My guiltiest pleasure is an order from Fish N Go consisting of the following:
1. Â 3/4 pound of chicken "nuggets" with a side of their BBQ sauce
2. Â Large potato salad (I savor each bite, incredible flavor)
3. Â Order of hushpuppies
If you live in the hood, call in your order, then drop by for a pickup. Â Everything is made fresh to order. Â Seriously, you can watch them prepare your fried goodness. Â Nothing is warmed up, or sitting around. Â Bring cash - it's very reasonably priced - and then take your order home.
I never see anyone inside when I go by, but they are still in business. I picked up some fish chips (cod) on my way home today. I was lucky enough to score a parking spot right in front, so it was fate.
The fish was very good, as was the slaw and potato salad. The man behind the counter is friendly. I'd love to see this place do enough business to stick around for a long time. They have quite a variety of fish and a decent amount of sides. Mom really loved the fish, so I guess I will be visiting more often, because what momma wants, momma gets! (Of course)
I had the fried shrimp. They had good flavor and the breading was very crunchy. They could have used just a bit of seasoning, but that's my personal taste.
The fries were fresh-cut and very good.
The prices were very reasonable.
The people were friendly and the place was clean. There are a few places to sit along the wall and window, but this place is mostly carry-out. There is all kinds of street parking along Pulaski.
I would return!
Tried this for the first time today and was very happy with my lunch! This is definitely a carryout place and that is ok with me, I called ahead and my food was ready when I got there 12 mins later just like they said it would be!
I skipped breakfast so everything on the menu looked interesting to me but I knew that my eyes were bigger than my stomach so had to resist the urge to order everything! So I settled for a 1/2lb of shrimp, 1/4 lb fish chips, small fry and hushpuppies.
This was an enormous amount of food, I was expecting small portions but got a ton (8-10) of large shrimp (I forgot to count), 6 hushpuppies, a good amount of fries for a small and 5-6 or so fish chips, maybe more but I didn't really count.
The fish and shrimp had a nice crunchy coating but were still nice and meaty and cooked perfectly. Hushpuppies were excellent had that wonderful crunchy exterior but a nice soft interior with a nice onion flavor. Fries were good as well and all in all this was an excellent first time experience and I will definitely be back.
I gotta say unless something changes I won't be venturing back to Hagen's with this place right down the street!
Better than I expected, not quite the same menu as Hagen'.
Â
Fried fish and chicken.  First time today, 7/15/11 and I had Fish Chips, Clam Strips and Smelt.  All very good, as good as Hagen's  So were the French Fries - made fresh from unpeeled potatoes. Â
Â
It took about 10 minutes to make the order. Â I'm pretty sure the 1/4 pound serving was a little more than 1/4 pound.
Â
Mostly for pickup, not dining in. Â Street Parking on Pulaski on the east side of the street. Â Call in advance with your order, leave the flashing lights on as you park to run in and pick up.
I had seen this place for a while and decided to give it a try. I ordered 1/4 of chicken nuggets and 1/4 shrimp to test things out. The nuggets were great made from real chicken breast unlike the processed ones from fast food places. The shrimp were awesome to good size and breading taste good. I will definitely be a return customer to this place.
Review Source:After a night of darts me and a friend needed late night snacky snacks and walked down the street to grab a bite to eat. The first thing you'll notice at Fish N Go is the blazing heat that emanates from the kitchen behind the count. The sweltering heat is likely to knock you out and the wait for food can be a test of endurance against the heat. Â
Fish N Go's menu includes chicken, various fried fish, fried shrimp, and lots of deep fried eats. the price was not too bad $8.99 for 3/4 lb shrimp and $1.75 for small fries or something like it. It is kind of annoying to pay 30 cents for cocktail and tartar sauce but whatevs.
The food took ten minutes and the shrimp was crunchy but not tooooo overcooked. I wish they had given me a slice of lemon and that probably would have rounded out everything.
A late night deep fried greasy spoon that is what you'll find over at Fish N Go. Maybe I go back, maybe I don't - it all depends on the intersection of opportunity and time and on the corner of Pulaski and Lawrence.
Good shrimps! big!big i was there yesterday oh man it taste real shrimps. it's on Lawrence/Pulaski recommended to everybody..

I tried the white fish, shrimp, catfish, and the chicken strips, as well as macoroni and potatoe salad, all were great. What I really liked was that the fish actually had meat on it!! what bothers me most is when u order fish somewhere and all u get is the breading and a sliver of actual fish meat, this place did deliver! really great prices try them out
