to jump through hoops to get the advertised discount for attending.

Very nice atmosphere, out door dinning and vegan menu. Wait staff was friendly, but the night ended bad with a 30 minute wait for a burnt dessert and no coffee due to broken machine. It was a Monday night so hardly anyone there and we were polite and said nothing but 30 minutes after we were done eating they final realized we had no coffee or dessert.

What a surprise to check in on Yelp and get 20% off.  So, be sure to see if there's a check-in deal.

We each started our meal with a cocktail.  I had the pisco mojito which was both refreshing and delightfully tasty.  Pisco is one of my favorite, under-used liquors in cocktails.  My friend had a special cocktail that was a bit fruitier and complicated, and a little less to my taste.  We also had some tasty wine that was poured as a very appropriately-sized pour...I hate it when I get tiny pours.

We started with an appetizer of Kebbe, which was incredibly well prepared...freshly fried to order and served with a nice yogurt, minut sauce.  Afterward, I had a garlic-lamb burger which was generally quite good...very tasty.

The service was very high quality: friendly, frequent without being obsequious, and knowledgeable.  The atmosphere on the patio is also outstanding.  Nice heat lamps, cushioned tables, and a good vibe.  There was an awesome jazz band playing inside.  I think it would have been too loud to be sitting inside, but sitting outside was great for the music.

Came here for the first time today on a Sunday afternoon. It was not that busy. The patio area is nice and shaded. The food was very good. I had beef kabob. It was a bit tough, I wish it was filet Mingnon.  The hummus was real good. I also got a Greek salad and we has cheese platter for the table. It contained 4 kinds of cheese and we had asked to replace the goat cheese with feta cheese which they obliged. It also has fig jam and honey on the side. All was real good. My wife had salmon and she loved it. Waitress (jade) was very friendly and came around often. We will be back here again.

They also had a live musician that came and played for like 5 minutes and left...very odd. I guess they probably have live music when there is more people. We were there at a time when there were very few people...3pm Sunday afternoon.

I go to happy hour at Desert Rose every week and just love it.  I usually order the greek salad, which is basic but good, or a vegan pizza.  They have a potato and truffle oil pizza with these thin slices of potatoes that is just incredible.  The complimentary bread they bring out is also insanely delicious.  I think it might be flavored with za'atar or something similar.  Good selection of beer and wine.  The outdoor patio is key--it's a really pretty place to spend a lunch hour or an evening.

I have been coming here with my wife for over two years.  We enjoy the food and the ambience, however we came here last night and although the food was delicious it was pretty slow coming from the kitchen.
The big turn off was a band that was so distastefully loud, that my wife and I were unable to speak with each other. We mentioned that to our server and her comment was "Yes, they are pretty loud."
Usually, when we come on Saturday nights, there is a wonderful jazz trio playing.  We sure missed them last night and if this stupidly loud band is there again, we'll just fined another restaurant.  My question is, what is the owner thinking, having a band that is just unbelievably LOUD ???

This place has a nice outdoor patio, which they shade well from the late afternoon sun. Good happy hour deals on drinks - $5 glasses of house wine, $3 drafts and discounted small plates from 3 - 6pm daily.

I think we had the gruyere fries and the chicken kabob. I say 'I think' because, as far as the food is concerned - it was unmemorable. The fries could have used more cheese - the kabob was good, but not outstanding. I think the food here is worth it if you're paying happy hour prices, but I'm not sure I'd want to pay full fare here.

Our service was decent, but the main thing that I enjoyed about this place was relaxing on the shaded outdoor patio with a couple of happy hour priced drinks.

Terrific drinks!  Had their take on a Manhattan (The 1700 w/ Canton instead of Vermouth) & it was a delight!  Also tried a little of the Ginger Mojito which was quite good.  Didn't really care for the Sticki Bramble, it tasted like a urinal cake.
Our appetizers came out pretty quick but the wait for the entrees was really long.  Like over 30 minutes long.  The server said something about them being short-staffed in the kitchen.  Ok, makes sense.  I got a percentage off of the meal by using my Yelp App (Thanks, Yelp!) so that made it a little easier to swallow.  A free dessert or drink would have made it much easier, but who's keeping track?
We were sat on the patio which was really great - we weren't inundated with the loud music from indoors, it was the perfect volume sitting outside. It did get quite cold that night so we asked for an extra heater for our side of the table, and they quickly set one up, but the guy who was lighting it didn't succeed and didn't check to make sure before moving on to his next task.  Not 5 minutes later, another bus boy grabbed the extra heater and wheeled it away to another table that had also requested extra heat.  It lit just fine over there, but we were left feeling pretty chilly.
    Details, details.
Food was ok (baked brie, grilled veggies, Beef Kebabs w/ the usual Mediterranean sides) but nothing to write home about.
I'd go again for the happy hour, but regularly paying full price for everything will be painful on the pocketbook.

nice place... outdoor seating is lovely.

The eggplant soup was alright, but I did have the BEST hummus I have had in a memorable while--light and cloudlike in texture and a satiating aftertaste of sesame!  The dip my veggie skewer came with was dreamy! The pleasant waiter told me that the mother of the house makes her hummus and the dreamy olive oil/garlic spread every day.... my husband put dollops of it on his semi-too-dry chicken (atop his pasta) and loved it, too....  The taboule was also nice and fresh.

I would enjoy coming back for more hummus sitting near the outdoor firepit and trying some of their other mediterranean sides.  I bet their salads would be great...  I was so happy this meal was prompted by a dear friend who gifted us a meal voucher to make it a date outing with my husby.

I went with a friend who had an Amazon deal.  For starters a place that is almost entirely empty at an excellent location at 12 noon raises red flags big time.  Second, the prices.  For a simple no-meat Greek salad $12.  $13 for chicken kabob that only had ONE skewer (inc. two small sides)!  The tabbouleh hardly had any bulgur; it was mostly parsley and tomato.   $6 for draft (craft) beer.  So in total almost $34 for two dishes and a beer (not including amazon deal), and for mediocre food at that.  Furthermore, I must say I could have easily eaten more (we split the salad and skewer plate).  So not only was it pricey but most other restaurants are considerably more generous.

The service was 'meh': two young females who didn't appear too excited to be there for the entire place (I presume one waitress and one hostess) plus busboy.    This place either needs a major turnaround or it's headed for extinction.

For my dads birthday, we decided to try Desert Rose. It was early in the evening and it wasn't busy at all, so we were seated right away.  For starters we had the Fritto Misto. The lemon aioli accented everything very well. For my entree I had the Duo Lamb Chops and Braised Beef Cake( kinda like a crab cake). The lamb was a little tough but seasoned nicely. The braised beef cake was hard and crunchy...not good at all.  For dessert, I had their Chocolate Lava Cake with Vanilla Bean Gelato. This was the best part of the meal. Albeit a tad sweet for my liking, the cake was very good. The creamy chocolate middle was the bizness. The gelato was on point. Thanks to Yelp, we saved 15% off our bill, but be forewarned, for a party of of 5 they automatically add 18% tip to your bill...

We hadn't been to Desert Rose before, but were  invited there on a recent Saturday to attend a memorial service for a friend. As far as the buffet being offered, we were delighted with the quality and presentation.  Seated around us were friends who uniformly praised the restaurant.  We shall return!

This is my go to place in my hood. Best chicken kabob with hummus. Great burgers. Delicious Lamb. Drinks are also very well made. Wait staff is friendly and the patio is the best in LA if you ask me. Go here on Thursdays when it's Facebook night and if you are friends with them on Facebook you get a great discount.

Made a reservation for 8pm on Saturday night at 7pm.  There's availability?  Great!  I've been wanting to go this place since I often see it driving home from work.  The gorgeous red lit rose always attracted my attention.  When Living Social or Groupon (I forget) were selling the 1/2 off offer, I jumped at the chance.  Ugh.. I shouldn't have
So, we head to the restaurant and was 10 minutes early.  Valet'd the car for $5, which we didn't mind, since LA parking sucks ass!  We were seated in the patio with a lovely view of Hillhurst Ave.  I wanted to sit by the open fire pit, but those are reserved for smokers. First of, service was really slow for a restaurant that wasn't half way full.  We got this dolt of a waiter who's first words were, "The bread is baking and I will have it for you as soon as it's done." Ok, fair enough.  We ordered the chicken kebab and beef kebab.  Throughout dinner, I kept asking for the damn bread since the food was pretty bland.  "No, sorry still baking".  Hmmm... I think I see other diners being delivered their bread.  But, I couldn't really tell since it was dark.  45 minutes of chewing my tough bland chicken and my bf looking like he's chewing cud from his beef kebab, I'm adamant to get my bread delivered to my table, damn it!  "No, sorry it's still baking".... Seriously?  Is it because I mentioned that I had a Groupon and it's one of those restaurants whose staff rolls their eyes when you mention "Groupon"?  Whatever!  Paid our bill and left!  The bread probably sucks anyway.. pffftt....

The food was good we had the chicken kebab with hummus fries and fritto appetizer. it was all good considering the fact that we were really hungry and yet so full after two bites. the experience over all was ok. it needs music i can say to make the atmosphere fun and enjoyable.

    2.5 stars.

Looking for service without a smile? How about zero personality? Yup, you've found it!

    PROS:
    - Fantastic patio that's bound to be pretty empty
    - Daily happy hours from 3-7
    - Decent, well-priced food that skews towards Mediterranean (pita and hummus, kebabs, lamb sliders)
    - Valet (which is unnecessary as street parking should be easy to find, but it's a nice perk)

    But...

This place is just weird. Too douchey/Hollywood-y. Sure, the service is fine, but there's a general attitude of "this job sucks and I'm only doing it cause I have to" pervasive throughout. It simply doesn't fit in the neighborhood. I wish it had a different personality because the space is so nice.

And that's all I have to say about that.

A groupon brunch, our meal could definitely use "quantity boost." We ordered the french toast which after a long wait came to the table burned at the bottom. We informed the server who took it back and while the rest of us received our meals we nibbled till everyone had their meal. The french toast was weak in flavor and especially quantity. Stuffed with what tasted like nutella it lacked the originality of a french toast and the fullness of one. The hilcrust omlet was not bad with the colorful potatoes. The bacon on the side was all fat and no meat, just plain careless and awful. Finally, it is not always expected, but good customer service to either take the dish that was delayed/not prepared well of the bill or atleast provide something while you wait (a piece of bread, coffee, something).

Came here for lunch on a Sunday and was able to get a table easily. The outside area is really nice to sit in on a nice day. The inside looked nice too, but it was too nice of a day. The service was very prompt and excellent. The menu had so many good choices it was hard to decide.

I  ended up getting the lamb burger which was excellent. It had mint in the patty and the only thing I did not like was that I felt the bun was too toasted. It made it not as soft. That is what is preventing this from being a 5 star review. Otherwise, it was a great experience and the staff really took care of us. I'll be back for sure!

Great for large parties in the patio. To my surprise, my soy bean and garbanzo bean with tofu salad was really tasty. I thought this would be one of those overrated, over-priced Los Feliz places, but the food lived up to its location and price. I'll definitely come back again for lunch. Well, I need to save a few extra bucks, but I'll be back.

I'm not really sure what to say about this place.  The food was definitely reasonable, but I feel like it just doesn't know what it wants to be.

I came with a Groupon I got as a gift and was excited when I had seen the menu.  It seemed like it might be a nice romantic date spot for the bf and I.  Well, parts of the restaurant seemed romantic.  It had dim lighting and candles.  Unfortunately they also had TVs over the bar with sports playing and several patrons watching.

The patio was filled with hookah smoking customers, and the inside had a coffee-bar like corner.  So confusing!  Is it a nice restaurant?  Or a hookah bar?  Or a sports bar?  Or a coffee joint?  I think Desert Rose has potential if it can just pick one thing and go with it.

Food was fine, but a little forgettable.  I probably wouldn't return.

This review is way overdue but here it goes...

I asked for bread from one of the male  waiters... he passes by several times and pretends we dont exist. 5 minutes later I ask him what happen to our bread he goes in and comes out empty handed with no bread AGAIN!! (His attention was on the ladies sitting around us). 5 more minutes pass and I get frustrated and angry...I ask him once again what happen to our bread?!? and guess what he decides to do?!?  HE DECIDED HE IS GOING TO PUT UP A FIGHT AND START POUNDING ON OUR TABLE AND YELL AT US!!!!!!!!!! WTF kind of a service is that?!? I ASK FOR BREAD AND GET YELLED AT!!!! 10 minutes later he comes back and apologizes with the manager or whoever he was and brings out a fudge cake for me on the house... WELL SCREW YOU AND YOUR FUDGE CAKE PAL =)

NEVER WILL I NOR MY FRIENDS GO BACK AGAIN... I CAME TO ENJOY A MEAL NOT TO GEAR UP FOR A BOXING MATCH WITH YOUR WAITERS.

Great HH.  Wonderful mussels.  Big ones too.  Great wine, I don't drink off the HH menu.  Everyone else enjoyed their food, fritto misto, shrimp cocktail, olives, fries, tabouli, fish n chips.  Everything was really good and well presented.

Service was great.  The owner was there too.

Was getting cold out and they put up the heaters for us.

    Clean bathroom.

Went there for a late lunch.  Ate off the brunch menu.

Had hummus and pita for appetizer.  Was very good, not enough pita for all of the hummus they give you but the waitress actually offered to bring more before we asked.  It's nice when the service staff is paying attention to your needs without you having to ask them for things.

Had a mango mimosa.  Not my thing.  Couldn't taste the orange juice or mango in the mimosa.  More champagne than anything.  So if you like your mimosa strong or just like a straight glass of champagne then this drink is for you.

Had a cup of coffee.  Coffee was strong, full bodied.  Really good, not bitter like an asian sumatra.  Tasted more like a strong italian blend.  If you like your coffee I highly recommend this one.

Had the Steak Benedict.  Meat was very good, very tender. Good dish.  One of the best benedicts I have eaten.

The atmosphere is very nice, as well as the decor.  Looks like it would be a good place for evening drinks and appetizers.  There is a lounge area.

Valet parking . . . . seriously the biggest negative I could find with this place.   $5.00 for a service fee for valet is excessive.  Considering our car was parked on the street and I could've put it there myself.  Actually, I should've put it there myself.  I am coming to patronize your restaurant you should comp the parking and hide the money in the menu.  Add $1 to the drinks, food, appetizers, etc.  It makes you look more classy and less money hungry.  It will help drive business up if you comp the valet or make it less, so it doesn't feel like I am being bent over to move my car 10 feet.

Seriously, then the valet almost gets into an accident with our car when he is making a u-turn to bring it to us.

Dessert Rose is a classy, trendy, romantic spot great for date night, a casual classy night out with the girls, or brunch with the gang.

Their outdoor covered patio is absolutely lovely and serene. The food & drinks are a little pricey but totally worth it!

They make a great white Sangria a must try for Sunday Brunch!

Tip: Doggy friendly patio. Doggies are fine during lunch, but evenings and Sunday Brunch get crowded.

We bumped into Desert Rose for lunch as we were staving after working our appetites up from a run around the Silverlake Reservoir. When I am hungry, under these circumstances, it never ends well yet surprisingly, we had a nice lunch at Desert Rose!

We ordered the Tabbouleh Salad, shrimp cocktail and beef shawarma sandwich which were all very tasty and of good quality. The atmosphere was nice after we got over staring at the big glass rose in the courtyard. I wouldn't return on purpose as there are too many great restaurants in LA, but if you're in the area and want a decent meal then I totally recommend it!

Started off with the baked brie. SO GOOD. I love that there's a little kick to it. Yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also came with strawberry & apple. Amazing.

I ordered the beef kebab :) So good. Ordered it medium rare, and it was so tender adn delicious. The pieces of meat were huge and plentiful. It came with hummus... which I didn't enjoy at all. It just tasted like thick grainy yogurt, not like hummus at all. Disappointed.
I ordered a side of the fries with gruyere cheese & truffle oil. TO DIE FOR. amazing amazing amazing. The side of pita was so good too. It was like a pizza pita.

But the best of all? The garlic sauce! OMG I LOVE their garlic sauce. So obsessed. I had to order more because I dipped EVERYTHIGN in the garlic sauce!!

Dessert? Creme brulee :) It was yummy, hard sugar on top and the warm creamy filling. Loved it.

Service was okay/decent. Def coming back though!

Must give Desert Rose and upgrade!

Went with a group of 11 for a b-day tonight and they were fabulous all around. Meals were all flavorful and prepared with care. I had the Butternut Squash Ravioli. Pasta cooked perfectly--firm but not chewy. The risottos (two friends each tried a different one) were delicious. The Ahi looked perfectly seared.

The drinks were super tasty! I think mine was called something like the Hot and Juicy :o Points for adding a spicy option!

And the waiter Shaun had endless patients for our crazy, routy, costumed group. He also was totally cool when I asked if I could use my 15% Yelp discount for our group.

The only kind of funny thing is that I have this weird history of getting my meal last when I'm eating with a big group--no matter when I order it, and this time was no exception. I think I ordered third or fourth and everyone had their meals for 5 minutes or so before I got mine. I was the only one with ravioli though, so this might have had something to do with it. Typically this bugs me because I eat slow so and need at least as much time as everyone else, but on this occasion I hoovered my ravioli and ended up being the first one finished. All's well that ends well.

I really would love to give this place more stars because I love the ambience and the food and drinks are always amazing but...

the service here is awful. I mean it's ALWAYS awful. I live really close so I used to try to go here all the time but again and again the waitresses are always either incredibly snobby, slow, or absent minded. Usually they are all three. :-(

The owner/manager guy is really fun and friendly but you can tell he lets these girls do whatever they want. One night after some mediocre service my boyfriend left our waitress a 15% tip. I guess because we had booked through Savored and saved 30% on our bill the girl thought she was supposed to get... I don't honestly know what this child expected actually.
...He tipped her 15% on the bill BEFORE the discount and as he walked to the bathroom before we left we could hear her ranting in the ladies room to one of the other lazy waitresses about the A-hole (she used the R- rated version of the word of course) who tipped her a lousy 15% when he got 30% off the whole bill cause the cheap S.O.B used "something called savored" (hey lady, if your restaurant does it maybe you should learn about what it is) and my boyfriend just stood there in disbelief hearing all of it!

I mean wait until you at least know your patrons are gone before you go talking trash about an overly generous tip considering she had to be asked twice for EVERTHING that night. Drinks, ashtrays, you name it- homegirl was absent minded as a snail.

We haven't been back since... it was kind of the final straw for us.
Good food, good music, and good ambience really can only take you so far when you run the risk of being attacked by your subpar waitress at the end of the night for not leaving a hundo on the table.

Although this was only my second visit, I am a fan of the food and atmosphere.

However, today being a major holiday, and business a bit slow, I don't appreciate the auto 20% gratuity on a party of 5. Secondly, I didn't appreciate the fact that they took the tip from the total bill and not the pretax amount...tacky.  Thirdly, as a Yelper, they offer the discount of 15% but conveniently forgot to take that off.

I was showing off the restaurant and the delicious food to my son and his girlfriend and said he said he did not care for the slow service, and to be honest, it was extremely slow...especially since the restaurant was not packed as it usually could be on a weekend.

I am afraid that this has been less than satisfactory in my opinion.  I would still go back though, because the food is pretty good!

My girlfriend and I went to see a Neil Diamond tribute band almost a year ago in Pollywog Park and loved it. So my girlfriend several months ago purchased us Dine & ride tickets to see Neil Diamond at the Greek Theater. The package included dinner at the Desert Rose, valet service, transportation to and from the concert and of course concert tickets for my birthday.

We arrived at the Desert Rose just about 5:00pm to an almost empty restaurant. We valeted our car and we handed our ticket for claim. We were seated outside in a very nice little garden. We were seated in an outdoor patio section which is right off of Hillhurst and there happens to a LAFD (Fire Station) right down the street so you get the occasional siren blaring up the street, but that is not the Desert Rose's fault.

Right after we were seated our waitress came right over and introduced herself. The waitress asked if we were part of the Dine & ride, we said 'yes' & she provided us with a Dine & ride menu for ordering. You have your normal menu and your Dine & ride menu. The waitress asked if we would like anything to drink. I asked for a decaffeinated iced tea which they did not, I ended up going with water with lime. My girlfriend ordered a New Castle beer which came out with a frosted glass, she was pretty stoked.

The waitress returned several minutes later to take our order. With each ticket purchased you could choose a starter, entrée & dessert. For a starter I went with the Hummus & pita which was pretty dang good. I am not usually a fan of Hummus but I ate quite a bit of it. For a starter my girlfriend ordered the Fire roasted vegetable platter which consisted of Eggplant, zucchini, squash & tomato. I knew I would be I having some of her started tray so I asked the waitress to ensure the vegetables were cooked dry no oil & no butter. I cannot stand food cooked with any form of butter or oil. The vegetable platter came out with balsamic vinegar on the vegetables, I wasn't too stoked about that but ate it anyway and it was pretty fantastic.

For our entrée we both went with the Beef Kebab which consisted of grilled Beef, served with hummus, roasted tomatoes, rice, tabboulleh or French fries. I had mine cooked well done, my girlfriend had hers cooked medium rare. I ended up going with French fries, my girlfriend ended up going with tabboulleh. Our entrées were fantastic. The meat was cooked perfectly. The hummus again was very good, the fries were not as crispy as I like but still pretty dang good. The entrée was served with pita bread that was drizzled in olive oil, had tomato, basil and other fresh herbs/spices and lightly cooked. I had one bit it was good but was way too much food to finish in one sitting.

For dessert I ended up going with the vanilla gelato my girlfriend upon my request ordered the chocolate cheesecake so I could try it. The gelato was Ok a tad too grainy for me you could crunch on the strawberry sized vanilla bean grains in the gelato. The chocolate cheesecake had too much going on. It was covered in some form of nuts, chocolate syrup, fudge inside of it; it was just way too rich.

By the time we were leaving the Desert Rose was packed with people. i do understand that we are all probably going to the same concert but this place does put off the semi classy vibe and showing up to dinner in shorts is not the right way to go. Both my girlfriend and I were dressed nice but some were not. To me it is kind of like wearing a baseball cap while you are eating just shows a HUGE lack of class not dressing the part. We come from the Beach where people go to Bfast, lunch & dinner in pajamas but that is the Beach.

At the end of the night the waitress brought our bill and told us the only thing we were being charged for was the beer we ordered. The waitress told us our pickup time for shuttle service to the Greek theater was at 7:00pm. We were told that the service would load in front of the valet stand. We went out to wait and decided we wanted to put our sunglasses back in our vehicle and grab jackets prior to heading to the Greek. We told the valet personal and they assisted us right away. Shortly before 7:00pm the shuttle service arrived and my girlfriend and I were the first ones on the bus.

Overall I was very pleased with the service, the menu, the food, the ambiance, the overall vibe of the staff and the Desert Rose. I think know that I know how the Dine & ride works at the Greek I will be back and will be coming back to the Desert Rose.
