Wild Onion Bar & Restaurant

Reading the numerous negative (in some cases outright contemptuous) reviews of the Wild Onion I might be tempted to pile on. Frankly, it's not really the kind of place to which I would normally gravitate. However, I can only share my experience with this establishment and let you draw your own conclusions.

The other night a couple of buddies and I stopped here for dinner before heading over to Stogies for a cigar. We'd made the trek at least a half dozen times previously over the last several years. We were seated and served promptly by a cordial, enthusiastic server. We started with two Blue Moon's and a lemonade for me together with the Double-Diamond Wings. No complaints.

One friend had the Fuego Burger which he pronounced quite tasty. The other had the steak special (10oz NY strip, fries and a small salad for $10. A good deal. However, his steak arrived well done, not as ordered. No problem. It was quickly replaced with a steak cooked to order with a new side of (very good) fries. The manager came over to make sure everything was OK.

I even found a coveted parking spot in the side lot and had no trouble getting in or out.

Overall, it was not unlike past visits. Amiable service, decent pub food, price points on par with what one might expect on Grand Ave. A solid if not exceptional choice among the many destinations along the Avenue from which one may choose.

My husband and I spent the afternoon on Grand Avenue today, Friday, July 12th and  of the many dining choices we chose the Wild Onion.  We were very pleasantly surprised.  The food was amazing - we had the steak & chicken fajitas &  a drink.  We sat on the patio as it was gorgeous out.  Our waitress was the "best" we have had in a long time.  So professional, friendly and very on top of it!  The parking was excellent and we definitely will go there again.  Congrats Wild Onion for making our day so much fun!

Went for lunch!!!! was awesome. The chicken fajitas were to die for and my son loved the burger. Service was great!!! Ali was so cheerful. Can not wait till the patio opens to try the new menu items they are going to have. Will go back again. Grand Ave is so much fun....
