Tavern on France

Finally went to Tavern On France after a few years of driving by!  There were 5 of us for dinner, and we all definitely enjoyed it.  The service and food were both better than anticipated.  We had the make your own burger (excellent) and make your own pizza (excellent also!).  Buffalo chicken sandwich was very good.  Prices were reasonable and portions were large!  We'll be back!

This place has definitely gone down hill for me.  We used to love coming here for the drinks, but now they're just watered down and a waste of money.  Our food was cold, the waitress extremely slow.  Our waitress went off duty and nobody else took over, even tho we had ordered dessert.  So we sat there, waiting for 15 mins before my bf went and asked what was going on.  Turns out our desserts were just sitting in the back and nobody could be bothered to serve them to us.  We will NOT be coming back to this place anymore.

When I lived in Minneapolis, I drove past this place a thousand times on my way home from work. Its location seemed convenient, so one day mid-week when my parents wanted to meet up for apetizers and a drink I suggested Tavern on France.

While we didn't have a full dinner, I can tell you about my experience. First, the parking lot is tight. People herd to this place for happy hour and sometimes it can be a battle to find a parking spot.

Once we were in the door, it was another twenty minute wait for a spot. That's fine, but the delay only increased my expectations and appetite. Unfortunately, Tavern on France was not up to snuff.

We ordered bruschetta and drinks. I had a bloody mary. The bruschetta was good, if nothing out of the ordinary, but my bloody mary was terrible. The place billed it as something special, with tons of customization options, but special it was not. It tasted like a watered down can of spaghetti-o sauce (This is not a hyperbole, seriously) and the edible sides were nothing extraordinary.

Summary: The place is busy, mediocre and has terrible bloody mary's.
