Wasn't happy with the service I recieved from the bartender.  She is not customer oriented at all. Ordered the fish and chips, not a crispy exterior to the battered fish-it was soggy and the way they piled the fish on top of each other, the heat reduced the lower fish to complete mush. Don't know if everyone was having an off night there, but bad service + bad food + high prices = no return for me.

Dublin 4 is a great Gastropub, truly living up to the category.  Many small plates complement the wide range of delicious, mostly local craft beers.  The food is excellent, with my personal highlight being the lamb burger.  Order it medium rare and the meat just melts in your mouth, while the goat cheese and red pepper add a ton of flavor.  I've also had the scallops entree, but would not highly recommend (there are much stronger choices).  For dessert, order a side of the delicious Guiness ice cream, which is churned in-house.  Way better than ordering off the menu with the Molten Chocolate cake, as I just wanted more of the ice cream.

The only really annoying part about the experience is the parking lot, which is very small and only has one entrance and exit. But that's nothing that a $5 valet cannot fix.

Dublin 4 is in a strip shopping center right by the 405 freeway.  Fairly unassuming from the outside.  But, once you enter into the establishment, it is a very welcoming, somewhat Irish pub-modern gastropub feel.  The service here is absolutely exceptional.  Our waitress was very attentive and sweet.  After reading the multiple favorable reviews of the lamb burger, I decided to try it.  And, much to my pleasure, it was a good and delicious choice.  The lamb burger patty was moist, juicy and yummy.  A good lamb taste but not overwhelming as some lamb can be.  The bun was sweet and moist and offset the lamb taste.  A feta cheese was used which was the perfect compliment to the lamb taste.  The lamb burger is a stand out.  Also, the beer selection here is great.

Dublin 4 is a go to place to which I will return again.

A few weeks ago, I had a suboptimal visit to Wineworks for Everyone, the wine shop/restaurant attached and co-owned/operated by the folks at Dublin 4 Gastropub. I say suboptimal because I, being pregnant, could neither indulge in the wine, nor, still being nauseated, even enjoy the food properly (for the record, everybody else had a great evening). But one shining star shot across my dark sky that night: my friend shared her Braised Pork Belly Slider. Crisp, juicy, just fatty enough, on a soft, sweet bun, that delectable bite was one of the best things I have ever eaten.

The memory of it brought me back next door to Dublin 4 to try out a larger helping via the Braised Pork Belly BLT Sandwich. This time, I was feeling hungry enough to appreciate the fine construction of the sandwich: again, crispy, juicy, deliciously greasy thin slabs of applewood-smoked pork belly perfectly paired with fresh rocket (arugula), tomato, and a yummy house-made sweet onion jam between slices of toasted white bread. What an amazing combination. The only thing that kept me from stuffing my face nonstop with sandwich was the cute pail of white truffle frites that came with it: thin, crisp, beautifully fried and seasoned, they don't even need any of the offered gourmet ketchup.

Good thing my lunch friend hadn't eaten breakfast, and I happen to be eating for two, because we also shared a side of macaroni and cheese that blew my mind. I love mac and cheese, even the gloopy or nasty instant kinds, but this was real food, prepared with skill and love, and absolutely delicious in every way. Pasta is perfect texture, the cheese is sharp and creamy, and all covered with a golden brown crumb crust. No doubt there's a full gram of fat in each bite, but for once, it's worth it!

So much to try, so little room in the stomach. Definitely coming back.

A new favorite for the wife and I!

I drive past this shopping center every single morning on my way to work and never knew this gem was hidden here.  My wife found it by asking around for recommendations on Facebook, thank you friends with good palettes.  Went last night and the food is amazing!!  I love gastrobubs because i try to be an adventurist eater and Dublin 4 was definitely our reward.

The restaurant is very inviting and comfortable inside.  Really want to sit in the "snug" booth next time, so nice and private.  But the real star here is the food.

The wife had the short ribs and i had the pork belly sandwich, both were amazing!  The portions were the perfect size for the richness of the food and we each enjoyed every last morsel of our meals.  The old adage "you get what you pay for" rings true here.  I personally would much rather pay a higher cost for high quality food...and that's what you get at Dublin 4!

Do yourself a favor and give Dublin 4 a try, you will not be disappointed.

i seriously had to ask 3 times for ketchup? granted, i should just be happy with the traditional fish and chips, but i enjoy ketchup.  what they brought out, Sir Kensington's organic ketchup i believe, was just awful.  my date, being English, loved his fish and chips (even though they didn't have his favorite sauce). however, the wait service was quite subpar. the bartenders seemed to be on top of their game but our waitress must have had her head in the clouds and forgot our table even existed.  we even witnessed them asking a table to leave because they stayed too long.  very small place, lots of people standing next to the bar waiting for bar space to sit down.  there was no parking available so we had to valet. this place just seems "trendy" more so than authentic.  i don't think i'll be back.

Good food but expensive.   Staff is a very friendly and great.   Thought the $14 sandwich was a bit much, and beers are around $6 each.
I heard they have hard alcohol now, but havent been in there for that yet.

Weird from HELLO. My husband and I came in and there were all empty tables. We were the only guests @ 4:45pm on a Saturday. The waitress said Oh let me check my reservations list.  I said well I can tell you already we are not on it.  She said she had a small table but we had to be finished in 1 hour because a reservation was arriving.  I'm thinking REALLY?  You will just have all these empty tables until people start to show that have reservations?  That's strange to pass up business.  Salad came and my husband found a long light brown hair inside his, not good starts.  We had the Bangers and Mash and the Fish and Chips. Meh, I've had better is an understatement.  If you want REAL Irish food go a lot out of your way (no not Ireland) but Santa Monica to THE OLE KINGS HEAD.  You don't know Fish and Chips until you have had theirs. Back to business.......we were so hungry that we decided to have an appetizer after dinner. I could have made those with Pop & Fresh Dough. The parking was not that bad and they have parking in the rear. The decor was interesting and different but not enough for me to go back.

    *Parking*
Yes, it can be a challenge. Just show up 10 minutes early and hover.... a spot has ALWAYS become available for us right up front.

    *Service*
Allison you are always amazing! You know your menu, you are genuine with your smile and conversation. I thought you handled a packed dining room with professionalism and grace. We were all well taken care of.  Thanks for making the dining experience always a pleasure and for being so enthusiastic about our food choices!

    *Bartender*
All I know is she makes a perfect Moscow Mule. And I mean PERFECT!

    *Food*
Best fricken Macaroni and Cheese ANYWHERE!!!

Homemade Tater Tots (SAY WHAT? SAY DELICIOUS!)

Dublin Lawyer Lobster Pie with a delicate biscuit baked right on top was simply MOUTH WATERING.

Bread Pudding portion was small (my friend and I wanted to split dessert and ended up having to order another one - come on Chef!! Don't be stingy!) but it is WONDERFUL and warm.

Overall it is one of my favorite restaurants in OC and I look forward to returning every few weeks to indulge!

Note to owners: There are many, many options for great Irish music - I would rather hear that then Michael Jackson!  We are all immersed in great Irish food - let us hear great traditional Irish music!

Great ambiance, however the music is too quiet. Good lounge house music makes for a very classy vibe, but its so quiet, all you can hear is the people next to you's conversation. Crank dat shit!!!

Tonight's dinner was really good and thanks to reading Yelp reviews ahead of time I knew to plan to have an early dinner at 5:30 since we did not have reservations.  When we arrived it seems we took the last non reserved table for 2 so lucky us.  After much debate we settled on 3 courses:

app:  reuben rolls- really good, great crunch
entrees:  cottage pie which I loved, super dense mashed potatoes and the meat/carrot/potato/pea/celery/onion stew that was underneath was flavorful and piping hot.  My brother had fish n' chips which he said was good but not great.  I tried his fries and they could use some salt- too bland.
dessert- bread pudding.  Oh my!  It was amazing!  Absolute must-have.  Fantastic orange flavor and croissants as the bread was perfection.

My only complaint was service was really slow.  We weren't in a rush or anything but it took way too long to place an order.  It seemed people they knew got better service than we did.  Maybe it was my imagination but it was a good 20 minutes between closing the menus to signal we were ready to order and a waitress actually coming over.  Dinner ended up being 2.5 hours.  Fine for us since we were catching up but if I had been in a rush this place wouldn't have worked.

Food was so good I'll look past the poor service and go back.   Maybe order 10 bread puddings to go.... with one spoon.....  I'm not sharing!

I love this place. It's a "go-to" place for the hubby and I. We like to go during off-hours (between 3-5pm) so we don't have to fight for parking or get turned away because the whole restaurant is empty but "reserved".

The owners put a lot of thought and effort into the decor, menu, and drink list and they are super nice. Best lamb burger of my life. Fish & chips amazeballs. Lava cake and Guinness ice cream was pretty good. It kind of sucks paying $7 for a pint of Guinness to be honest but I get it.

We are always looking for a new pub to experience. We never made it in. The parking is horrendous and by the time we go in, the wait was long. Very small bar, fits may 10 people and very crowded. Crowded doesn't mean it was great. Looks like the whole restaurant was about 500 sq ft. So unless you want pay for parking for so so place, I'd say go somewhere else.

The lamb burger here is amazing, just the right amount of gamey-ness, cooked just right. It would be tough to improve on it.
I stopped by this place for lunch after seeing a blurb about them in an OC magazine. Classy presentation (on a wood slab) and friendly service as well. Sort of a strange location, in a mini-mall with a small parking lot. Don't be discouraged by that - it's definitely worth stopping by. Not cheap (burger is $16 with fries), but worth it IMO.

Disappointed in the meal service from the bartender, as we had to sit at the bar on a Friday night due to a large crowd.  She was not friendly or warm, which made the pricey tab harder to swallow.  Even if I'm sitting on a barstool, I expect attentive service, especially when I'm dropping $100 on dinner for two.  Food was good, albeit 20% too expensive in my opinion.  Service left me annoyed and if we go back, it will only be for a drink.

I also noticed the bartender making a cocktail using a raw egg and when I asked what the drink was, she said she was experimenting with a drink for herself.  I was relieved that no unsuspecting customer was receiving raw egg in their drink but it also made me wonder why there was raw egg at all at the bar.  I'm aware of precautions required due to salmonella risk and I hope they are mindful.

I was invited by my Boss & our clients to attend a dinner here.  So glad I decided to come becuz it was such a great experience.  I will TELL YOU RIGHT NOW...parking here is a real PAIN in everyone's BUTT!

    Starters:
    01.  Ale Battered Irish Bangers $11 - 3.5 Stars
    - This plate was good, fun to share but nothing I wanted to SCREAM YELP for.  Just plain Ole Irish Fun food if you ask me.  The men loved it...of course!

    02.  D4 Reuben Rolls $12 - 4 Stars
House Cured Corn Beef, Sauerkraut, Blarney Cheese
    - If you are wondering what "Blarney Cheese" is, it's like Swiss Cheese without the holes!  The Rolls came out looking NOTHING like a roll.  Be ready to see a hybrid of the actual Reuben Sammie inside an Egg Roll shell.  I guess you would call it "Reuben Sammie Egg Roll" that has been split in half.  It was tasty and good, we almost ordered another order of this plate.  MUST TRY FOLKS!

    Entrees:
    03.  Ale Braised Irish Bangers $19 - 3.5 Stars
Potato Puree, Caramelized Onions, Whole Grain Mustard Jameson Cream Sauce
    - This was basically the same as the starter plate of Bangers we had.  The difference was it layed on top of a bed of potato puree.  The potato puree was GOOD, simply DELISH.

    04.  Free Range Brick Chicken $24 - 3 Stars
White Truffle Parmesan Polenta, Grilled Asparagus, Roasted Garlic Reduction
    - I think this is not there strongest dish.  Free Range or not, the Chicken was just a plain tasting Chicken.  The Polenta was yummy though!  Chicken could've had a bit more flavor, it was too Plain Jane for my taste.

    05.  Cottage Pie $16 - 4 Stars
Aged Dry Ground Beef, Roasted Garlic Ages Cheddar Mashed
    - Thumbs up for "COMFORT FOOD".  This dish came out looking pretty simple but you cannot under estimate the simplicity of this dish.  Once you break thru the yummy Cheddar Mash, you are surprised with a warm-hot bed of seasoned ground beef.  Totally something I would wish I have in the winter time.  Just simple, good COMFORT food.  Now if you are counting your caloric intake, I highly suggest you order the Free Range Chicken instead.  This dish will put you over your threshold for the week.  SO WORTH it...(Btw...this was my co-worker's dish)!!!  :P

    06.  Stout Braised Short Rib $25 - 3.5 Stars
Kerrygold Butter Whipped Mash, Thyme Roasted Root Veggies, Braising Jus
    - To start off this dish, the roasted root veggies were tasty and perfectly seasoned.  The Whipped Mash was creamy and lightly buttered, which made it yummy.  Too much butter would've made it too heavy.  The short rib was not my FAVE part of my dish.  The meat was tender but still had a slight chewiness to it. The Braising Jus was plain in flavors and just boring.  I finished the mash and veggies but just couldn't finish my $25 short rib.  I've def had better short ribs in my culinary lifetime!  :D  I think in this case, the FREE Range Chicken was looking pretty GOOD.

    DESSERTS:
    07.  House Churned Guinness Ice Cream, Cacao Berry Chocolate Lava Cake - 3.5 Stars
    - The lave cake was rich but a little dry.  The Guinness Ice Cream tasted like Vanilla to me.  Overall, it could be a great dessert if the cake was moist.

    08.  Fresh Rhubarb Crumb Tart $9 - 3.5 Stars
Served with Tahitian Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
    - The Rhubarb was sweet and sour just what I had hoped for.  As for the ice cream being Tahitian or not...I couldn't tell.  It just tasted like Vanilla to me.  Still was a good combo.  I liked it, just didn't end up loving it.

PARKING - Sharing the plaza with a Starbucks, Subway and WineWorks for Everyone, you'll pretty much be spending at least 15 minutes at peak times to find parking.  There are some parking in the back and in a tiny ground parking.  Don't get excited...parking spots are PRIME real estate.  Come with a patient mind or you will be all annoyed.

LOCATION - Just as you turn left onto Oso, it'll be on the right hand side after the gas station.  Miss it and you'll have to U-Turn around at the next light.  Another note, if you want wine after, just walk thru their curtains and you'll be in the bar area of WineWorks for Everyone!  Since parking sucks, I guess they really want you to make the most of it.  More Bang for your Parking...TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF IT BEFORE YOU LEAVE!

STAFF - Friendly as the owners Darren & Jean Coyle.  Sweet people and friendly team.  Good service, can be slow at times when they are busy.

VERDICT - Great Gem for MV...better yet OC!

Dublin 4 has received a LOT of glowing press since it first opened which is great for Mission Viejo as it doesn't have a whole lot of really outstanding options.

The last time I ate here, I had the chicken which was okay but nothing to write home (or a yelp review) about. Fast forward a few months and looking for a fun place for a Saturday night, I chose to return here with another couple. We started out by sharing their mussels and fries which were outstanding. Though not a traditional moules frites; the sauce is richer and more complex, but great for dipping bread into afterward.

Hubby and I shared the mushroom soup before dinner. The soup would have been great if it hadn't been so over salted (and I like my salt!). The flavor profile was there though and almost like a bisque.

For my entree I had the lobster pie. Rich and buttery but would have seemed more complete if it had come with a side salad and vinaigrette to even out the richness of the pie. Hubby had the fish and chips and swore up and down that they were some of the best he's ever had. I'll need to go back just to try them.

Service at Dublin 4 is great. Their prices are fair for the quality. It really does fill up fast. We arrived a few minutes before 6 and there was only one table left. For those bitching about the valet... what are they supposed to do? There's two very popular spots side by side and parking is limited. Supply and demand, people.

Bottom line? Great date night restaurant with good food and service.

Delicious food, unique and trendy atmosphere, wonderful service, peculiar location...

Seeing that this place was featured in OC Weekly as one of the top new restaurants in Orange County, I decided to take my girlfriend here for lunch a couple days ago. The only likely way one is to be disappointed with this place is if he's 'only got 20 dollaz in his pocket' and is expecting an Irish pub dive. We walked in and the decor immediately hit me as unique and impressive. I chose a table with plush white leather chairs that were just as comfortable as they appeared to be.

We decided on the reuben rolls for our app which was a clever and delicious hybrid of a reuben sandwich and fried egg roll. The plating was attractive and fulfilled the expectations set by the atmosphere. I ordered the lamb burger (med rare) while my girlfriend ordered the fish and chips. Cooking technique was spot on as textures were wonderful. The burger was tender and juicy with that subtle gamey flavor that pairs so nicely with arugula and a strong beer. Truffle fries did not overpower, instead showing a pleasant and controlled savory truffle aftertaste.

The fish and chips are another home run. A crisp peppered exterior with delicate and flaky interior served with very tasty dipping sauces. I also thought the house made ketchup had the right amount of tartness- delicious! The only thing I was curious about was this green vegetable dipping sauce. Since I didn't order it I don't know if it was described on the menu or not, but we were both wondering if it was an Irish thing or what. It tasted fine but didn't really offer anything bold or contrasting to the fish and chips like sauces should.

Job well done! I will definitely be spreading the word on this fine hidden eatery.

Atrociously awful service. We had to ask for everything from utensils to lemon for the fish, ketchup for the fries. The waitress actually argued with us over the cost of table wine at $16/glass. It was loud and uncomfortable. Our first visit w great, this last visit was embarrassing.  It's such a shame. We need god restaurants. The rule applies. Don't dine in mini malls, you'll get what you expect.

Wow... in Mission Viejo, who'd of thought.  This place surpassed our expectations.  The city is known for it's lack of "good" food and places to go for a drink that aren't a dive.  So when we found Dublin 4 on Yelp we hoped.  We were amazed by the service and the food.  It is an upscale pub that we will be frequenting often now that we have found it.  Dublin 4 is small so call ahead.  I can imagine when more people discover this place it will be tough to get in.

Comfort, traditional Irish fair with an upscale and modern twist.  If you are foodie you'll love this place.  A good beer and excellent food.  The dishes are beautifully presented and infused with incredible flavor.

We had excellent service and will be back to visit the Wine Bar attached.  We'll also be back to Dublin 4.

Disneyland Haunted Mansion décor mixed with a pretentious wine bar feel. Not my kind of place. Stayed for one drink and couldn't handle the stuffiness. Go to haven gastropub in Orange and see how a gastro pub should look, feel and operate.

The service was great, the drinks were delicious... And the food was fantastic!

They make great Moscow Mules -- wouldn't have expected that from an Irish place.

A must try: Bread Pudding for dessert.

    Looking forward to future trips!

I stumbled into this place by random, having just booked a room a block down the street for a training conference.  The sleepy rich area of Mission Viejo doesn't have too much in way of night life, at least in this particular corner of town.  So I walked in hoping for a passable pub - and came away happily impressed.

The decor is classic class.  Wood grain tables with celtic knots, paintings of Ireland's greats (Behan, Yeats, Etc), and quotes on glass.  It is all very impressive, and bring the atmosphere up in the place.  It is relatively upscale, with a decent selection of wines and beers.  It also has a good sized whiskey selection for those particularly afflicted by the Irish curse.

I was pleased with the service.  I was pleased with the drinks and pricing.  And I can't say I was expecting this good of an experience within a strip mall one block away from my hotel room.

I will definitely stop in when I'm in town again.  And I'll order another Jameson or Redbreast.

I was so impressed with this place! I absolutely loved it here. Even the seating is comfortable. All of the food that I've had here has been amazing and the atmosphere is very fun and not too loud. The waitresses are so pretty and friendly too! Can't go wrong there ;) One of the times I went with my boyfriend and our friend around 7pm on Friday and we had the owner come say hi to us and ask us if we enjoyed ourselves. He was great. Can't wait to go back. These other people are crazy in their reviews of this place!! Check it out for yourselves.

On an Academy Awards Sunday, we popped into Dublin 4 expecting an Irish Pub of sorts. Crossing the threshold, I nearly planted my two-tone Vans tennis shoes and turned around. First impression, this isn't your dad's Irish Pub. The decor didn't look Irish to me at all. It seemed pretty fancy (by my pedestrian standards). I think there was even white linen tablecloths. For Christ sake, don't spill the Heinz ketchup!

When the hostess/server tried to lead us to a fancy table, I balked. I sprinted straight to my comfort zone, a stool at the small counter bar. We ordered cocktails, a few stout beers on tap and some small plates. Our service was efficient, by a busty bartender with a white V-neck T-shirt who looked like a better version of Minnie Driver.

On a slow night, Minnie wasn't doing anything other than cleaning dirty wine glasses, which came from a trio of Real Housewives of O.C. whose over-modulation was a clue as to how they handled their liquor. At tables nearby, there were a few groups of stuffed shirts who dined on fancy fish n' chips with a "gastro" pea puree for dipping.

For me, Dublin 4 is a one and done. My size 11 Vans won't be back. It is a bit on the fancy side (more of a restaurant than a bar), with little vibe or fun factor. Like other Yelpers had mentioned, it is on the pricey side. The food was good, but not great. I'll leave this place to the Real Housewives of O.C. and people with a Caesar salad of C-notes in their wallets.

Ok, the burger was great and the beer was cold, but like a lot of other reviewers said, the prices are steep and a lot of the server we had this last week had so much attitude that he just had to share it with our table.

$93 dollar lunch tab for 3 people... too rich for my blood. Despite my burger being good, I will not be going back simply because of the cost.

They have amazing Irish coffee and probably the best hamburger (yes, hamburger) that I've ever had. In general, the food is good. The down side is, parking is hard (location is odd), and the place is small, loud, and always packed in the evening on weekends.

I have a friend who visited for lunch one day, on my recommendation, and had a completely different experience. They said the food was undercooked and not so great. Maybe the chef is different?

My boyfriend and I eat. And eat and eat and eat. I'm a pastry chef for a beautiful little French pastry shop down in HB, and my boyfriend is a garbage disposal, so we've been a part of the OC food scene for a while now.
Let me tell you... Dublin 4 is BY FAR the most consistent, most fresh and most decadent food I have had in a WHILE.

We have been there three times, ordered a number of items and have not been let down once. That, my friends, is a rarity. From the quaint, intimate setting, to the chandeliers and cozy cushioned bench seating, to the small staff and incredibly hospitable owners, (You heard me, the OWNERS make a nightly humble effort to greet every customer at their table, to ensure complete and utter satisfaction, and they even sat us, and refilled our drinks and cleared our plates. Done.) Dublin 4 has surpassed any and all of my favorites and has nestled itself at the top of my restaurant experience dining tree.

What we've ordered, in goodness' order:

Reuben Rolls- (as of last night, these are my new fave item)- Perfection. Crispy wrapper, cheesy gooey mixture with kraut and corned beef, rich dipping sauce. The bf said he would eat a bucket of those if they offered one.

Lamb burger- (gotten this twice!) This should be every first timers meal. Heaven. Pure, blissful heaven. The flavor profile is transcendent. Every element of this masterpiece just fits together so wonderfully. It's not your average "lamb burger" seasonings, no essence of Greece. No tzatziki sauce or cucumbers. Just lamby beauty. I'm about 98% sure a tear streamed down my face. I wolfed that thing down like a champ and my bf sat and watched with his jaw to the floor.

Short Ribs- Beautiful. The potato puree is so velvety. The veggies are tender and sweetly seasoned. And the short rib. OOOOH THE SHORT RIB. I swear each bite kisses your lips.

Duck Fat Potato Cakes- One word. Decadent! The flavors are so robust. The Jamison reduction, the thyme, the mushrooms. It's so rich, in flavor and texture, but in the most sinfully good way.

Bangers & Mash plate- Bursting with flavor. Every bite. Just incredible.

Lamb pie- Very homey. Delicious, comforting, inviting. Not my favorite of their dishes, but better than 80% of the other things i've had anywhere else!

Seasonal Flatbread- Gooood. I believe ours had hatch chilies and prosciutto, or something of the sort.

The salmon app- (cant remember what it was called)- beautiful texture, great flavor, a little on the small side. Bread seemed really stale. It was dry, hard to swallow and took away the purity in the flavor of the salmon and its accouterments. (Hey, there was bound to be one)

Next on the list- Pork Belly BLT & the Lobster pie. (After a paycheck or two)

    Bring it on.

    3.5 stars.

I'm willing to go back with a date or a close friend, but kinda pricey for what you get.  Yeah, I know it's a "gastropub", but I'm convinced that's a recent term that somehow justifies places to charge a little extra for everything on the menu.  I mean, $7 for a Guinness pint?  Ouch. $16 for a fancy BLT..double ouch...

Place is pretty fancy and in an odd location.  I guess I was expecting more of a upscale 'pub', but was surprised to see it was more of a fancy luncheon or dinner establishment with pub elements thrown in...I guess it shouldn't be a surprise as it is an add on to next doors Wineworks by the same owners.  Don't expect to watch the game here or throw darts if that's what you're looking for.  Service was good with a friendly server.

They also have 11 taps and serve a nice variety of brews (and many more in bottles): Racer 5, Green Flash IPA, Mad River Red...just to name a few.

Parking can be a challenge.  This place is nestled in an odd location right off the 5 Fwy, with one real entrance exit next to a Starbucks, so finding a spot can be a task in itself, especially if you have a SUV.

Food was....interesting...kind of an upscale spin on pub classics and worth a try, especially if you are a foodie.  Food was delicious and fresh (although both my friend and I thought the appetizer bangers tasted a tad 'off'), and presentation was high (served on aged wooden planks), but even so....the higher than average prices for their interpretation of pub food seemed a bit tough to swallow...and thus my subtraction of a star.  Yeah, I know it's fried "pork belly", micro-greens and "aged cheese" on toasted artisan bread....but $16??  Sandwiches came with Truffle fries...nice serving of crispy fresh fries topped with Parmesan cheese, and a pinch of truffle on top (yum), but I found the gourmet ketchup bland and boring.

We had a party of four with an early reservation of 5:15 ( thats all they had left until 8:30)
The place was quite that early but filled up around 6:30.
The food and service was excellent.
I had the lamb burger which is amazing and will come back again for It. It was cooked perfectly, medium rare.
The other meals that where ordered where a shrimp dish and fish and chips, booth really good. There French fries where cooked perfectly as well.
Great beer and wine selection and full bar.
Love this place, you got to try it.

Pub is in a strange little strip mall area just off the freeway.

Food is good but inconsistent..  Burgers and Shepherd's Pie are your best bet.  Full bar and some good beers on tap

Service is not always the best, again inconsistent.

If you are in the area I would certainly recommend check them out.  Quiet-ish and not your basic fun pub style atmosphere.

3.5 stars - our first time at Dublin 4 was yesterday (Sunday the 4th) and it was pretty good overall.  I'm a fan of Irish cuisine and there aren't many places that serve it in the OC... although this was more new-agey.  I think they consider themselves to be a gastropub, which I don't really know what that means, but I think Haven in Old Town Orange has them beat.  A little pricey for the portions and quality and service was a little slow, given the volume of customers in there.  It was a little cramped for my taste as well.  There weren't too many people in there at 6:30 or so on a Sunday night, so you'd figure they would have seated everyone a little further apart, but oh well.  Details on the food are as follows:

Drinks: Tried one of their "specialty" cocktails called the James Joyce.  I think it had whiskey and some other stuff that I can't remember.  I couldn't taste the booze, and I should have been able to for $12.  I'd avoid the "specialty" cocktails here if I were you.  Beers are $7 each, which is a little pricey for Guiness and the like, but not outrageous.  My entree came with a beer, as a Sunday night special.

Starters: some type of salad with walnuts, spinach, and feta, that was about $10.  Small salad, although pretty good and flavorful.  We also got the corned beef, sauerkraut, and gouda "egg rolls," which I thought were excellent.  Small serving for $10, but taste-wise I can't complain. Crispy egg rolls with diced corned beef and nicely melted cheese... very unique I must say.

Entrees: I ordered the house special burger, which was excellent.  Came with bacon and grilled onions and grilled a perfect medium.  It came with a beer and I got a wheat beer (can't remember the name).  It was a little on the small side though and for $16 at regular price, would have been too high if I didn't get the free beer.  Fries that came with it were OK shoestring fries, but didn't arrive hot (sad face).  Wife got the lobster pot pie, which I thought was good, but she just thought it was OK.  Not much lobster and too many veggies.  The bisque/broth I thought was pretty good.

Dessert: I'd avoid the desserts here if I were you.  We ordered the Guiness ice cream and lava cake, which was pathetically small for $10.  It tasted like run of the mill chocolate ice cream with a Trader Joes lava cake (you know the ones in the frozen section that you can buy a 4-pack for about $5?).

Summary: It took over 30 minutes from ordering to get our food, which was a little long.  Total came to just over $100 for the two of us with tip, which isn't totally outrageous, but not worth $100.  I expected a little more for $100, but I was glad to give Dublin 4 a try.  I prefer Muldoons in Fashion Island, which has a little more traditional Irish food anyhow.  Dublin 4 is not bad, by any means, but I expected a little more.

I LOVE this restaurant. It's just what sleepy Mission Viejo needs! The wine selection is great and everyone that works there is so extremely helpful and nice. I love how the owner is always there to say hi, help out, explain dishes and wines.
It's a great place for a date or to grab some wine with a girlfriend. Love Wineworks, love the owners, love it! Great job guys :)

The menu was tired and the food was so-so. They only offer bottled iced-tea, which is too bad because bottled tea is totally inferior to brewed and I enjoy it with meals (especially with lunch, when wine isn't appropriate).  And it was extremely expensive for lunch ($9 for a bowl of soup and $16-30 for entrees).

The service was outstanding and the ambiance is lovely.  But that isn't enough to earn it more than two stars from me, nor a repeat visit.

The online menu for the sister restaurant next door (WineWorks) looked fantastic.  It's too bad they no longer serve lunch there and we were shuffled over to Dublin4.

Please explain to me why places like this feel the need to "fancy up" something that would probably be absolutely delicious, just to be hip?  Ugh.  I honestly wish I could have given more stars, because they were SO nice.

LAMB burger and Guinness on tap. need i say more?

seriously, though. the lamb burger is TDF. the goat cheese goes well with the lamb. it also has arugula, roasted red pepper slaw, picked onions and garlic alioi ...the bun is oh so soft (like a brioche). it also comes with seasoned fries and homemade ketchup ...i'm not a ketchup fan, but this stuff i ate!

i also had the DAILY FLAT bread (prosciutto, aged cheddar and thinly sliced potatoes) ...oh it was so tasty...crust was crispy, it was salty and the creaminess from the aged cheddar made it melt in your mouth.

This place is amazing.  Don't let the strip mall location fool you.  It could easily stand beside any establishment in West Hollywood or San Fran. Delicious, creative menu with beers to match.

The decor is very modern, cute hostess, servers, bartenders.  It has a very hipster/romantic retro feel.  The menu will have your mouth watering once you sit down.  We both got burgers and they were so good.  Our server was very helpful in choosing beers to accompany our dishes. We walked out extremely happy with the food, service, and ambience.  Hope we get the oppertunity to go back!

This place gets 5 stars for friendly service, a good mix of unpretentious neighborhood clientele, outstanding food and drinks.

Dublin 4 has fantastic bar fare and adds a contemporary twist on Irish dishes using only the freshest and finest ingredients. The interior design is sophisticated yet casual and charming like somebody's home.

I really like this neighborhood gastropub nicely tucked away off of Oso Parkway - this intimate spot is great for chilling out with some friends, canoodling with a date or even hanging out solo and chatting it up with the super friendly locals. I had complete strangers offer me food off their plates...talk about love.

The owner and his staff are nice, genuine & earnest.

I will probably be giving Dublin4 Gastropub Five Stars as soon as I am able to frequent this Irish Chic Pub more often. Two visits does not 5 stars make in my opinion. Although, I did meet friends there on a Thursday and was already back with another group of friends the following Monday (My recommendation). They LOVED it!

At first I was confused about the location, I never would have thought such a hidden gem existed directly off Oso Parkway... Next to a Starbucks no less! As soon as I stepped inside I was immediately drawn in by what is possibly my favorite style ever. A friend of mine called it Z Gallery-ish but I would have to disagree. The vibe is French-Chic-Sexy! The seating is ultra trendy in the best sense of the word. Velvet tufted sofas and vintage chairs surround beautifully decorated tables. Perhaps some cheesy art here and there but all is forgiven when you take a second look around. Be sure to check out the private booth... Romantic enough for a proposal if you ask me!!

Ok, and now for the food and drinks... SOOOO GOOOD! I personally LOVED the Truffle Mac n Cheese. My friend ordered the Lamb Burger which was also amazing. The Salmon was delicious and oh the Fries.... My mouth is watering just thinking about them! There was white wine, red wine and an assortment of beers on our table, all delicious, not to mention my double Jameson which honestly looked and felt more like a triple!

Also, be sure to chat with Andy, the bartender FROM Dublin. Nothing says Irish Pub like a Bartender with a strong Irish accent. My friends and I closed the place out both times I was there because we were having so much fun and feeling so relaxed no one wanted to leave! I will definitely be back next time I am in town and most likely be changing my 4 stars to 5 stars if all goes well!

This place is awesome!  What a quick trip experience to Dublin.  The beers are excellent and the service is first rate.  The corn beef ruben is top notch too.

Ask for Ally from Croatia or Andy from Dublin.  Great people, great beers and great food.

I hate to promote this place, as I don't want to lose my seat at the bar!!!
