This is a private club ($10 application fee) with a full-on smoking environment. Â The owner waved the application and fee the first time I stopped in here so I could check the place out. Â
The bathrooms are clean, the bar is big, plenty of games, a loud jukebox, and big stage for the band with an in-house PA.
Ice cold $2 domestic pints all day every day. Â Very reasonable liquor prices. Â The clientele is exactly what you would expect in a place called "Roadhouse". Â With that said, most of these folks are KC natives...talk local college or pro sports and you will never run out of people to talk to. Â They have a KU bus outside that I assume shuttles folks to the games.
Bottom line, I paid the $10 to become a member (I don't smoke). Â They know me by name when I walk in the door, I get an ice cold brew in my face as soon as I sit down, they crank my music on the juke box, and thanks to Rick, Taco, and their staff, I feel right at home. Â The perfect pit stop on my way home from work! Â A very cool spot where you can get loose, talk shit, and relax.
Formerly known as Miss Kitty's Place, this biker bar on Merriam Lane is becoming a fairly popular live music destination.
We got there early in the evening, before the band was set to start, but were still met with a cover charge at the door. Â Â However we do not pay cover charges, ever. Â But with my friend's gift of gab, he quickly talked our way in for free provided that we left by the time the band started.
Inside we found a bar that was surprisingly clean, modern, and nice for the location. Â The colors are pleasing and cheerful. Â Drinks are inexpensive. Â We met the owners, Tony and "Taco", and found them to be really pleasant guys.
The centerpiece is the big stage against the back wall, with an expansive table seating area in front  of it.
Unfortunately for us the band set up VERY quickly and got started, so we had to finish off our drinks quickly and get out before we were able to finish looking around the place.
