Echoqua Italian Bistro

I have always felt this restaurant was always consistent food and service...did lunches, dinners and small parties.  It was also convenient for meeting others from out of the area.  I am very sorry to have just received the news that it has closed.  I hope owner Dennis reopens another establishment that will be comparable.  His mild manner and easy going personality made it a very relaxed environment.

Very weak all around-stopped in for a quick meal with my friend.  pastas were not good.  Way too much sauce, almost like a soup and tasted like out of a jar.  This area has tons of Italian restaurants, this place was inexcusable.  My parapadella was stuck together and the sauce which included shrimp and peas in a pink sauce was identical to my friends bolognese sauce.  Calamari tasted like it was leftovers and refried. Bread while fresh was plain white with a crust.  No flavor too it.  Will not go back

This has to be one of the worst dining experience I ever had.
The food was absolutely terrible.  It had no taste at all.  For an appetizer we ordered the grilled artichoke (which was the only mildly edible dish) and the mozzerela and tomato tower.  I have no idea why this 'tower' came with cranberries and walnuts, but it was just weird.
For the entree we ordered the chicken with sweet sausage and potatoes, which was so over salted and over cooked.  Instead of potatoes it came with a bunch of chips floating on top.  Also, ordered the scallops with whole wheat pasta, the pasta was in some type of strange brown sauce and had no flavor at all.
To make matters worse our table was covered with fruit flies (we have no idea where they were coming from!).  The entire meal was spent swatting them away.  I even showed the busboy how they were surrounding the table, at the end of the meal, and he just sort of shrugged his shoulders. They were all over the bread and wine we brought in.  Disgusting!
Service was decent in terms of taking our order and bringing out the food, though the waiters kind of wanted everyone to just get out so they could go home.
