Since I'm such a sucker for Damico's restaurants (particularly the Damico's on 50th and France) I had to try this place. Â I especially wanted to try it during the happy hour as they had such great prices on food and drink.
I really liked it! Â It was in an odd location, but once you got past that, it was a really cozy lounge with a good atmosphere. Â I did think that they would do better having shades or something on the large windows because it would have made it feel less like we were in the middle of a suburban office building. Â
Food was good, and I'd definitely come back for more though I don't think that they will take the place of my usual D's in Edina. Â I'd like to try the wine boot camps or music nights they have - sounds fun! Â
The waitress was super friendly. Â The crowd was definitely a bit older and more post-work than you'd get downtown, but I would say this is one of the better places to stop by after work if you work in the suburbs..
I came here for a work event. Â My coworker booked the private room about 6 months in advance, or more, since there were about 20 of us. Â The room was lovely and the food sounded good. Â We had a narrow menu to choose from since we were a large group - maybe 6 or 7 entrees and 2 or 3 desserts - and they had printed out the menus and put them at each table setting. Â The waiter welcomed us and read the menu aloud, describing each dish in detail. Â A bunch of us ordered a specific dish because it came with carmelized gnocci, which sounded awesome. Â Sadly, when the dish came, there was no gnocci with it. Â When we asked about it, the waiter said it wasn't on the menu. Â Funny, since we had 18 copies of the menu. Â They eventually brought out the manager, who wasn't very apologetic and said that it was a mistake and shouldn't have been on the menu because they don't offer gnocci at lunch, and they couldn't do it. Â I have no idea if they adjusted the bill or not (they certainly didn't offer when I witnessed it being discussed), but I was solidly unimpressed. Â Hello, people, at least be apologetic about it if you make a mistake! Â The food was good, but I probably won't come back here. Â Not worth the poor customer service.
Also - if you're looking for a good cannnoli, don't bother with theirs. Â They don't taste bad, but they missed the mark. Â Most Minnesotans probably wouldn't know the difference.
I must say I had higher expectations for this place. Â The food was good but nothing out of the ordinary.
I was informed that they have various events and wine tastings in the restaurant, which I thought was a great idea, but unfortunately have not been able to attend any yet. Â Maybe one of the events will get me to come back.
