Absolutely amazing. felt the need to give Money Shot their props. We had our private wedding celebration here last night. and I am so pleased with the outcome. The entire staff was sooooo attentive. The food was plentiful and amazing. All night, my guests raved about the fresh ingredients for the pico de gallo, Â the spinach and artichoke dip, the pizza that is to die for, the wings that I want more of today; just everything. Â Tony, the bar manager, is just amazing. Any request that I had from day one, he catered to(and his technique of blending drinks will have you running back to the bar). Eric, this kid is a BEAST(thats a great thing) in the kitchen. Steve, the owner he's so laid back and his ideas matched well for what I was going for. Â After my ipod battery died, the dj helped me out and found the song i was to dance to and cued the music up for the performance for my husband. Â Thank you, thank you, thank you.
The party is where you make it. This is our new place for wings, drinks, and hanging with friends. I love you guys. Thanks a million for making my wedding celebration a night to remember. I'll see you soon
You know it's bad when you have a terrible experience at a retaurant BEFORE you order! Â My husband and I went to The Money Shot for dinner recently and were the only people in the entire place. Â Yes, it was hot (AC wasn't on), smelled like sewer (not sure why) and the TV was blaring so loudly we could hardly hear ourselves think, but we had a http://Restaurant.com coupon and wanted to try it. Â
We got our own menus (server was hanging at the bar watching tv), decided what to order and waited for the server to come by. Â He asks us if we've been there before and since this was our first time there, he said there were $2 drink specials that night. Â Cool! Â We both ordered a cocktail. Couldn't tell there was alcohol in there at all, but is was $2, so okay. Â
Then we go to give the server the coupon and say we're ready to order and he says if you use that coupon, you can't have the drink special. Â You have to pay full price for the drinks. Â WTF! Â I said how much and he said $7...EACH! Â
Seriously!?!? Â I wasn't aware that there were establishments eager to turn away new customers. Â He could have cashed out the cocktails on one bill and started another, let it slide for one round, or any number of solutions rather than trying to charge $14 for small, crappy drinks.
When we said fine, we'll just pay for the drinks and go, he actually asked us if we were going to come back another time to use the coupon! Â It's in the trash, pal. Â With so many restaurants to try in this city, why on earth would I go back to a restaurant that has such awful customer service. Â
Skip the Money Shot. Â We had a great meal down the street at Jibek Jolu.
The one thing I hate more than paying full price is finding a great groupon and being treated like crap for using it.
I already gave this place a great review for its bruschetta pizza and I stand by this review of its food! The service tonight however, left much to be desired.
The second I told my waiter I had a groupon he went "Oh no a Groupon..." and held his fists to his chest like he'd been punched. I'm not even kidding....
He then tried to persuade me not to use it by saying what daily specials I could take advantage of if I didn't use the groupon....
Then the bill arrives and despite having seen plenty of these groupons before (they are 10 dollars for 20 dollars off) he only takes ten dollars off the bill. This guy must have taken me for an idiot. When I explained the error he said "oh..so your bill is like nothing". Seriously....?
Against better judgement we tipped the d-bag waiter (and we tipped well too, over 20% of the bill total pre-groupon).
Look...if you're going to offer great promotions to attract customers, expect people to take advantage of them and don't be rude when they do. The idea of these promotions is to have repeat customers. I've been here 6 times now and have brought my family twice. An experience like tonight makes me leery of returning.
I know the owner of this place makes people feel welcome groupon or not. Hopefully the waiters can pick up this trait as well. They'd be surprised how much people will tip, yes even groupon users, if you don't make them feel cheap.
Bottom line: I will be back for more of that pizza (I'm pretty sure heaven serves this exact pizza), but if you're going to offer great deals, stand by them and offer great service regardless. 5 stars for the food, 1 for the service. 3 overall.
