Love the lamb kabobs here!  The chickpeas and rice are also good.  I'm not a huge fan of the bread which is disappointing because with some of the other kabob places I've been to, the bread is enough reason to go.  The owner and cooks are super friendly, always welcome us when we walk in and ask us how things were before we leave. They also often give us free soup while we wait for our kabobs.  Great spot for lunch.

I am SAD to say the boneless chicken kabob portions have gotten considerably smaller. The total serving amount is literally half the size it used to be and each individual boneless breast chunk has noticeably shrunk in size. When you open your to-go carton, you see the same number of kabobs but they are TINY now, scattered, chargrilled, lifeless pieces of chicken thrown together, and a few are even bite size. No more succulent big juicy pieces, no more sharing, and certaintly no leftovers. The taste is still there but the portion size has substantially gone down. We go here at least once a month and it has been this way for a long time. I just haven't updated this review. And I would not mind paying $2-3 more per entree for the old portion sizes. I love this place that much.

It is also noteworthy to mention that early in 2012 when we were dining in, we overheard another dine-in male customer complain to the owner, who was greeting customers seated at the tables, about the same thing! The customer also complained why the chicken kabob pieces he got now were really small and how the quantity of it was not enough. The owner ordered the cook in the back to cook up more and promised the customer that he wouldn't leave until he was full. Unfortunately, that's not the case day in and day out.  And clearly, the manager obviously doesn't really care because he is probably the one that iniated the changes to begin with. Typical business owner :(

The best lamb kabobs I've EVER had! Hands down. A few of the cooks can be a little hard to communicate with but the food makes up for it. The owner is very nice and friendly.

Really overrated. Chicken flavorful but so dry. Bread dry. Chickpeas bland. Would not recommend.

I'm Afghan so naturally it means I go to a lot of Afghan restaurants.  Food Corner is my favorite "fast food" kabob place.  They have delicious Kabobs and Bread at a reasonable price.  This is the one place I like to go to on a regular basis and the food's always consistent.  I've been to fancier places and full fledged restaurants, and this place beats most of them in quality and price.

The only thing I've noticed over the years is that at first their portions were huge and now just average, but the taste and price make up for it.

For what it's worth, I would probably catch a night helo into Kandahar for food this good.  The bread was so authentic I caught myself scanning for IEDs in the parking lot.  Great food, great service, will come again.

I'm Afghan so of course I have to try all Afghan restaurants in the NOVA area.  My mom raved about how delicious their salmon kabob is and surely enough it was reallyyyyy good!  This is not a fancy place, I think it's actually located next to a strip joint.  My only major complaint is: their food is REALLY REALLY greasy.  To the point where the oil actually sits on the sides of the bowl and you can pour it out.  Not sure why they do that...they're just wasting money.  Anyways....I WILL be returning.

UPDATE:  I returned again for the salmon kabobs and they were killer!  One thing was missing though...lemon...I asked the owner if he had any, he said no.  Five minutes later he walks in the door with a handful of lemons.  He actually went out and got me lemons...how awesome is that?!  Weeks later my mom asked for lemon as well, and once again, he went out and bought some.  Super nice guy.

Well, I love afghan food. And I go to many different Afghan restaurants. Recently I went to Food Corner Kabob House in Brookfield Plaza. You could call the place clean with no doubt. The food is pretty good, but a little bit on the greasy side. I go to that place maybe once or twice every two months and am usually happy with it. This time was okay I guess. I got the combo and it was pretty good but really greasy. That visit wont make me hate the place, but I hope to be more happy on my next visit.

I have been coming to Food Corner Kabob in annandale for few years now, we decide to try springfield one while is closer to our house.
So disappointed:( We called in order and said we will come 30 min later for Iftar.
We come in food was not ready, there was only 1 customer so they weren't busy,
We had to ask 3 times for soups.
We ordered beef kebab an lamb chops. My husband lamb was very nice, my beef was horrible, over cooked hard and chewy.

I frequented their Tysons Corner location when I worked in the area a few years ago.  After becoming a stay at home mom, I needed to get my kabob fix but was too lazy to drive all the way to Tysons.  Imagine how giddy I got when I found out they have another location closer to my house!  I even got my husband hooked that he's always willing to drive all the way to Springfield to get some!  I usually order the beef kabob platter with a side of chickpeas and it never disappoints.  Juicy, flavorful and good portions too.  I've tried other places (Moby Dick's in Kingstowne and Kabob Grill in Woodbridge), and I always come back to Food Corner Kabob.  I can't comment on the restaurant or ambiance as my husband always does take out.  But I really don't care much about atmosphere as long as the food is good.

My mom and I decided to try this place out and get lunch to-go.  We ordered the shish kabob lunch special and the chicken kabob lunch special ($8.95 each) which came with salad, rice, and 1 side of our choice.  We both opted for chickpeas.  Overall, the food was great because the portions were decently sized, (they were quite generous with the rice) and the meat was flavorful.  The service was so-so because there was a language barrier and I had to repeat myself a couple of times.  We also had to ask for the green and white dipping sauces -- which I thought would usually come complimentary with your orders.  I'll probably call ahead to order next time.

I really like FCK:3; this one (2) had really old lamb and bread and I didn't get feta in my sandwich (even though it's on the menu).
The restaurant gives of an old/worn but clean vibe and the two gentlemen working here were both friendly.

I'm not even sure how to rate this place, all I know is that I did not enjoy my experience!  A place that has a vegetarian menu usually wins me over, or at least lures me over.  Well, this place does and did but the minute I walked in I regretted my decision.  For starters, the place was loud.  I couldn't seem to get the attention of the person taking my order for he was too busy conversing with a woman (even as he took my order).  In addition there was a huge language barrier.  I had questions about the menu and his response to everything was "yeahyeah" (no pause). I ordered the veggie kabob and had to look away because I'm almost 100 percent sure that it was cooked on the same grill as the meat kabobs were.  I apprehensively ate it only to get  sick ;) 10 minutes later.  I wont go back and don't recommend it to a vegetarian or anyone who expects decent service.

This place isn't known for their atmosphere, but their food and service are really good.  The chicken is tender, the salmon is flavorful, and their platters come with rice, a side (the spinach is delicious!) and fresh bread.  Although the rice is a bit greasy and tasteless, this no frills place has a lot to offer.

My family and I have been coming to Food Corner Kabob House for a few years now. The original manager knew my family, but he passed the restaurant to another family member (perhaps his brother) and that's when we sort of stopped coming...

The new management doesn't have the same... I don't know.... finesse? The new cooks and staff aren't as nice.

Over the years, the portions have become smaller, but I don't know if the prices have changed.

But, the rating and remainder of the review will be based on the food.

I really enjoy all of their vegetarian sides, chick peas are a family favorite.

I always order the Chicken Kabob platter and the chicken is always flavorful, fully cooked, and guaranteed to please!

I was a huge fan of the Annandale location for years, but quite honestly, the quality of that place is steadily declining at this point (tho I DO still eat there).
we went to check out this location this weekend. We were SO impressed with the service. The guy behind the counter was friendly and even offered us samples of soup (mmmm) and a desert that he had just made (almost like funnel cake-with honey on it). EVERYTHING our group ordered was delicious! Everyone LOVED their food and we all left there stuffed.
The Annandale location DOES have a alot cool stuff from Afghanistan decorating it, which I like alot but the service and food in Springfield is really so much better. The food was exactly like it used to be in Annandale. Im already looking forward to going back.

What can I say about Food Corner that everyone hasn't already said here!  I agree with everyone that has reviewed on this location!  However, this is the tastiest out of all of the franchises!  I've been to all of the locations and the flavor that is infused in the kabobs here is absolutely different than all of the others.  They use the charcoal and OMG the smoked flavor with the seasonings is aMMASSing!  You literally want to eat the juice that drips out of the chicken in your tray....dip the bread!

The portions are overloaded, they give you the side salad, rice, and an extra side with your combo order.  I feel that they give more meat for some reason, but it may just be an illusion.  Nevertheless, you could literally eat half for lunch, half for dinner with any combo that you order.  Also, the service is always great!

Recommendations: Boneless Chicken Kabob with chickpeas yum!
Secret Tip: Wait until the afternoon, when the meat has had time to marinate for a while and the charcoal has settled to give the deep smoked flavor.
Pros: Amazing flavor, great portions, great lunch special $9.99 (?), spacious, and not crowded
Cons: Next to a not so classy strip club lol...but if you like that you can go right after...

    Happy Eating! Enjoy! ~

To date my most favorite kabob joint.  I always get the shami( ground beef) can never go wrong but sometimes can be overcooked. Very generous portions, you get a salad with their own dressing and one side to choose from. I usually get the chickpeas or cauliflower. A very casual place for a quick lunch or dinner.

Wow ,so glad that the trusted Yelp has did it again. I had eaten at the Tysons location but Yelp help me find this location and its closer to where I live but the best part is that its even better tasting than the Tysons location. Supposedly the meats are cooked over charcoal here vs gas so it had more taste. Menu and prices are all the same. I had the chicken and beef sharmi kabob, with chickpeas over the rice. DELISH! I also asked to the try the cauliflower and eggplant sides and both were great.  Definitely a return for me.

4.5. I really like this place a lot. It's not fancy-shamancy, very casual, but it's clean, the people who work there have always been super nice, the kabobs are good, AND I love their sides (chick peas and spinach please.) They cook those kabobs and cook 'em good. The meat has never been tough, always juicy, and I just really really like their sides a lot.

This place is in Brookfield Plaza next door to the 7-11. Go!

    sshhhh.

Don't tell Ravi, but I've been cheating on him.

I know Pakistan and Afghanistan share the Taliban, but they also share great kabobs. I mean, both are different - but both are so good. (the kabobs - not the Taliban) What do they marinate the chicken in to get that succulent taste? Opium maybe? Who knows?

All I do know is that they roast their meat over a real flame created by some metallic contraption, and the end result is a great lunch. Whatever your meat platter you order is, there is a side of rice with a choice of veggie toppings, a small salad, a giant slab of bread that cradles the meat, and a little side of green sauce with a slight kick, called tzatziki (which is Greek yogurt with peppers) sauce.

I haven't yet tried the Salmon or Shrimp kabobs, but that's just another excuse to go back for more. There are number of vegetarian options for those who like okra, potatoes, cauliflower, chick peas, and lentils (you get the picture).

You know something? The Taliban have it all wrong. If they really wanted to sell Islam to the heathen West, they really shouldn't bother with that whole, eternal virgins in heaven angle (really - I'd rather be with a girl who knows what the hell she's doing). They should start with some good old Halal meat kabobs.....   then you work on the salvation of the soul. You never know what might work?
