I met a friend here for lunch yesterday and while I've been to the downtown location this was my first time in Edina. Â As I first walked in the decor and layout leaves a lot to be desired! Â However I was pleasently surprised that even at the lunch rush hour we were still able to find seating reasonable.
The worst part of the set up is having to go to the back to order. Â I do like Eddington's variety of soup options. Â I opted for the Chicken Tortilla Chowder which was good and satisfied my want of a warm filling soup. Â And of course you can not pass up the free breadsticks.
The food is generally delicious! I come here all the time since I work close by and I love soup and sandwiches. The salads are great too! Every once in a while I try something new that I don't love (not a fan of the chicken noodle). Â However, the reference to the soup Nazi is perfect for this place. The service is generally bad, the layout is horrible and confusing and no one tells you if you're supposed to go down the line to the end or wait where you are while they make your food. The guy at the cash register seems crabby and in a huge rush and it always makes me nervous while I'm trying to pay. It's like I'm not getting my cash out fast enough for him- I think that's the owner too, so not good in my opinion. But they are busy enough on weekday lunches that people keep coming back and I guess I will too. Did I mention the food is delicious?
