My first experience at this bar was for a birthday party several weeks ago. Â My initial impression was that the bar had a very appealing quality in terms of layout. Â There was always a line for the bathroom as it was a unisex one seater, Â which I view as a good thing because there is no better way to build friendships and make small talk than to have the common goal of taking a tinkle. Â They played popular EDM all night and the bar manager Mike is hilarious.
Review Source:My gf and I saw this place while at the stop light last weekend and it looked cool. The menu on yelp and reviews convinced us to give it a shot. We went in on a Friday night about 9pm and the place had only two four top tables, two areas for lounging (not a spot to eat dinner), a picnic table and several high top pub style tables. Only two tables had some people there so we got a four top luckily. This place seems more like a place to get drinks and have some food to nibble on, not dinner. Â Beer selection was good as I like craft beers and got Delerium Tremens (on tap). We ordered the pork belly and pulled pork appetizers along with the garlic fries. The pork belly was overcooked and tasted mostly like kimchi, which made we think I was eating seafood rather than pork. Horrible dish.
The pulled pork was amazing however. It's a make your own style with a spicy BBQ sauce and the pork was tender and delicious!! Highly recommend it! Garlic fries were also very good.
The waiter did a decent job but for only having three tables, we had to wait quite a bit to reorder a drink.
Overall, it was ok. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends.
A comfortable yet gorgeous establishment in West Rogers Park.
This is the perfect place to mingle with new friends and meet up with old. Hell, you can even come alone because the staff is super friendly and they won't make you feel like a loser sitting at the bar...alone.
You can expect, inexpensive, small plates and delicious craft beer. If you're not into beer, they WILL have something for you that you WILL love. Trust me.
My all time favorite when I come here is to let the bartender pick my craft beer and order the garlic parm TRUFFLE fries and bacon wrapped dates.
(Mind you, I refused to eat bacon for about 12+ years until I came across Drunken Pig's bacon wrapped dates. I've also converted a few non bacon eaters into bacon lovers because of this dish.)
There are plenty of street parking. You can't miss this restaurant because there's a huge black awning with the Drunken Pig label and logo on it.
A convenient location off of 94, fun people, great energy, attractive AND friendly staff. The first thing you may think of this place is that it looks pretentious but don't let that scare you because once you are greeted by the staff, you will think otherwise. ;)
I've been here a handful of times and will continue to come back for more!
