When my sister first told me that an awesome new beer garden opened in Milwaukee, I didn't fully understand how special this place is until I visited.

This is the real deal.  A traditional German beer garden in a public park.  And a beautiful park at that.

They serve four drafts from the German brewery, Hofbräu, including Original, Hefe Weizen, Dunkel, and a rotating specialty draft.  They also serve some Wisconsin favorites like Lake Front.  The beer is cold, fresh, and served in two sizes:  1/2 Liter and Liter.  Cash only.

The scenery is beautiful. There is a large river that runs right next to the beer garden and you can walk down a path to get closer.  Many people fish nearby and I saw a guy catch a small fish while watching.

The beer is only served in glass steins.  They charge you a $5 deposit per stein and refund you the money when you leave.  There are signs posted warning you not to take the glassware home with you, that they are NOT for sale.  If you do take the stein home, your photo could appear on their website as the person who stole a stein.  Don't be that person.

My fellow Chicago Yelpers:  how do we get a beer garden like this in Chicago?  A scenic spot in Lincoln Park near Lake Michigan would be a huge hit.

It is also BYOF, or bring your own food.  They serve delicious pretzels and brats, but you are allowed to bring in your own picnic or take out food.  I recommend bringing burgers from Kopps, since there is no seating there anyway.

I can't wait to go back.

    Beer gardening at it's best.

I frequently run/ride along the Oak Leaf trail and never really noticed this oasis until a friend mentioned there was a beer garden in the area. After my first stop of sitting outside, people watching, listening to polka, and having a liter of Hofbräu dunkel, I have fallen in love. There is nothing that I associate more with summer than being able to enjoy the outdoors while having a cold one. There is plenty of seating here. But depending on the night, lines can be long!

It's a little pricey, but you're paying for quality beer. I guess they've had issues with people stealing the glassware - expect to pay a $5 deposit on top of your beverage. You'll get it back at the end of the night. Food is also a little on the high end. Mustard with your pretzel is a little extra but worth it if you're looking for a small kick.

I definitely recommend this place if you're looking to rehydrate after a long bike ride or if you're looking to meet up with friends. Bring your dogs too! This place is dog friendly and seeing as I don't have one for myself, I would like to meet yours!

This is like the melting pot of the city.

No one cares if there are kids screaming and running around playing soccer.   For that matter no cares how many stiens you have thrown back.  It kind of reminds me of the good 'ole days, when you had neighborhood block parties.  Everyone is just in a good mood and loving life.

The beer is outstanding.  The pretzles are from Germany.  They do have wine.  Let me suggest for those that are true beer drinkers, myself being one....  DO NOT ask for no foam.  You will be scorned and nearly booted from the park.  I know must of you would never dream of such a faux pas, but for those who may be a little off their rocker, like I am, you have been warned.  Had I not had pretty tough skin, I may have left with my tail behind my legs in tears.  Lesson learned.

The live music is insanely enjoyable.  I will be back again and again and again.

Wish we had something like this where I'm from! First trip to MKE, our hotel was nearby, so we decided to check this place out. So happy we did as it was wickedly fun, lots of people, and delicious beer. A great plAces for all ages, music was playing, and its near the river. Definitely will be back next time I'm in MKE.

One of the best reasons to live in Milwaukee.  Estabrook Beer Garden is a hot spot and worthy of a notch on the 1000 places to visit before you die.

I hit up this place with fellow Yelpers last weekend and was glad I did. You Yelpstas know who you are!  Thanks George for throwing the UYE together.

The beer is incredible. Bring your own stein or be prepared to pay a $5 deposit.  Also, you can bring your own snacks, but don't attempt to bring your own liquor. The food matches the theme with items from the German motherland. The pretzel is one you've got to try!

Looking forward to the next time!

A great example of private enterprise working with Milwaukee Co. Parks. A perfect location in Estabrook Park, it is on the Oak Leaf bike trail, has a large kids play area, as well as a baseball/softball field surrounding it. This classic beer garden is very family-friendly with lots of young children running around. You are welcome to bring your own food, but try a giant German soft pretzel, or freshly grilled sausage to compliment the small but adequate variety of German beers. Live polka bands will frequently play there, which only adds to the great beer garden vibe. A Milwaukee gem, that must be enjoyed.

Last week was the grand opening of the EBG and according to the staff it was jammed and they really did give away free beer.

This time there were more dog owners and family atmosphere large field to play and  liters of beer fine German beer for 11 bucks or .5L for 6$. staff did a good job of picking up and keeping the area clean .

As this is the 2nd year. with addition of new signs .  I noticed that they doubled the seating put in more umbrella tables a raised band stage for the musicians and singer. The south side has an additional serving area that looks like it has space for outdoor grilling but that's just a. along with updated restrooms.  I wanted to bring my camera to take pictures but figured it would not be a good idea.... just don't want to get kicked out this early in the summer. I may take photos around November when its less busy.  For now just trust me.  The restrooms are bright clean and well ventilated.

Who doesn't love a beautiful view and cold, cold, beer?  No one- no one doesn't love it.  The new expanded Biergarten includes more seating, nice rest rooms, a full kitchen and plenty of that great Hofbrau München lager bier.

More pouring stations mean less wait time, bring your own stein to save some money.  Bring your dog, and explore the Old Word German version of Zen..a babbling brook, a nice shade tree, great friends and great beer.

I like the high prices, Keeps the "Riff-Raff" away. Also the seemingly ever present local law enforcement also adds a certain sense of security and safety (as well inferring potential DUI enforcement for patrons).

I really like the concept, but can do without paying $7.50 for a 16oz. tap of beer....$6.50 if you return your plastic cup.  I'm not asking for dollar taps or anything like that, but I think somewhere around $3.50-$4.00 would be a reasonable price for buyers and sellers.

I'll be back when I know my wife and I can go and not drop $45 on three rounds of beer.

Until then, I'll be enjoying my Backyard Beer Garden....at a fraction of the cost.

Came here with a couple friends and sorry but we all thought it sucked.  Read all these awesome reviews and none of us could understand the appeal.

I was expecting a biergarten, but it's just like somebody pulled a keg trailer into a park and that's it, there's nothing more to it.  I was expecting to be able to get a mug of beer, but all they had was plastic cups and  they want a $1 deposit for them?  So a plastic cup of beer was $7.  A total ripoff even after getting the dumb deposit back.  Even for Hofbrau this is kind of expensive.

We don't really like being around little kids, and there were TONS of them running around which was another huge buzzkill.

We thought we might as well go look at the river, but gigantic swarming clouds of gnats made it inaccessible.

Coming here was a waste of time and money, we didn't even finish our beers, we just left and went to some good bars instead.

Hate to be the first one to think this place sucks, I mean I'm glad everyone else seems to like it so much, but it just wasn't for us.  Drinking overpriced beer in a plastic cup around a bunch of little kids birthday parties with a bunch of rugrats running around me in a fly-infested local park is not appealing in the least.

Almost everyone there was really fat.

Best drinking experience in the Midwest, best pretzels in the US. Relax with a tasty bier while the kids play on the playground, then walk home. Not sure how to beat that on a mid 70s summer evening, if anyone knows a place give me a heads up!

5/15/13 - BEER GARDEN OPEN!  The taps are once again flowing at Estabrook Park.  They do not have food yet because they are updating the kitchen. But they do have BEER! I'd say there were a good 75 people there yesterday when I stopped by.  This is going to be a great summer- enjoy!

The best beer garden I've ever been to.  I love how this beautiful spot in the park has just come to life and become vibrant again.  Beer Garden, Dog Park, Disc Golf. Playgrounds - Estabrook is like heaven.

I don't want to beat a dead horse, but this place is great.... 6 Stars if I could.

    Beer:  Check

Food:  BYO for $0 or grab a soft pretzel for $5 from the stand.  The pretzel was good but like every other soft pretzel in my life, 1/2 way through I realize it has too much Veruca (That's salt if you don't know my lingo).

Groups:  Great for groups!  Very large area that can accommodate a lot of people.  Not to mention it's in a park so it is a very kid friendly.  OK scrap that last comment, I don't want this place taken over by kids, so leave them at home or drop them off at the other end of the park to play.

Now Maybe the best part..... live music.  Both times I was here, Sigmund Snopek was playing.  I'm not going to lie to you I had no idea who this guy was and quite frankly I didn't care.  That was until he starting singing a song called "Thank God this isn't Cleveland".  OMG... this is my new favorite song.  Hell, the only reason I know the name of this guy is because I Googled the song and his name came up.  He told a story about playing the song in Cleveland afterwards that was pretty funny as well.

Enjoyed the Bier garden twice before the weather started to chill. This is something that needs to happen in a few more county parks, although the setting has much to do with the appeal of this place.

Communal tables add to the experience and while it can become very busy on weekends (long waits for beers), it is worth the wait.

Looking forward to next summer already.

Oh Bavaria, how I've missed you.  But this Biergarten is a great substitute (and a lot less cheaper what with airfare prices today).

********But here is the part you need to know******
---Bring your own glassware!! I had 4 perfectly awesome Oktoberfest Mas' sitting at home and had I known there is a $5 deposit (CASH ONLY) for each glass I would have brought them all.

---Also did I mention CASH ONLY?  I knew about the cash only part before we went, but the $5 deposit really cut into my beer money ya know?

The setting is beautiful, with communal wooden picnic tables set up, and it looks like they have some lights strung in the trees (but we were there in the day) which probally look great at night.

They serve Hofbrau beer, which I happen to really like.  I think I also saw wine on the menu, which I totally ignored because duh, we are in a Biergarten.

Also we had a pretzel which was very good, along with the Obatzda cheese spread which is a favorite of mine but this one was only so-so.

In Summary: seriously you need to go here but bring your own litre or half-litre.

This is the absolutely best idea Milwaukee has ever had! In this day and age of folks rushing around with their noses in their electronic gadgets, a place where you can sit and get to know total strangers! What a concept. Every time I have come here, i have struck up very interesting conversations with folks I had never met before.

Beer garden should be mandatory in every community! Perhaps we could quit spewing venom and hatred about politics and politicians if we could all get together at the local beer garden once a week and get to know each other!

Be forewarned. The beer is huge and strong and you want to drink a lot of it because it is so much fun!

I definitely recommend getting a pretzel. They are also huge, but oh so good! Kind of crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and lots of rock salt sprinkled on top. This is hands down the best pretzel I have ever eaten. The brats are unremarkable.  Many folks bring a picnic basket which is also fun.

What a wonderful addition to an already beautiful park. My first time here was on a rainy day, so it was unfortunate that I couldn't take it all in, but we made the best of it and put up a few tents under the trees and enjoyed ourselves. The staff working in the building was super friendly and the beer selection is great - a little something for everyone.

I will be back! Bring cash as it just works easier that way. Put a deposit down for your half or full liter glass, grab a beer and sit at one of the many picnic tables. Or enjoy the large lush grass field next to the garden. There is even a nice walking path against the Milwaukee River to enjoy the scenic view on.

I absolutely love going to the beer garden, and try to do so as often as possible. I bring my own stein, and pay the $11 for an original hofbrau! My friends and I bring a deck of cards and some chips and salsa. On the weekends there is a live acordion player and singer, and tons of traditional music. The crowd is very mixed, and very friendly, and due to its close proximity to the Estabrook Dog Park, it is full of cute pooches. Bring a frisbee, there is a huge field right in the back yard. The only downvote would be the food, it's way overpriced for frozen food that's been nuked.
Overall, a great time, bring your own food and enjoy the wonderful beer, and weather (while it's here)!

After spending a summer in Germany I always wondered why the biergarten tradition was not done more in Wisconsin, especially Milwaukee. I would think of all places outside of Germany, Milwaukee would have to be the place to be to find something similar and as of now, the city can officially and joyously say 'yes!' to the biergarten tradition.

The atmosphere is the primary draw to any beer garden. The people, the liveliness, the extent to which everyone comes solely to enjoy good beer, food, and conversation. Estabrook park delivers on all of this and adds even more by existing in a mature park.

While the atmosphere is amazing and the park equally as spectacular (considering its location in the city of Milwaukee) there are a couple of drawbacks. For one, the beer here is expensive. Yes it is hofbrau, they offer the original, weisse, dunkel, and seasonal, it's a maibock at this time but at $11-12 a liter ($6 for a 1/2), that's a little on the pricey side of things and it is cash only so don't forget to bring enough for the deposit ($5) too! The food is also expensive, although their pretzel is big enough for a group to all have a bite, but the upside is you can bring your own picnic. One of the biggest drawbacks would have to be the bathrooms. For an establishment they are pretty rough and could use some updating...

But that being said it is definitely worth checking out!

A veritable all star team of Yelp elites headed out to EBG after our Nauti-cool shindig and the experience leads me to ask one question:

Is someone reading my emails to myself?

This is REALLY close to my vision of heaven. Beer, revelry, brotherhood(/sisterhood), music, beer, brats, sunshine, the river, beer.  Music to my ears.

Here's a tip: Bring your own stein. You'll avoid the deposit shenanigans and look like you know what you're doing at the same time.  Bring some snacks, a football, your dog and some friends, it's all good. You'll have a great time, I promise. The setting is wonderful, with some playfields nearby and the Milwaukee river to the west. It's kinda perfect, really. Also, bring cash. They do not accept any plastic at this time.

I'd like to apologize to the German fellows who were relentlessly harassed by my friend Carlos until they gave him a box of cookies. He means well, he really does.

Yup it's as good as they say.

I finally moseyed on over to the beer garden on Sunday.  Geez, it's cute. It's definitely upgrading Estabrook Park to the next level. Bonus for me, it's within walking distance of where I live!

The premise is so simple, but fabulous.  They offer half and full liters of beer, wine, sodas, brats, and huge pretzels. Bring your own beer stein and you don't have to bother with the $5 deposit for their glasses (which you get back anyway). Make sure you bring cash, as it's all they accept.

There are plenty of picnic tables to sit on, with shade from trees and umbrellas. When I was here they had some men playing accordions and singing. It was entertaining and authentic. I believe they have entertainment every weekend. I enjoyed my Hefe Weizen beer and sharing one of their huge, tasty pretzels. Those with the music, the atmosphere, and the people made the Estabrook Beer Garden the perfect way to enjoy a warm Sunday afternoon. Go. Listen. Eat. Drink. Enjoy.

Stopped by on a motorcycle ride after hearing a lot about this place.  I heard they had brats and beer, and since I was motorcycling, I and my girlfriend tried some brats.  Pretty pathetic and too pricey.  I think it was at least $5 per brat, and not nearly as good as I can get from anyone selling them on the street downtown.

Even worse is the bathroom.  I walked in to try to clear a bug out of my eye, but slowly backed out  before my situation could get any worse.  Even for a public bathroom it was bad.

Beautiful site...it did remind me of Germany. Biergarten tables and a lovely tree-shaded setting near a bubbling body of water.
There were a lot of dogs hanging with their peeps and peeps were drinking plenty o' Bier, all set to a couple of gents playing bass and accordion.
Bring your cash and you will need to pay a $5 deposit for a beer glass.

It's hard to put into words what this place means to someone like me.  Gather up quite a few of the great things I love about my second city, a place I called home for four years, and toss them together on a beautiful summer evening just before dusk, and as my better half said (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/estabrook-beer-garden-milwaukee#hrid:qYEWjWSv9uhd89Kxmd3WJQ">http://www.yelp.com/biz/…</a>)- you've got paradise on earth.

As someone who frequently misses Milwaukee, at all times of the year, coming here was both fulfilling and tragic.  On the one hand I got to experience a bunch of (positive) Milwaukee stereo types: lots of beer, old German dudes playing some polka, people of all ages/shapes/colors/backgrounds hanging out together with the purpose of a good buzz, and the wonderful use of outdoor space to make the most of a beautiful riverside area to bring together the community.

On the other hand, it makes me long for many future returns...  Preferably a couple times a week during the summer months, and even into autumn.  But that pesky trip up the 94 from the Chi would make this too much of a hassle.

Very GOOD beer on tap (Hofbrau- hefeweizen, dunkel and lager) for prices that really can't be beat.  Freshly grilled brats and soft pretzels too.  Plus, if that isn't the type of food you are interested in, bring your own!  This is, after all, a public park in a very open area.

When I think of it, and the seemingly organic way this place exists, it makes me realize just how special a place not only Estabrook Biergarten is, but also the entire city you all have up there.  No way in hell this place could exist in my beloved, though flawed Chicago.

And there's no way in hell I would want it to.  Estabrook Park is just another place on a long, growing list that makes me want to come back to Milwaukee again and again.

    Paradise on earth?
Pretty damn close, if you ask me!

    Just picture this....
A large public park with wide open spaces.
    A babbling river nearby.
Beer flowing from four different taps in large 1-liter stein glasses.
    Warm pretzels and wursts.
    Accordion music.
Dogs, kids, cigarettes, picnic welcome. Well, cigarettes are really not a necessity but if you **must**....

    See?!?!?
    No lie!
    That's a dream come true!

$11 for a full liter of lager, dunkel or hefeweisen; $6 for 500 ml. And just to make sure that you don't start mixing traditions and throwing your glass on the ground while yelling "Opah!!!", Greek-style, you pay a rental charge of $5 for your heavy duty vessel.
Then, you get to work as fast or as slow as you want on the tables and benches thrown on the grass. Be sure to not wander too much around, they play Frisbee golf in the next patch of grass.

It really doesn't get any better than that.

This place is AMAZING! Let me tell you why:

    - They serve liters of beer, 4 different types of beer (3 German and Miller Lite), in large heavy-duty stein glasses
    - For the non-beer drinker they also offer wine and soda
    - They sell huge pretzels and brats
    - It's in Estabrook park, you can bring your dog/kids/family, even your own picnic
    - They have many large tables that you share with the other friendly community members; it's in a nice neighborhood and everyone there (drinkers and workers) were very friendly (great atmosphere!)
    - It's right on the Milwaukee River, which is very scenic in this location (good photo ops!)

Be sure to bring cash, as it is cash only. There is a $5 refundable deposit on the glass, and liters are $11.

I will definitely be visiting the Biergarten many more times before it closes for the season :)

So, I've been hearing whispers via JSOnline and the proverbial block that there was a new, mildly (think "milwaukee") authentic German Biergarten opening up in our very own Estabrook Park. SHUT UP.

So after biking down to get my haircut, which is in shorewood anyway, I decided to bike the few extra miles to Estabrook with the intent of having a beer and bratwurst in the middle of the wilderness.

Note: the easiest way to enter is to take the Parkway off of Hampton, the biergarten is closer, so all you bikers on Capitol, take note.

Anyhow; 3 beers on draught: all Hofbräu: Lager, Dunkel and Hefeweizen. Oh yeah, and Miller Lite...if you consider that beer.

Half Stein (half a liter) or a full liter (11 bucks, + 5 dollar rental charge, which is returned with your glass stein). Or bring your own!

I got a Liter of the Dunkel, and this thing was absolutely giant. Suffice to say I was fairly buzzed by the end of it, which made for a remotely interesting bike ride home.

Also, they have brats. My 2 favorite things on the planet: beer, and brats. In Milwaukee. 7 days week. In the park. OMFG!

I'm sensing a trend this will be my favorite place. ever.

Its also pretty family friendly; so don't get trashed. save that for the bar later.

    Ca$h only. yummy.

    Things I love:
    -I can bring my dog
-I can bring my own food
    -The beer selection
    -Located right by the river
-You can purchase big pretzels and brats
-On weekends you can usually catch a polka band
-everyone is friendly and having a good time

Drop everything and GO while we still have nice weather!

My new favorite place. It's like Oktoberfest every day.

It's chill and comfortable - went on a Saturday night and there was a 3-person band which was fun but not overwhelming. There are plenty of seats and more people took advantage of the field next to it to play frisbee and play with their dogs.

It was my pleasure to spend Sunday evening sitting on a bench overlooking the Milwaukee river listening to the water pour over a small falls while sipping from a one litre mug of imported dunkel. A polka duo played to the crowd; the perfect volume: loud enough to hear and enjoy but not so loud you couldn't also hear the person sitting across from you. Helping this blissful setting was the knowledge that twenty cents out of every dollar I spent on beer was going back to the Milwaukee County Parks system that hosted this setting.

The site was clean and very well managed. The owner, Hans Weisgerber, was on-site (as was Parks director, Sue Black). I had a chance to thank him for fighting to bring this back to Milwaukee and he was incredibly gracious. The patrons were well behaved and there was zero indication that anyone was intoxicated. The staff was very friendly and service was fast and orderly. Cash only right now and a five dollar deposit is required to use their mugs. Eleven dollars for a litre of imported beer is a little pricey but, again, more than two dollars of that went right back to the Parks System (is that a tax write off?). If you need a mug get in the right hand queue to get your first beer and pay your deposit. For refills and to return your mug get in the left hand lane. It doesn't get more German than that kind of orderly fashion!

The return of the biergarten to Milwaukee parks was long overdue. Over the last 30+ years the city has failed to embrace its German ties (the same German ties that helped spawn Parks system itself, built the city's industry and even led to Summerfest). One doesn't have to be German to see the benefits that these provide and to embrace their cultural significance. Biergartens offer a chance for people from all areas of the community to get together. Milwaukeeans, of all ethnic backgrounds, love to drink. But unlike the typical tavern setting, which attracts a certain class of people from typically narrow geographies, I saw people from myriad backgrounds enjoying the fresh air and good beer. It certainly makes one feel like part of a community rather than a demographic.

If you enjoy the biergarten, it's important to let your County Supervisor know that you support their continued existence and growth. Currently (as of 6/25/12) there is only a one year lease in place. I'm sure most of us like to see these in many other parks in the county as long as they are equally well managed. It only takes 10 minutes to send an email.

What's missing from the biergarten? A local craft brewery beer. While it's nice to see Hofbräuhaus there, I can imagine that working with Lakefront or another brewery would result in a special beer just for the biergartens. Perhaps an Oktoberfest available year round?

You guys! I just realized what Milwaukee's been missing all these years - a beautiful space to drink delicious beer outside! You may think you've done this before, but you are wrong. You've never done *this* before, but you must.

Bring your own mug (because plastic cups would end up littering the park and river - though you can pay a $5 deposit to borrow a mug), sip some delicious beer, sit at a big table and meet some new friends, then maybe take a stroll by the river, and grab a pretzel or a brat, or bring your own picnic to enjoy.

Based on the truly epic grand opening, I have high hopes for this place and I look forward to spending lots of lovely summer evenings here.

    Prost!

Have you ever woken up at 2 am on your living room floor and wondered, hmmm how did I get here?  Did I fall off the couch, did I lay on the floor to play with my cat Steve and just decide it was too hard to get back up.... well the world will never know.  BUT, what I do know is that after drinking liters all night at this great park, I really could care less where I end up.

I have never been to Europe although if this is what it's like, I'm ready to book the plane ticket now!  Such a great idea- having a beer garden in a public park.  The atmosphere is super laid back, tons of picnic tables with umbrellas( this white skin can't handle the sun) lights strung from trees, sitting with strangers and everyone getting along.  Food is served but you are also encouraged to bring your own and really make a picnic out of it.  This is such an awesome idea and I'm happy to see that Milwaukee is really taking the steps needed to offer some cools ways to enjoy our wonderful parks.

This place was rockin' last night!!!  The line for beer was easily 50 people deep and not one person looked ticked about the wait.  The staff worked as hard as they could to accomidate the large turn out and the polka band just made the night that much more awesome.  Beer is offered in half liter and liter( pints are for wuss bags) you can bring your own steins or you can pay a refundable $5 to use their liters.  Props to the beer garden for staying green and using glass instead of paper products!!!!

So in case you're wondering, "hey where is Angela T going to be this summer" well the answer is Estabrook Beer Garden!!!!

    Oans, zwoa, g'suffa!!

So, this is what they mean when the old folks talk about "the good old days". Hats off to the Milwaukee County Board for getting this right. In today's age of political correctness, it's nice to see that a few  visionaries can still get together and decide that a Bier Garten in a county park run by a legendary Milwaukee family (Weissgerber's) is a good thing. This is a license to print money. Build it and they will come, and drink. My only question, is "why did they wait so long?"

We attending the Bier Garten's "Grand Opening." It was absolutely epic!! Anytime there is a promise of free beer, Milwaukeeans turn out in droves, and last night was no exception. Free beer may have drawn many of these people here, but the beautiful location and wonderful atmosphere will keep them coming back. Who doesn't want to hang out with a couple hundred other beer lovers, listen to polka music, sit in the shade, and drink like barn animals?? I know I do. I can see myself spending countless hours here this summer. It seems like a very peaceful oasis and a perfect setting to make new friends, drink a liter of delicious German lager, and solve all of the world's problems.

So, bring your best drinking vessel, don your lederhosen or dirndl, and head on down to Estabrook for some glorious Gemutlichkeit.

    Es ist Wunderbar!!

I'm a bit bummed not to be the first to review this one...we saw the  flags flying and were really excited that this was open. Friendly bar staff, and super nice to drink a beer in a solid glass mug in the park.  Right by the waterfall, too.  Be sure, as the previous reviewer mentioned, that you bring $5 extra because you have to pay a deposit for your glass (they refund this when you return your glass).

BierGarden!   Bonus points if you bike to it and save the earth!!!!
