Yum!  Every time I've eaten here I love what I'm eating.

Simply great "down to earth" food!

I've been dining at Good Earth Edina for many years and what a treat! The menu is full of yummy food options. It is especially a great place for vegetarians, vegan and gluten-free diners. The food is all natural + they work with local growers and organic suppliers to source all the ingredients. It's also a great place if you're trying to eat healthy, but want a full stomach!

If you're a "fresh, fresh" juice fan, it's a good way to start the meal. This time around I had the Immune-C with fresh wheat grass with a shot of squeezed orange juice. Dinner was the monthly special of the Limousin Beef Pot Roast - slow cooked and served with roasted fingerling potatoes, carrots, cauliflower and beef au jus. It hit the spot on a cold MN winter evening of warming AND filling me up. For dessert I had the homemade Carrot Cake - a more all natural version with lots of carrots   - more savory than sweet - not really my thing.

My only feedback from not making this a five-star review - the atmosphere/decór. As others have mentioned the place feels more like a Denny's than a all-natural organic eatery. The space feels caught in 1991. But great service and excelled food make up for it all. During the summer months, I strongly suggest you eat outside for a more relaxing atmosphere.

Wandering the Galleria, Good Earth seemed so inviting and warm from the outside. So, we made reservations for a Friday night. Glad we did because there was quite a wait for those who didn't.

The server brought us a variety of breads and hummus. This was not exactly the highlight of the meal. The entrees were much better. I ordered a fish special that came with cranberry stuff (salsa? chutney? not sure what word I am looking for here.) and wild rice. I can't remember the details of this dish but I do remember that it was pretty fabulous.

My bf ordered one of their burgers. I was hesitant about this order after his burger experience at French Meadows. I wondered if "healthy, organic"-type restaurants were capable of making juicy, succulent burgers. And Good Earth proved that, yes, they can make awesome burgers.

Our waitress was a little strange that night. She must have been new. She was making all kinds of blunders, not just at our table. I found the atmosphere relaxing- something between casual and fine dining. I will return.

I have dined at this location several times now for breakfast only.  In reading some of the other reviews, I will agree, this place is hit-or-miss.  I have never had a service related issue here.  In fact, the service has been impeccable each time.  Friendly, courteous, competent, and prompt.  Although, I will say if you intend to dine here for breakfast on a weekend, be prepared to wait.  It gets very busy.  Overall, I tend to prefer the Roseville location over this one.

The only contention/complaint I have is with the food.  Don't get me wrong, I love the fact they offer menu items with all natural ingredients.  Some notables are the whole grain pancakes, omelettes with fresh ingredients (organic eggs are extra), and nitrate-free bacon.  But it seems the quality has decreased over the years.  In the past, I remember being served a meal that justified the high(er) prices.  Lately though, however, I would say the food is more comparable to what you would get a Denny's or Perkin's.  My apologies for the vague generalization, but I recall leaving here 'wowed' in the past and that has not been the case upon my last couple visits.

I really enjoy the good earth ---one of the reasons is because you can get a whole pot o tea and enjoy it.   All the food options are healthy and good choices.....I just really love the menu, the atmosphere, the whole idea of eating a little bit better....It does get a diverse crowd and you will pay a tad more for your meal but it takes a little more to provide organic and healthy fresh ingredients.  The fresh juice choices are great too....

Tried the Turkey Sliders, which when paired with a little side salad and their famous tea made for a meal I could safely log on the diet chart. The sliders were doctored up with wild rice and spinach, so tastier than your usual. If you're going small for a meal, this is a decent choice.

Went there for my birthday and keep coming back when I'm at the Galleria for the ginger cookies. On your birthday, you get your choice of dessert and the food is quite good. I'll go back for dinner again soon.

    Good service.
Good meal.  Ate a very nice seasonal salad of green tea smoked chicken, romaine lettuce, few pieces of avocado, fresh assorted berries, few strips of crispy-fried wonton skin and a raspberry vinaigrette and enjoyed their recommended wine, a CA pinot grigio.
Disappointing desserts.  Chocolate panna cotta with a soft (soggy?) small chocolate cookie stuck into it.  Their version of panna cotta was more like a very rich, sweet, heavy chocolate mousse-pudding.  Panna cottas should have gelatin in them which usually results in a semi-jelled texture, so as to be "light" in texture.  Another dessert, a coconut cake with fresh peaches and peach sauce and vanilla ice cream, was also underwhelming.  The cake, itself, was good, but the fresh peaches were "rock hard" instead of being soft, juicy and flavorful.

It looks like a chain restaurant, feels like a chain restaurant, but tastes like a moderately upscale health restaurant.

I love the menu. So many options and the majority of them you can feel good about. The menu changes with the season and they also note what their feature produce are and the farm's that provide it. For being in the suburbs and offering fresh, local ingredients, the menu is surprisingly well-priced. They have a "Tender Prices for Tough Times" section on the menu that notes their daily specials.

On Monday nights (when we went) they have $10 bottles of wine. And not just a cheap white or cheap red, but multiple choices for both white and red. The bottle of Merlot we had was velvety smooth and went well with all the food.

I probably got the least healthy item on the healthy menu, the summer gnocchi. They seem to always do a good job with their seasonal gnocchis and risottos. The gnocchi had a very light cream sauce and the "seasonal" produce were grilled asparagus, sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms and peas. I'm not sure those are all summer, but the pasta was delicious and savory nonetheless. Even if it was the unhealthiest thing on a healthy restaurant's menu.

Last, but certainly not least, the heiroom tomato flatbread. I know what you're thinking- been there done that. But this is unlike the typical tomato/mozzarella/flat-bready things you've been eating all summer. Two things: sun dried tomato pesto and mozzarella made from nearby Mozza Mia. It is crunchy, savory, salty, fresh and gooey. The arugula didn't hurt either.

The downside: the atmosphere/decór. If they ditched the big plastic menus and exchanged their fabric booths for bistro-like tables it would feel a lot cooler than their current Denny's-esqueness. Eat outside if you can. The patio is cute and romantic.

Dinners at Good Earth will go down as the only bright spot during an otherwise bleak series of workweeks at Edina over the summer of 2012.
But oh, how I loved those dinners - they were totally worth the invariably long wait in a perfectly nice setting.
My favorites - the seasonal cucumber soup & the vegetarian enchilada ( fresh & yummy!), although others like the wok vegetables, the Mediterranean appetizers, the teas -- well, pretty much everything vegetarian on the menu come a not too distant second! Over several trips in there over the summer, I've never really been disappointed with the fare - the options are plentiful, the food is fresh, the portions are comfortable - don't leave you feeling stuffed but aren't bite-sized either.

The only gripe I have with Good Earth is their service - slow cooking and the farm to table concept is great, but a slow process of getting to your table and getting served -- not that great!

Regardless, Good Earth is one of my top dining destinations across several cities.

For all those that gave this place a 5-star, I only ask, Really??
We went to this establishment last Saturday for my wife's birthday.  It wasn't busy and we were seated right away.  We asked the greeter if a gluten free menu was available, she replied no, but the server would be able to help with that. During a fairly lengthy wait, my wife overheard the the table next to us ordering food with questions regarding food allergies.  Not hearing the whole conversation, her mood was upbeat.
After more of a wait, the server arrived with what seemed to be a bit of an attitude, apparently annoyed by something prior to us. We asked him about gluten free options and the immediate response was the glazed look our family has grown used to.  In fairness, he quickly gained composure and pointed out two items the menu description noted were made with non wheat or dairy ingredients.  However, all he could point out were two (2); one of which was a curry stir fry.  This is where I get irritated.  Not that it was the servers fault, but if we wanted stir-fry we would have gone to Big Bowl which is just down the hall in the Galleria.  The other option was a corn meal fish taco.  Didn't try it, probably good, but fish tacos via The Good EARTH didn't sound all that appealing.
Now I appeal to you who boldly stand up to defend The Good Earth.  I realize that as a family who suffers from food allergies it is not the restaurants job to cater to just our needs.  However, in this day and age, where food allergies are more and more common (did I mention the table next to us also had wheat, dairy, as well as corn allergies), a restaurant of this supposed caliber should at least expand their idealism to a growing market.  At the very least, have available more options for mix and match. We can get gluten free buns for a buck more at Red Robin.  Why not here?  I will point out, the Good Earth burger was quite good, but my daughters pizza (she can eat wheat) was like card board.

I usually LOVE the chicken salad melt. Unfortunately, the last time I went I had at least 3 bones in there. Not so cute to be pulling those out of your mouth on a 2nd date. Good wine list, nice bakery items.

This is my absolute favorite breakfast spot in the south metro. Yes, the atmosphere of the Galleria is a little chi-chi, ritzy, whatever, and there's always some Chanel-wearing, pearl-sporting lady in capri pants around to give the stink-eye to a dreadlocked hippie like me, but overall, the breakfast is worth it.

The nitrate-free bacon is the best bacon I've had anywhere, crispy and flavorful. The amazing bottomless cup of Good Earth tea, with its fragrance of cinnamon and spice, is irresistible to me even in the hottest of weather. And that brioche french toast! Ohh, my mouth waters just thinking of it. And of course you can have REAL maple syrup (as opposed to the corn-based stuff you're stuck with at most places) if you're willing to pay an extra $2. Overall, this is not an expensive breakfast. You can get eggs, meat, and that wonderful french toast on weekday mornings for only $7.25.

The service is a little spotty at this location, and it's not quite as comfortable as the Roseville Good Earth. But still, the food is great and the experience is consistently above average, so we'll probably keep coming back again and again.

Wayyyyy over priced... Decent food but apparently inflation hit this restaurant decades before everyone else... $3 regular (12oz) coffee with no free refills?! I'll go elsewhere.

Clean food, fairly good selection, okay "inspiration," and so-so atmosphere (it's in a mall, what can you say?). Definitely a good spot if you are traveling to the city and want to avoid eating "fried this-and-that smothered in processed cheese". The outdoor patio looked nice, but don't expect good views (remember the mall... you gotta park somewhere, right?).  It will stay on my list.

The Good Earth will provide you with an adequate meal. Nothing amazing, nothing terrible - just middle of the road.

Don't get the Salmon - extremely dry and under-seasoned. Also, none of their appetizers are worth ordering. However, most of their sandwiches (and salads!) are good, especially the bison burger. They also pour a generous glass of wine, which is very much appreciated.

The restuarant could really use a makeover and the service is either really good or really bad, but if you're looking for a healthy meal out - Good Earth fits the bill.

Had a friend who loved the place.  Food is "healthy" and the menu offers a lighter breakfast.  I didn't think it was so great, but haven't been for a few years.

Parking available and close to Southdale Mall.

    I would go back.

One of my resolutions this year is to eat healthier...who's with me?

So Good Earth is a Parasole restaurant and it shows in a good way. Their restaurants have always been solid, good eating and GE's no different.

The atmosphere feels like a pottery barn. about 36 tons of tan and brown.

The food was tasty. Mrs. G got Joe's Eggs, plenty of tender beef and cheese. I had the Turkey Scramble, also tasty.

Honestly...I'm not excited to write about the Good Earth.

I just want to beat Annie's Challenge.

The Good Earth sets a new bar for terrible customer service and questionable food.

There was a period in my life when I worked in the Galleria.  I managed a coffee shop there, and it was pure hell.  I can personally attest to the fact that the Galleria is probably one of the single most challenging places on Earth to provide good customer service.  The typical clientele tends to be entitled and often times unreasonable.  Sorry Edina shoppers, it's true.  I once had a customer pour a latter out onto the floor in front of one of my bewildered baristas, because it "wasn't made right."  Seriously, there are some crazy ass customers at the Galleria.  That said, there is no amount of service worker abuse or ludicrous customer behavior to account for the ridiculously bad service and rude attitude of the staff at the Good Earth.

For whatever reason (probably because they live really close) my girlfriend's grandmother and her husband love the Good Earth and offered to take us there for dinner.  We arrived a few minutes prior to our reservation, checked in, and were given a buzzer to alert us when our table would be ready.  We sat patiently on the bench facing the entry of the restaurant, but the buzzer never went off.  As time passed it seemed odd that we had to wait, especially considering the fact that we had made our reservations days before and could see many open tables available.  After waiting over 30 minutes, we checked back with the hostess, who nonchalantly claimed that there must have been some confusion over our reservation.  After another 10 minutes, we were seated.  No apology.  No complementary drinks for the mix up.  Nothing.

Once we were in the Good Earth, things did not get much better.  The wait staff was inattentive and rude.  They took a short tone with our elderly dinner mates.  Water glasses were left unfilled.  The food was an over-priced health food version of Perkins grub.

There are many reasons why I will never willingly return to the Galleria, and among the top of the list is the Good Earth.

If you're looking for a burger and french fries place, don't come here. If you're looking for a healthier alternative to eating out, come here.

I've had the turkey sliders and chicken salad sandwich and both were very tastey. We had reservations when we went which is recommended on a weekend night. It gets very very busy. All the staff are friendly and pleasant for the most part.

I'm excited about this place because I'm trying to eat healthier but I love going out and finding new restaurants and eating the worst possible crap I can. I really feel a sense of ease knowing that they are only cooking with the freshest and most natural foods that a restaurant can.

I've seen a ton of bad reviews, but to be honest I haven't had a bad experience yet.

This place is delicious, I love their wide variety of unique foods, and I've never had a bad menu item.

From their nachos, salads, risotto, burritos, etc. Don't let "organic" fool you into thinking you can overeat here though, or that everything is healthy.

They have a great patio for summer nights that offers both shady and sunny spots.

I've tasted two dishes at this place, the Thia Chicken Noodles and the  Chicken Curry. Both were delicious but I must say that the Thia Chicken Noodles were full of spicy awesome! I was impressed and surprised  by the prices at this restaurant due to the fact that everything is wholesome and natural. The only thing I would like to see are larger portions. Honestly, I'd pay a couple bucks more just to see a larger dish!

I have seen quite a few complaints about the quality of service. I can say we didn't experience that. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. The only downside to this restaurant is that it took a good 20 minutes to get our food. But honestly, I think for the quality of ingredients you're getting... the wait is worth it! We'll be going again in the future.

Good Earth is firmly established in the California cuisine tradition that spread like wildfire in the nineties. Judging from the crowd of people waiting to be seated, with still more frequenting the deli counter outside, they've clearly enjoyed lasting success. I was brought to the Good Earth on a recent weekday while looking for a good lunch option in Edina. Fueled by (my wife's) positive memories of the place, we waited patiently for the accurately predicted half-hour before being seated. Unfortunately, I cannot say that the wait was worth it. The restaurant's not bad, but there are better options to be had in the city.

The Good Earth must have come from the nineties, because it looks the part. The food could use an update, too. I was excited to find out that their menus are supposedly seasonal, but there's nothing seasonal about fresh tomatoes in the heart of the Minnesota winter. That said, I threw caution to the wind and went with their namesake burger featuring said tomatoes along with a whole host of other stuff. My wife went with the mediterranean salad. It took a few minutes to register our order, because our (otherwise very gracious) waitress was running slow. In fact, the entire restaurant looked like it was behind schedule, with several tables open despite the long wait.

Our food arrived without too much delay and it was good but not great. My burger, which may have been made with a frozen patty, was dense and meaty. With all of its toppings, it was decent but nothing special. The bun was utterly incapable of holding a burger half its size so I had to use a knife and fork. My wife's salad looked more like an appetizer plate, with a few leaves of lettuce, some spoonfuls of tabouleh, pita bread with hummus, and a sprinkling of feta cheese. We were hungry, and I pitied her. Fortunately, I had enough to share and we finished off our meal with a tasty shake. That was enough for us, and while the Good Earth isn't my favorite, It's not a bad joint.

If you're like me, and you are looking to eat what's good for your health / body but at the same time, want something delicious and not too pricey, then the Good Earth Restaurant is the place to be.

The Good Earth Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My favorite time to visit is breakfast.

I would first like to point out that they serve the BEST breakfast. I had such a tough time picking what I wanted because everything sounded amazing, but I went along with  the "Good Earth Huevos." It was basically two breakfast burritos served in whole wheat tortillas with eggs, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, and salsa. If you like festive food and if you like breakfast food, this is the dish to get!

The service at The Good Earth is wonderful. They seem to hire the most down to [good] earth staff!... PUNny, yes? :) Anyways, another favorite of mine, is The Good Earth's organic oatmeal. The oats are slow-toasted to create a thick and rich texture. It fills your belly straight to satisfaction.

The Good Earth Restaurant is a great place to go with family, friends, or even solo. Again, this is a business that I really wish was available in Indiana where I go to school, because I would definitely be a regular customer.

Two thumbs up for their food and service. I already can't wait until my next visit.

Despite the less than pleasant reviews for this place I decided to give it a shot for a fun Tuesday night with a friend. I have a hard time assigning a particular number of starts because the experience was inconsistent.

    Yay!
    1. The server brought treats and activities for my almost 1 year old son.
    2. The bread basket came with hummus, awesome!
    3. My Teriyaki chicken was fantastic.
    4. The prices were very reasonable, its hard to find organic food for such a low price.  I believe my total including tip was $16!

    Boo!
1.My friend and I were seated ahead of 3 waiting groups, not sure why but that seemed weird for them, great for me.
    2. The server took forever to take our order.
    3. My broccoli was cold and the stems looked raw. When I sent it back I think they just heated up the entire plate because my sweet potatoes came back so hot they burned my mouth. :(

So I averaged it out to a generous 3 stars.

This place has all the fixins' for an amazing place, which is why it is so disappointing that I am not sure that I ever want to go back.

From the start, I knew that our waitress what a wastoide.  She was flighty, didn't bring us water until our ordered drinks arrived, and when we asked about the specials we were huffily informed that they were listed in the menu. I ordered a mini-bottle of Cava and the edamame appetizer. For an entree I ordered the Grilled Shrimp Club (yes, I occasionally order items simply based on the presence of avocado).

The food was yummy and fresh  (for a large suburban restaurant), but the service was so bad that I actually complained to the manager. And, by the end of the visit, I had a $25 gift card to use at my next visit.....now, I just have to get the nerve to try the place out again.

I do not frequently give out low reviews.  But I've had it with this place.  The service was atrocious.  Took 10 minutes for them to take our drink order.  And I was watching the incompetent waiter screw up every table around me.  It was like a snowball effect of bad service.  And everyone in his section had the same downtrodden, ignored, morose expressions on their faces.

I promised my daughter pancakes for dinner, so I couldn't ditch.

I complained to the manager afterwards and said she should probably watch him more closely, but she didn't care.

Because service is notoriously bad here, many of my friends that work at the Galleria steer clear of this place.

Not a bad place to go if you're around the Galleria.  I almost took away another star because our service (at least our server) sucked.  We waited about 10 minutes at our table with no one stopping by.  Finally, after staring down a waitress walking by, she asked if we'd been helped yet and I said no.  She had to hunt down our waitress to serve us.  She didn't stop by other than to take our order and bring our food.  Then after she dropped our bill off, she disappeared for 15 minutes.  Is it really that much of a hassle to do your job?

We ordered a tilapia dish that came with a vegetable bean soup and fruit.  That was alright, the fish itself was pretty good but the sauce was a bit sour.  We also had some thai noodle chicken dish.  Flavor was good but nothing special.  The bread basket was probably the best part of our meal.  It's pretty good bread.

We were doing some shopping at Southdale and needed lunch.  The restaurants at Southdale didn't appeal to us so we headed to the Galleria.   At first we were thinking Crave but to be honest I was not thrilled about that idea.  So we went to Good Earth.  I had not been before but I have their tea in my cupboard.   The restaurant is simple.  We were seated quickly since we didn't care if we were inside or outside.

Our server was very friendly.   I ordered the Thai chicken wrap.   It was very good and big.  I ended up taking some home.  P ordered the Make it Your Own.  You get soup or salad, a main course, and dessert - choice of fruit or chocolate brownie.  He had the corn chowder and after finishing quickly looked at me and said "Oh I should have offered you a taste."  DUH :-)  He than had the Mahi Mahi which he said was very good.  Now P is very healthy conscious so he opted for the fruit.  I did frown hoping to have some of the chocolate.

Overall we very happy with the food and experience.   I have to say it is the first restaurant I have been where the waitstaff don't look like they stepped out of a GAP ad.  Real people serving real food.

Good organic goods which is hard to find in MN. I enjoy being able to come somewhere and not have to test the wait staff about how much mayo is in everything. I wish we had one in nor cal given that good earth tea is made in Santa Cruz....

I love the iced teas and the hummus on the table. I have had some bad experiences eating on the patio with temperature.

3.5 Stars. I used to be such a fan of this place - homemade lemonade, fresh ingredients, cute patio.
But seriously they NEED to address their service issues. The last 3 times I've visited it has been painfully slow - like 1.5 hours to eat lunch the other day...boo!

On a good note - I love their "just for you" section on the menu where you get a soup or salad, fresh entree that seems to change weekly (I had ahi tuna with a cucumber and tomato salad - you get to pick from 2) and then a dessert. All for $9.95. Their mexican dishes are also delish. My hubby lives for the Shrimp Club.

I think it's a bit overpriced.  Sure, it's in the Galleria...but come on! The greek salad was good, but not that good.

I wish they had a larger vegetarian soup selection.

I didn't drink it, but the lemonade looked good.  I drank the coffee, and I was very pleased.

Be prepared for a little wait if you don't have reservations because Good Earth is a popular Edina dining spot for lunch and dinner.  It draws the Galleria and Southdale crowd, so the place is alway hopping.

That being said, once you get a table, settle in for a lovely time.  The Good Earth Planet Burger (veggie burger) is my stand-by fave.  It's full of nuts and veggies and I get it topped with grilled mushrooms and avacados.  I love that they have brown rice for a side option and will always bring you some tamari to top it with.  Be sure to check out their specials menu as well, as there is usually something seasonal and wonderful to be found.  Their rissotos are awesome and often come with goodies like swiss chard.  If you're thirsty, try one of their fresh squeezed lemonades.  They are so refreshing and tart.  They also have a nice little beer and wine seleciton that often features some organic options.  Good Earth is by far my favorite dining spot when in the Edina area.  It's fresh, healthy and so tasty!

I used to work in the Galleria and, every so often, the urge would strike for a Good Earth cookie and drink (or maybe some of their frozen yogurt.) I'd walk through the mall to their take-out area only to be met with the most out-of-control line ever. The place didn't even need to be that busy - there is no clear cut way to even form the line, so it would just be a mass of people standing around waiting for help. If people DID try to form a line, some old Edina bitty would just walk up to the registers and be helped right away.

Needless to say, I would just walk away without getting things most of the time. If a business doesn't care enough to buy something as simple as a rope to control the lines and the employees just plain don't give a shit then, whatever, Starbucks is just down the hall.

Mall food usually sucks. But this is the place that produces the awesome tea they sell at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods.  They obviously sell that here, as well as salads, sandwiches, and entrees all veering towards hearty and healthy without tasting like twigs, berries, and grass

Not just for the vegetarian, but definitely will only disappoint those who crave the processed HFCS chemical jolt one gets from fast food.

The rainforest cookies (some of the proceeds go to protecting the rainforest) are great, as are the orange juice, mixed juice drinks, turkey sandwiches, house salad, and soups.
