One way or another it seems I find myself in Dixie's when visiting St. Paul. My experiences have mostly been terrific but have experienced hiccups at the door and once in a while in service. Food is typically good but I stick with standards such as Country Fried Steak, Coconut Shrimp, ribs and crab soup (never said my visits were designed to improve my health!). Of course I'd always recommend a local beer to complement the food (Summit is my favorite).
Stop in and enjoy the place with friends or business associates. I'll be back soon.
I am a St. Paul native and just returned after several years to visit friends. Â How lucky for me they took me to DIXIES ON GRAND for lunch. Â Everything was fabulous, including the crab soup, coconut shrimp and strawberry salad. Â We could not have had a better waitress or service. Â The overall experience was incredible and I cannot wait to return on a future trip to St. Paul !!
Review Source:I think this place does Southern food very, very well and in a sophisticated atmosphere that you don't usually get with Southern food. I can say that pretty much anything that I have had on the menu has been very good, but I can say that most people from my northern homeland might be a little bit lost with this menu. Never fear, all you have to do is bring along a southern gentleman to translate. Or ask the waitstaff, you know, whatever. Dixie's has some of the best crab cakes I have ever tasted so I would definitely recommend getting those as either an appetizer or entree.
