Great food, went late Friday night and it is a shame the place was dead.  Just a few couples at the bar, the bartender was very friendly and after chatting up with him it's too bad that the place is not attracting more people because he was attentive and wanting to entertain.

The Pretzel was ginormous and excellent with the German mustard, the beef potato soup was superb and so were the chicken wings.  We just stopped in for a quick beer and bite but I will definitely like to stop in again and check out the dinner menu.

The best German potato salad I have ever had. The schnitzel is good, and spaetzle is really good too. They have a good selection of beer as well.  Good family restaurant.

My partner and I had dinner there Monday night. They offered a 2 for 1 special for wienerschnitzel, among other things, and what a bargain! I would have gladly paid full price for both meals.

The dish also included cold potato salad. We ordered red cabbage as a side dish. Everything was prepared to perfection.

The atmosphere was very nice, and the waitress was friendly and helpful.

Also, there's a very large selection of beers and other drinks.

    We'll definitely be returning!

German food is one of my favorites, so that starts off as a plus
We were going to another local German restaurant but they were closed and as we drove off we notices Fritz and Franz...ok we had been meaning to give it a try anyway.
The decor is sort of German Bierhaus, but unfortunately the booths are not really comfortable...straight backs...
The food and our server more that compensated for this.
I LOVE Sauerbratten, as it turns out Friday it's a special, and special it was.
I'd say it was the best I have had in a LONG time, great Red Cabbage and Spaetzl.
We also had a Veal Sausage dish with excellent sauerkraut, and potato's.
They don't have my favorite Weiss Beer on tap but the bottles was pretty good.
Our server could not have been more attentive and pleasant..what more can you ask.

We went for my son's 14th Birthday! Very family friendly, great knowledgeable staff. Loved the delicious authentic German food & Oktoberfest beer. We will definitely be back. The nightly specials are a great value as well. Thanks for a terrific time!

Lederhosen and DELICIOUS German food.  It was the best German food I've had in South FL.  I hope they have an Oktoberfest event because I'm so there.  Come to this place!!

This German spot on Commercial Blvd in Ft Lauderdale is pretty good. The menu is really short but the quality of it is good. They have a very large selection of German beers on tap and bottle and if you dont know what they are they will let you sample them for free so you can choose one you like. Overall its a good place and I would go back, prices are fair and the food is good.

Prices are way to high for what they give out and the friend who went with me felt sick after, it was good food just no wow factor.

Great German restaurant in Fort Lauderdale...friendly staff, good food and atmosphere.  Prices do seem a bit on the high side but it is worth it.  Try the sliders on the app menu...they are seriously good...the pretzel with cream cheese is another winner.  We like to sit at the bar but the booths are nice as well.

Outstanding!  Got the Pork scallopini with mushroom & bacon. Awesome selection of true german beers. Do it for games with friends who want to hammer down some beers.

Sweet pub in Ft. Lauderdale! They have great German beers on tap, and the staff is friendly and helpful... We were only passing through, but I would absolutely come back here!
As a side note, the spiced cream-cottage cheese served with pretzels was great! I was expecting to enjoy the mustard (which was perfect!) with them, but was exceptionable surprised! So tasty! :)

I have been here a couple times. The food is good and well presented, but the menu is somewhat limited. See their website daily specials menu for more variety on their dinners (after 5pm). They serve coke from the bar tap so the coke is very flat. The ice tea is not much better. I guess they figure everyone drinks beer. The prices are slightly high. For the price, please fix the poor ice tea and don't serve coke from the bar please! The staff wear cute German Oktoberfest outfits and the place is neat and clean. Parking is free close to the street in the large parking lot. Parking closer will require feeding the meter, so park near the street. Fritz and Franz has two locations, Ft. Lauderdale and Coral Gables.

Probably the most authentic Austrian/German restaurant I have found in south Florida! Spatzle and schnitzel are just like my grandfather  used to make .... Delicious!

Had a fabulous meal there this past Sunday. the owner was so nice, coming over to our table and visiting with us many time after each course. It felt as if I were in my grandmothers kitchen eating with my family.
All the food we had was great, even the fish and chips and chicken wings!
We loved the liptaur dip with the warm soft pretzels!! The best I have had in over 20 years.
My father, and daughter each had as wonderful a time as I did....a definite recommend if you want some great food!

After driving by and seeing Fritz and Franz on Yelp, we decided to try it for lunch today. Great authentic atmosphere, friendly service and good food. Nice cold Warsteiner on draft along with the bratwurst sandwich and a couple shnitzel sandwiches. Really good potato salad and don't miss the apple streudel (with vanilla ice cream of course) which is homemade!

Holy Shizer --- This place is awesome. The staff is friendly, and the food is delicious. They opened around a month ago. And i recently visited for Octoberfest. The Bier was great. Huge selection.

THe Jagershnitzel is out of this world. It is a must have. Also do not forget to order the spatzel.

BEWARE -- you need to pay for parking meters 25cents for 30 min.

As a general rule, I've found German restaurants to be darn good at beer and pork; beyond that they seem to be both drink and culinary challenged. Fritz & Franz Bierhaus, as the name would imply, seems to fit within that rule. They have some really great beers, though I found their draught selection somewhat limited though overall adequate. Their "Jagerschnitxel mit Spatzle" (sautéed pork scaloppini in bacon and mushroom) was very good and I look forward to having their Special Night (whenever that may be) "Knuspirg gebratene Schweinshaxe" (crisp pork shank); particularly to compare it to that served at local area favorite, Checkers Old Munchen on Atlantic in Pompano. If Fritz & Franz can match the taste, quality of flavor of theirs, I will indeed be impressed.

The local area has a lot of rather good German restaurant competition; being Checkers Old Munchen and the long standing Ambry located only a couple of hundred yards away. Hence, I think it is going to be a tough haul for Fritz and Franz to compete or match up. In fact I see two immediate obstacles to their future success. First off is ambiance. Though completely redecorated and the matre de' dressed in traditional southern German lederhosen the general décor and feeling didn't seem very German to me. The second is the location. Fritz & Franz is located in a space formerly occupied by the failed Angelo's of Mulberry (lousy place and good riddance), Zo's Off the Hook and several other places which names I'm unable to presently recall. In other words, it's a location commonly known for and having a tradition of failed restaurants. Maybe that is the reason the place was practically vacant during my visit, and this on Oct. 9th, eve of the first day of traditional Ocktoberfest! That fact alone doesn't exactly augur well for its future.

However, on the bright side, they have some interesting though seemingly, to me, nonsensical plans for the place such as opening the upstairs or other areas of the restaurant for a French Bistro and also a place for a Blues Bar. Somehow French, Blues and German under a singular roof seems like a strange fit. I can't think of a culture or cuisine further apart than German and French, and much less that either have the faintest clue of 12 beats to a bar progression 4/4 timing blues.

It is always a great pleasure to get good German food and Bier. Harald has been well established in Coral Gables for many years and is now providing the same in Fort Lauderdale.

The downstairs is well designed in the more traditional southern German style. The benches make it easy to sit next to someone and start a chat. Center booths and more freestanding tables make this location a little more "gemuetlich" than Coral Gables, which has higher ceilings and more TV's.

The full bar serves everything your heart desires, but really, you are going here to get some Bier and Schnaps! Serve it up with some Schnitzel, German Potato Salad and Pretzel!

The upstairs is called Satchmo's, which some may remember from many moons ago down south... This darker, large open space with a walk around bar will surely have lots of great blues and other live music, the other passion of the owner.

Check it out if you are in the area, especially now, during "Oktoberfest" time.
