All these recent changes - its like i dont even know u any more !
This place used to be my "Cheers" . My go to, neighborhood, feel good, bar for the past 7 years. But now, youve changed, I walk in here and everything feels different. No more pool table - w t f ?! No more managers and bartenders that i know and that know me ?! I feel like i cant even come here anymore - too depressing... SO sad...
Another place I go to w/ my school buddies & wherever we go, it never disappoints.... Probably bcuz of all of the colorful personalities  =D

Italian Beef Crawl Stop #3: Emerald Isle Bar and Grill (1:35PM)
After each beef stop, the goal was to wash off our palates so we'd approach each subsequent beef with tabula rasa. At Emerald Isle we found darts, cheap beer, pitchers, TVs with college football on and scared locals who were unaware of what this Italian Beef Crawl was all about. We grabbed pitchers and glasses and crowded the bar full of our pack of 50 beef eaters. Darts were thrown, voting sheets were tallied, and the Emerald Isle and its patrons put up with our beef-eating hijinks. Despite losing my dart game, the day was great and getting even better as the drinks were kicking in with more new and amazing Italian beefs waiting for us to be eaten.
Never, ever again. Part of this one star review is my fault. I was panic stricken after finding out my game was on Big Ten network. I needed a close place and I needed it fast. Emerald Isle is two block from my house. I called to make sure they had Big Ten network. The person who answered the phone was dismissive but did confirm that they had that station... click. Mistake number one. I went.
Upon walking in the bar I was met with .... no one. Eventually the cook came out and asked me what I wanted. After I said I called about the game, he went to get the bartender outside.
Enter Surly. This woman was not to be humored. I felt unwelcome. I felt like I was bothering her. Mistake number two, I stayed. "How's your Bloody Mary?" I ask, because I've never met a bartender who did not have an opinion. Shrug from her. In fact, everything I asked her was a one word answer or a shrug. The only time she went out of her way to talk to me was when she put down my check.
I feel I need to say a good thing or two. So, the buffalo wings and the Bloody Mary were good.
I will never go here again.
I'm so hesitant to review this place on yelp because I don't want to ruin it for the current clients. Â On any given day this place patronized by chicagoans of all kinds who revolve around a common axis: better than average bar food, an awesome vibe established by a ridiculously welcoming bartender (Jeanie [sp?] you're a saint), patrons who welcome you even if your a douche bag but would likely rather you're not there, and bar food that I would put against any in the city (hey moody's burger, you suck, fear the Scotty Burger @ E.I.). Â For happy hour, first dates, hang out with the boys night, or any other reason (aside from hating life) E.I reigns over the north side. Â There is more than enough good beer on tap, a pool table, darts, a killer jukebox, great bar food, sweet daily specials, and the occasional Elvis.
I drive past this place to and from work every day. The sign outside is always celebrating some one or something different. Â So if you need a reason to go, you only have to look up, Â Don't miss Emerald Isle.
I Heart the Isle! This place is great, the owners Scott and Chris are so friendly! I have been going to this place for years......They always put all of our birthdays up on the sign and we love having our birthday parties with them. The food is great and even if the kitchen is closed they have a shit load of menu's that deliver! This is the best neighborhood bar and the drinks are always good! Â If you wanna chill, drink, play some pool, games and music the Isle is your place!
Review Source:You know that frigging white stuff that has been falling from the sky lately?!?! Â You know the stuff the buries your car & makes it almost impossible to drive anywhere because you know the spot you just dug out will be gone by the time you come back & you have no desire to search for another upon your return?!?!?!? Â Well, the only good result from that stuff this past weekend, was the fact that it forced my husband & I to do the local thing--we walked somewhere to eat & we happened upon the Emerald Isle. Â
I have to love a place that weekly wishes someone in the neighborhood a Happy Birthday. Â Every week, sometimes twice in one week, they change the sign outside of the bar to wish someone well & that just warms the heart a little. Â I can see why so many locals love this place. Â I am ashamed to admit that I have lived in the neighborhood for over a year & this past weekend was the 1st time I ventured in. Â I know--shame on me!! Â
This is one heck of a no frills, laid back, truly inexpensive, good pub food, dart playing, pool table, and local flavor kind of place. Â The service was so-so, but it is really just that laid back. Â There is plenty of parking on the street & there is a lot as well. Â The menu is not at all extensive, but it is CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP! Â The burgers are tasty, but you can forgo the fries & slaw--kind of meh! Â I just have to love a place that is not only local, but that my hubby & I can eat for $15--woot woot! Â
If you are in the hood, and need a place to just chill, meet up with some friends, do not want an DRAMA, then go no further than the Emerald Isle.
Great bar if you live in the area (or out of it, I suppose). They always have drink deals going on and the bartenders here are great. You'll find that a great deal of people know eachother because it's really a neighborhood crowd. There's a pool table in the back and they are really great at accomodating parties here (we've had quite a few).
The food is pretty typical bar food, but good burgers and great taco specials on Tuesdays! Lots of parking available off Peterson and in the back lot.
This place is about 2 minues walking from my apartment, so I had to give it a try.
The menu is pretty limited, like most bars, but the burgers we had were pretty good. The fries were horrible in my opinion, but my friend liked them. Salt them enough and they're edible.
We went on a Monday, and I think it was cheap pitcher night or something... a guy gave us a pitcher of beer that was at least half full, because he, his girlfriend and her daughter were leaving and he didn't want it to go to waste. It was Amstel, which apparently wasn't bad (I didn't have any, but it was good enough for my friend!).
I'm sure we'll be back again when we want something to drink or just don't want to go too far from home for something to eat. Unfortunately, there's not a no-smoking policy, so that will keep us from visiting really often.
This is the bar that my friends and I ALWAYS hit up. It's in a good neighborhood with plenty of parking and they also have a parking lot in the back. Recently they are having Thursday nights Manicure and Drinks for $12 and I haven't gone yet but will definitely be going this coming Thursday. Their bartenders are very friendly! Their drinks are pretty reasonably priced. Oh yeah, they have a kitchen with good food. Â The other people there are friendly. Like what Liz C. said they have a pool table, lots of TV. They also have a dart board, and another gaming machine. GREAT PLACE!!!
Review Source:Awesome neighborhood bar, dude. There are different drink/food deals every day but our favorite night is Wednesday, dubbed "taco night", when you can get delicious $1.50 tacos and pints of any domestic draft for $1. Pool table, ATM, parking lot, lot's of TV's and a nice neighborhood crowd.
