Hey Marcus...Don't know you, but that's hilarious!  I think we may have gone to school together, but I am uncertain.  If it's not who I'm thinking of, I'm getting that Billy Madison feeling, and it's someone I've damaged...I don't remember, they do....and they're shinning a rifle.  So...as an explaination, Don't think I need to get my a@@ kissed...I just don't appreciate anyone speaking ill of my kids, and...I'm sorry if I ever treated you badly.  Listen, I'm glad you had a good experience, though I won't be returning.  Apparently dependent on your visit time vs. your review time, you may have avoided the food quality window.

KC STAR*  Freddy T's Bar & Grill, 7920 W. 151st St., Overland Park, had seven critical violations during a May 30 inspection following a complaint. They included: Accumulation of mold on nozzles of soda dispenser, and mashed potatoes, taco meat, potato soup and mushrooms held at improper temperatures .
"Food safety and the well-being of our customers is our top priority," said Mary Mapes, co-owner. "Unfortunately that day the ball was dropped and procedures were not followed. The staff has been retrained on how to reheat the food."

As an update, I did speak with Mary the owner and she did on her 3rd call refund our check.  At first, she understandably didn't believe it, but apparently confirmed it.  I'm giving them one extra star for the refund.

I really hope they do get their act together, as I do with all smaller local businesses.

Hadn't been here for several years, but thought we'd try it out since smoking is banned indoors.  I was amazed they are still in business, given the rudeness of the staff and poor quality of the food.  We had 10 people in our group and we were told basically to go somewhere else, despite the fact that the room was over half empty.  Due to the lateness of the hour and wanting to stay close, we made the mistake of throwing our money away at a poorly run, badly smelling dive bar with an attitude.  The waitress either had a severe mental impairment or it was her first day.  She didn't know what types of beer they had on tap, didn't know what type of wine (Chardonnay?  Umm I'm not sure) nor scotch (I don't know, what types are there?), and was the rudest person I have ever met.  The food was mediocre at best, which is fine for a bar, but coupled with the demeaning attitude of the staff and manager, made for a terrible evening.  The patio must vent directly into the restaurant because we all came home reeking of smoke.  I would check out Coach's, Lewwellyn's, Paddy O Quigley's, or any one of the many sports bars in the area before I would go to this disaster of a dive bar.

This is a good place now... what do I mean by that?  Well now that the smoking ordinance is in effect you can actually see in the place.  It has a large number of tv's and my kids like going. The Burgers and wings are very good, the other nice thing about the place is that you can get in, you would never know where in a recession by the restaurant lines in Johnson County.

Go at 8:30 on a Friday and catch the kareoke (however you spell it) its a french word that means make an ass out of yourself.

This is a nice little sports bar located in the back of a strip mall.  It is very easy to overlook this spot.  Just so you know its a sports bar, there are a lot of TVs all on different games and sports channels.  The inside is quite dark.

When I was here, it was during off-hours so there weren't too many people inside.  Ordered their sandwiches, all of which were good.  The French fries were great.  Their menu is basically standard bar food, lots of sandwiches and the like.  Price on the sandwiches and drink ended up about $11/person.  They serve breakfast items on weekends until 2:00.  If I was less hungry at the time, I might have gone with one of those items.

I am rarely in this area, but I might stop in next time I am in the area.

Freddy T's is the kind of place that is a destination spot, its situated directly behind a McDonald's in a strip mall and its not the kind of place you would just wander into.  I doubt the patrons mind this.

The atmosphere indoors in dimly lit and I imagine this place gets packed for broadcast sporting events.    The staff is personable and very prompt with beverage refills.  Moving outdoors to the patio provided a much more comfortable way to enjoy the day, company, and libations.

WARNING:  Do not walk out on your tab.  You will be remembered.  For a very long time.  While this did not apply to me it did to a gentleman attempting to stroll in during my visit.  A large shouting match between said gentlemen and bartender moved out to the parking lot and just when physical violence seemed imminent the defendant hopped in his beat up Grand Am and rode off into the sunset.  The bartender informed us he skipped back in December.

Not the kind of place you bring someone you're trying to impress, your immediate family, or small children, be advised.

When it came to pay the bill (and you best believe I won't ever forget to do that here):  Strong Ketel & Soda+ 2 MASSIVE beers = $13.00.  Nice.  We couldn't have gone to a movie for less then that and this was far more entertaining.
