First time at a Five Guys, and I'm sadly unimpressed. The service was friendly and prompt, but with all the hype about this place, I expected better quality all around. The classic burger featured two bland, greyish patties (it seemed they were completely unseasoned), pink--almost translucent--tomato slices, and a soggy bun. I ordered the Cajun fries alongside, and they were nice for the first five minutes, but I ended up eating less than half of them because they also were excessively greasy (and I've never turned down diner food before) and more or less like a salt-lick. I wouldn't choose this over any fast-food burger, and the cost was eight or nine dollars, without including a drink.

Still a good burger, but I thought they put fries in the bag. Â Granted I don't go here very often, but when I went in the past, they put fries in the bottom of the bag, even if you didn't order any. Â Was in the mood for some grease today, so I ordered a burger. Â I skipped ordering fries, because every time I ordered them in the past, they were way too much, especially since they already add them to the order. Â Did something change??? Â $9. for just a burger and a drink is a bit too much. Â Fries would have made me happy. :-(
Richard C. There is no other chain burger joint in Eddy street commons, so pretty sure you didn't eat at five guys as the small is a qtr pound burger and the regular is two of those. Never dry sometimes a little greasy but never dry if it was you should have taken it back, as they have always had great service! So might want to make sure you are reviewing a restaurant you have visited. I hate people that put up false reviews because they like to be morons, the whole idea is to give honest reviews to perpetuate good restaurants and help locals and out of Townes find a good meal, not slam a business because you have no brains!!!

Nice juicy burgers on a par with many decent bar burgers I've tasted in the past. I love the selection of toppings and opted for lettuce, pickles, mayo, and hot sauce--the only thing that would have made it better would be if they offered sliced olives as one of the add-on selections. And like bar burgers, they had more than there share of grease...which is why they're so good...and why I can't eat them too often :)
They had more than ample staff, they filled my order accurately and quickly, and the staff was pleasant.
This Five Guys is in a brand-new mixed-use condo/retail development across the street from University of Notre Dame.
