Harry's is a great spot to sit at the bar since it's a smaller and more intimate place than other restaurants in the area. Excellent sliders and really great prices!

This is a very small but fun place. This is not a cheeseburger place only a slider place. I ordered the pig sliders with pulled pork on top. It was good. I also got a beer and a side of cheese fries. I'm slim and that was probably enough food. The sliders were good. The fries were fine. Good selection of beer. I ate some of my son's hot dog too. It was decent...and huge! I would recommend this place...it's American food...so don't expect to eat healthy. It's fun and I could see going back to try different sliders if I lived in the area.
Also, we were told it is ranked in the top 10 for best cheeseburgers in the US...no way. The judge apparently never went to California.

I gave Harry's 4 stars, and I don't even like burgers, so that should tell ya something.

I went with a group of hungry friends.  We sat down, and I immediately ordered a beer (which was a task in and of itself - the list is extensive)!  I love a place that A) serves a wide selection of beer, and B) has both the price and alcohol content listed in a nice lil spreadsheet for me to compare/contrast.

Like I said, I don't eat burgers.  BUT the sweet potato fries (which usually aren't even my thang) were fantastical.  THey come with this green dipping sauce that was really something else.  It was great. Never putting those guys in honey mustard again.

Also, I got an AMAZING ice cream sandwich there.  Split it with a friend, it's probably 2x the size of a chipwich, and about 10x as good. It's on two crispy fresh baked cookies nommmnomm and the ice cream was great.

I took a star off cause it took like FOREVER for our food to come, but at leaste I had a nice cold beer to apease me.

Fancy?  No.  But I've been here twice (once late at night, once for lunch) and been satisfied both times.  The sliders are incredibly tasty - juicy but not greasy.  The salt and pepper fries are amazing and could easily be eaten on their own without the burgers at all.  And the beer selection is great... anyplace I can get Old Speckled Hen on tap, I'm a fan.  Atmosphere is kind of divey, but fun divey instead of "you'll catch hepatitis" divey.  If you're looking for a quick lunch or some late night grub to soak up some of the booze in your system, Harry's is a good place to go.

I can't say much since I only came here for late night drinks with friends - but, I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and overall vibe of Harry's.

There is a nice spacious upstairs area. And, the bathroom had a TV playing horror movies. I think this is to scare people from taking too much time on the toilet.

The selection of booze and beer is good. But, I think the bartender didn't really know what s/he was doing because I asked for a Black & Coke and got a giant glass of soda with a faint taste of Johnnie.

Yum. I LOVE Harry's burgers. They're AMAZING. The service isn't all that great, but every time I've gotten sliders they're really good. Sometimes things can get a little pricey if you get drinks. One time my boyfriend ordered a beer (off the list that doesn't have prices) and asked how much it was and was told "not much more than your friends" because his friend ordered an IPA. His beer ended up being twelve dollars for a pint. Not worth it. Misinformed. Four stars for the burgers, though.

I dig Harry's.  They have good sliders at decent prices.  This is especially true during their burger happy hour that runs in the early evening.

I especially love their veggie black bean sliders with their tasty bbq sauce.  I'm not a huge fan of their regular fries but I enjoy their sweet potato fries.  The sliders don't come with a side but it's a couple of dollars extra if you wish to partake.  Their draft selection is small and beer is rather expensive.   The drafts that they do carry are usually tasty, local craft beers, which is a plus.  Their cocktail list usually doesn't have anything too showstopping but they make a rather tasty margarita (hint: it's not on the menu but they have a full bar and sour mix).

The bathrooms are cool since they are often playing old faves such as Planes, Trains, and Automobiles or other classics on their tv. There are two separate dining areas, an upstairs area and downstairs dining area plus bar.  Even with the two dining spaces, there still seems to be a wait the majority of the time I come in.  All, in all, I dig Harry's but it isn't quite my fave burger space.  i will keep coming back because of their tasty burgers but it's not quite a four or five star place in my heart.

Great food at great prices, what a rarity for Providence.  Probably the only place I've been where they let you substitute the vegetarian bean burger for any of the other slider burgers.  I got the Fungus Amongus with the bean burger and it was delicious.  The Kryptonite Aoili is to die for.  Sweet potato fries were crisp and went well with my Old Speckled Hen cream ale.  My only complaint was the noise level, music was way too loud.

Stopped in for lunch, due to a great recommendation from Andy Kerr!  Had a combination of turkey burgers and sweet potato fries, with several glasses of homemade iced tea.  I am still in awe of the great meal.  Service was very attentive and quick, for such a small place.

Full disclosure, my friend works here!

I have to limit my review to the food and beer because I would not count as an impartial observer on the service. One thing I have thought about Providence is that it is a place with truly exciting restaurants and bars that put this tiny city in direct competition with the big boys like New York. We know it, and can be pretty snobby about it. It is fun to bring people from other parts of the country here, and to surprise them with the sheer concentration of yum. Burgers are a challenge, because many think their local burgers are the best. We had the Ugly American, which sadly closed. We still have Harry's, which carries sliders that offer a true burger experience. Burgers are suppose to be made from moderately fatty ground beef, they should be juicy to the point of being a little drippy, and the meat portion of the burger should be good enough to stand alone, so the burger itself isn't relying solely on the condiments. These rules are immutable, and are believed to be innately imprinted in our minds, showing apparent expression in early childhood. We may have inherited this trait from our burger loving ancestors.

What makes a truly good burger, is the perfectly constituted patty combined with toppings that amplify its flavor notes. This can be achieved with very fresh vegetables, bold cheese, and a bun that provides little interference with the flavor of the meat. Potato flour buns are optimal for this task, since they have a mildly sweet flavor that remains stable as you chew. Harry's utilizes all of these ingredients, and does so with that charm that you get with a lot of places in Providence. We aren't fancy schmancy, but that doesn't mean our food has to be made out of industrial waste and bio hazardous material. The ingredients are from local sources much in the tradition of Providence.

When I go to a restaurant, I don't want too many options. Too much choice is not good. It has the psychological impact of making you unsure about your decision. I also means that they have TONS of stuff sitting in the freezer, because no restaurant would have a million menu items knowing that much of the food won't be ordered, and would just have to be thrown out. The limited nature of the menu convinces me that their claims about fresh and local and genuine. My taste buds confirm this. Now, all of that being said, I DO want a large selection of beer to choose from. Beer won't go bad sitting in a fridge. The more beer to choose from, the more opportunity I will have to search for just the right craft-slider combination. On several occasions, I have asked servers what they thought, and found some incredible pairings. If there is anything I have discovered in life, it is that the right beer makes the burger. Harry's knows this, and you will know this soon too if you head on down to North Main.

Our favorite late night burger joint! I mean, how do you go wrong with a couple of Fungus Among Us sliders (look it up, nay go there and try it!). A little secret we've been utilizing is the downstairs shuffleboard room... if the wait time is too long and we have a couple people, we ask if we can just eat downstairs and it's usually open! There's a bar-table with five or six stools, a shuffleboard(!!), and two TVs. This way we're usually seated immediately and we end up having way more fun. Also, order the chocolate crack (especially if Joel is your waiter, you'll find out).

When a place has a very limited menu, they better do what they have well. Harry's meets this expectation. Their menu is basically just sliders and beer. I walked past this place for years and always said that I would try this place another time but never did until about 2 weeks ago. They are known for their sliders and they are delicious. I am a big fan of the M.O.A.B (Mother of All Burgers). It is just 2 little pieces of heaven. I like to have heaven served with chili cheese fries and a beer from their great selection and it is as close to a religious experience you can get without going to church. If you are feeling ambitious, just make it a threesome which adds another slider. Its a little place with a big atmosphere.

Harry also does not like to rob you of your money so you can expect a good burger and beer for a fair price!!

We were lucky enough to get a seat at the bar. Service was great. Bartender friendly. They have a large selection of bottled beers and have  about five beers on tap. No crap on tap here so leave your Budweiser koozie at home. Burgers were delicious. We tried three different burgers. I was impressed with the fungus amungus!

Excellent burgers and fries.  Chicken wings also rocked.  Nachos fell short so don't bother with those. Had chocolate chip cookie ice sandwiches that totally rocked (freshly made).  Good service, intimate space

Tried Harry's yesterday (April 23, 2013) after I read some Google reviews.  Came in at lunch and it is SMALL.  But they have a very interesting menu of specialty hamburgers which come in a "slider" format of 2 smaller sandwiches per order.  I tried a bacon, cheese burger at lunch with fries - very distinctive, interesting.
I found myself driving by about 3:15 and remembered that my, friendly, waitress said they had a special from 3-5:00, so I stopped and ordered a chili, cheese burger and a couple other choices to take out.  The chili burger was, again, distinctive.
I can see where it can be crowded, but certainly very interesting to me and my initial experience was good.

I can't say enough good things about this place.  Let me just recount my experience: We didn't know where to eat in Providence although I'd heard of Harry's before.  We wandered in and I didn't know it was the same place I had heard of.  We were seated immediately with no wait during a busy lunch time.  The waiter was highly prompt with both our drinks, appetizers and food delivery.  The sliders were easily some of the best I've ever had.  The sweet potato fries were exactly right and the sauces weren't overwhelming or too spicy.  The bill was reasonable and everything was promptly delivered by a very courteous and thorough waiter.  All told, simply an outstanding experience.  It was far more than I expected for a place like Harry's and I am so glad I was pleasantly surprised.  We'll be going back EVERY time I am in Providence.  Hopefully your experience will be the same.

A lot of people near me like their burgers but I personally have tasted burgers that are better and personally Harry's burgers are too greasy for me..not really of big fan of greasy food..
I think Luxe burgers are better because you can customize the burgers to how you want it to be-

The burgers are okay, but I don't ever have cravings for them, dreams about them, etc. Fries are good but don't come with the burgers which is annoying to me. Service was okay. The seating is a bit weird and cramped upstairs which made me slightly uncomfortable (I was also stoned and overly paranoid of the proximity of strangers anyway). I'd come back only during happy hour for the discount to be honest.

Harry's serves absolutely incredible sliders. They taste fresh, come in great combinations, and are highly affordable. They come in pairs or trios, and are half off from 3-5 daily. The beer and liquor selection is decent, and my servers have always been at the very least both helpful and friendly. There is a bar in the front room, and a small room with tables in the rear, both of which (with cow themed decor) are relatively comfortable. The menu overall is straightforward, and creative, however all the drinks are primarily adult oriented, so it may not be the absolute best place to bring kids. I would highly recommend Harry's, I think they could expand on their list of toppings even more, but I most certainly plan on returning.

This place is just okay. I had the fungus amongus sliders and they were alright...perhaps I didn't order enough or go with enough people because my meal was not particularly filling. It's pretty crowded on weekends and friday nights and such, so be prepared to wait. Other times it's pretty empty, but the service is pretty slow. Perhaps I just didn't do things right to have a better experience? But I'm not sure i would go again.

Came to Providence during Spring Break with a friend and was recommended this place by someone who said it would be crowded, but it was pretty vacant on a Monday around 1.

Sliders are good, with high-quality beef in the patty and a good variety of toppings. We also had the onion strings, which come with a really interesting spicy ketchup that ran out faster than the fried onions.

But the best thing about this place is the beer selection and the knowledgeable bartenders who can tell you whatever you want to know about whatever you're drinking.

It looks like I am in the minority here when it comes to Harry's. My friend and I checked the place out and I have to say it did not meet my expectations. I have heard great things about it but was less than impressed.
It may have been that my seat was directly next to the bathroom which is never appetizing when you are eating but it mainly was the food.
The sliders while I love a good slider practically bled at me. That was a bit alarming. The fries were OK but again nothing to write home about.
The beer selection was fantastic, while we did not partake we looked and it is a great selection.
I would like to say I will check them out again but I don't think I will.

A serious contender for best burger in Providence (I still have yet to try a few places). I went today for lunch with Junior and I loved the hell out of this place. Let's itemize, shall we?
    1. Beer selection was like whoa mama and reasonably priced. They had my favorite craft can, always a plus.
    2. Really good fries.
    3. THE SLIDERS. Wonderful oniony brown bits of heaven on a potato bun. I went with the pulled pork one and Junior stuck with the classic. Increduballs good.
    4. Junior is the most picky eater on Earth and he scarfed it all down. The fact that my kid ate everything is a high compliment to Harry's!
    5. Server Kayla was a sweetheart and stayed right on top of everything. It was nice to have friendly service for once.
6.Loved the decor and the 90's hip hop.
    7. OMG it only cost how much?

I'm so going back. Like tomorrow. And next week. And forever. And I'm going to try everything.

PS: Junior made his grandpa take him back the next day!

I've been here a few times, and most recently visited last night.

In the mood for a burger and a beer?  Look no further!

This is a down-to-earth bar/restaurant with a "grungy" feel (in a good way).

It has decent sliders and excellent fries.  As you can tell from some of the other reviews, the "burgers" here are actually mini-burgers or "sliders."  Each order comes with 2, or you can add a third for some extra $.  The burgers are affordable ($5-6 per order) but don't come with fries unless you order them separately.

My complaints about the burgers: the lack of seasoning and the thickness of the patties. They are a little larger than White-Castle sized patties (though definitely of higher quality).  I'd prefer something a tad thicker. Also, the patties themselves are a bit on the bland side.  Certainly not bad, but very little independent flavor of their own (aside from "meat" flavored).

The fries are excellent and dirt cheap.  They are "shoestring" style - thin and crispy!

The beer selection is fairly large, and contains some delightful surprises (for example, they carry "Porkslap").  The beer is priced accordingly for the location ($3.75ish for the cheapest beer, but most bottles are closer to $6).  I think my can of Porkslap was an affordable $4.

The service was fast and friendly!  Though i've sat upstairs before, and--depending on the time of day--it can feel like a dead zone.

Thicker, more flavorful patties and slightly cheaper beer would give this place 5 stars (for what it is - a great place to grab a burger and some beers)

This is definitely one of my favorite spots here in Providence! Their extensive beer menu full of a variety of different IPA's and local beer will keep you coming back for more. Their burgers are on point, with a variety of options to choose from. The pastrami burger is definitely my favorite but the MOAB (mother of all burgers), with its bacon, mushroom, and fried onion strings, is a top contender. And don't forget about the fries! Their sweet potato fries served with an aioli should not be passed up.
Harrys is the perfect spot to get good food and good drink with a group of friends.
Go for happy hour Monday through Friday from 3 to 5 and get half off burgers and beers.

I was initially hesitant to come here. "Sliders?! How am I supposed to get full off of two sliders?" Boy am I glad that I was wrong. I am trying to work my way as a burger connoisseur, and I have to say Harry's has some of the best burgers in RI! The sliders are surprisingly filling, my favorite being the pig pile burger. The sweet potato fries are delicious as well. A good beer selection, although i wish they a larger draft selection. The only aspect that prevented me from giving Harry's 5 stars is the service. Occasionally slow service, but my gripe is they don't smile enough...they need a dose of the McDonald's theme song :)

I'm much overdue for a Harry's review update, so here it is, simple:
You can't get a better lunch, for a better price, in Providence. (or a better Happy Hour) The burgers are EXCELLENT and very filling. The regular fries and sweet potato fries are both delicious. The bartenders and waitresses are friendly, attentive, and make you want to keep coming back. I love Harry's- its a must try.

Happy Hour: Monday - Friday 3-5pm 1/2 off burgers & beers (Yes that means $2 burgers and $3 beers!!)

We've been to Harry's many times and they have consistently performed well. This is a great place to bring friends because it has a relaxed atmosphere and is inexpensive. The variety of burgers is good for return trips. The alcoholic milkshakes may clog your arteries and give you some cavities, but they are life changing! The desserts weren't particularly impressive, and our friends don't drink much so we can't comment on the bar scene.

    Note: vegetarians should stay away.

Harry's was a wonderful and delicious surprise on N Main in providence. I came here with my girlfriend for one of her friend's birthday dinner. They had a reservation so the table was setup when we got there. We actually hung around the bar area for 15 minutes or so to wait for the others in the party to arrive and the staff was fine with us hanging out at the bar.

The friend who booked the table actually booked a room that they have in the basement that just so happens to have a shuffleboard table. However, it did not have any tables to eat on... We were rolling 12 deep and without any tables and just little shelves to put drinks on did not workout. We asked for some tables and in a few minutes time, were than escorted to the second floor (many floors to this establishment) through a narrow stairway from the entrance, where we were seated. The upstairs dining area was smallish in size and it felt like we took up half the upstairs area. But we were all comfortably seated now.

So the beer from Harry's is pretty good. They had only three beers on tap but they were fine selections. I had a Sixpoint sour wheat beer and it delish. Oh and don't forget to order the boot glass that is only 68 oz. Only draft selection can be ordered to fill the boot (obvious reasons). So make sure you like the beer!

As for the burgers - actually sliders - they were excellent. I had the Fungus Among Us slider and complimented the sliders with Sloppy Harry Chili Fries. It was a pairing like white on rice. My girl ordered the Crunch Burger which they over did it with the fried onion strings. It was overflowing to the floor (maybe not that much).

Overall the service was excellent since we had a large party. The food and drinks came out promptly without mess ups. When the bill came, the waiter was nice enough to offer some members of our party to immediately charge their portion so as to make the other party paying by cash easier to split.

I would recommend going and would personally be back to taste some of their other burgers.

    3.5 Stars.

Came here with my brother for lunch the day before Thanksgiving.  Housed in an old building on N. Main St, there is a nice bar area on ground level and a stairway going upstairs lined with blackboard and sidewalk chalk to unleash your creative talents (which for most people seems to be the ability to spell one's name).  Upstairs, the ambiance is that of a cheap mom and pop type family restaurant you'd find on the side of the highway in the middle of nowhere.

It didn't take me long to figure out that  you come to Harry's for beer and burgers.  Burgers are "sliders" although they are at least twice the size of what you know from Whitecastle and come 2 per order (with an option for a threesome: a third burger at half the price of an order).  I went with a threesome of cheeseburgers, he got a trio of M.O.A.B.s.

It's has been noted that how much I like food is directly proportional to how fast I eat it, and I had finished 2 burgers before my brother finished one.  I had already strategized how I was going to eat my last burger and poach a M.O.A.B., but my bro launched a pre-emptive strike and offered to trade one of his M.O.A.Bs for my cheeseburger, sensing I was about to go honeybadger on his lunch.  The M.O.A.B. by the way, is a juicy, delicious, bite size heart attack in the making with cheese, bacon, mushrooms, and fried onion strings.  Needless to say, if I have to mention something 4 times in a review in all caps, you'll want to order it.

I've been to Harry's several times and for the most part I really do like it here with one exception, the wait time and service.

Harry's seems to do something very specific that makes all the difference, from what I can tell they use a flat-top griddle (as opposed to an open fire grill) that holds all those fatty juices inside the burger for your meat loving pleasure. It tastes much like the flat-top griddled burgers of Shake Shack fame, and similarly Harry's house their patties in a soft and delicious potato bun.

When I plan on writing a review then I order accordingly - order steak at a steakhouse and a burger at a burger bar. I recommend you do the same here as my one venture away from this lead me to a sub-par hot dog. I've tried the M.O.A.B., Fungus Among Us, and the Crunch Burger. Each order of burgers comes with two sliders and are well priced between $5-6 per order. They also offer half price burgers daily from 3-5pm on the dot- so if you sit down at 4:55pm but don't order until 5:01pm, you're out of luck. There are several fries that are also very tasty although I should note that the string fries can come out pretty greasy.

Harry's has a small and playful atmosphere with interesting aesthetics, televisions, and an upper level of seating. I really enjoy the quiet music that appeals to multiple tastes ranging from Ray Charles, Peter Bjorn & John, and Nas. They also have a good beer selection; a normal tip off of this for me is when I see old speckled hen on tap. Yum.

But...and there's always a but with three stars...the service! The staff does seem friendly and willing to help but during my last visit the food came out forty minutes after we placed our order for two burgers and a side of string fries. So after thirty minutes I asked our waitress if our order had in fact been put through and she explained that there was a large takeout order of 150 burgers which was causing the holdup and that ours would still take a few more minutes. I then asked her if she could at least bring out our order of fries which she agreed and did so five minutes later.

I imagine that Harry's flat top grille isn't very big and that in order to fill an order of 150 burgers they would PROBABLY need to fill it 4-6 times. However, if a restaurant is experiencing delays I would expect them to let us know before we place our order and offer to bring out something else until our burgers were ready. This coupled with the fact that another table that was seated after us received their food first, leads me to believe that our waitress either A) put our order in late B) wasn't immediately informed of the backup in the kitchen C) wasn't thinking ahead OR D) was playing scramble with friends (which I did at the table to fill some time). I always try to give servers the benefit of the doubt but in this case the bottom line is that someone goofed.

Harry, I will be back for the juicy burgers but won't come super hungry and will probably go during a game that will hold my attention until the burgers are ready.

    Burgers & Fries: A-
    Atmosphere: B+
    Service: C-

I've been here several times because I appreciate a good (but small) selection of rotating draft beers and incredibly delicious sliders. However, I don't know if I just didn't realize in the past or if they recently changed their beer prices, but I was absolutely disgusted when I found out our beers (all session, local beers i.e. nothing high alcohol or rare) were $7.50/pint!! That is absolutely nuts. This has to change because I for one won't be going back until those beer prices come back to earth.

Used to be a 5 star venue for sure, but those beer prices really struck a nasty chord with me. For shame.

Came here for the first time this past Sunday. I've heard of them before but they always slipped my mind, till i was pleasantly surprised by my friends and just taking me here. There is a downstairs and upstairs outdoor seating. its not the biggest of places but it was fine with us. we were seated and greeted right away. the menu is simple and easy to read. doesn't take you 15 minutes to look through it.

they're known for their burgers but you have to know they're sliders. you get two per order. the burgers don't come with sides. but before you judge the sliders are like 4 bucks and depending on what kind of fries you get your meal still comes out to around 7-8 bucks or so same price you'd end up paying anyways. but with this you could skip the fries and just chomp on sliders. BTW their hot-dogs are on steroids, my buddy got it and we were all thinking just a regular dog, but no.. those things weight train HEAVY.

I got the turkey burger with sweet potato fries. I loved the burgers you can tell they are hand made very flavorful fresh ingredients. The sweet potato fries were awesome, cut in house and hand battered absolutely one of the best I've had and it comes with this Kryptonite Sauce that brought me to my knees and I'm not even from Krypton.. I honestly have no idea whats it in and its green, but its freaken delicious. Superman would eat it regardless if it was killing him.

but my absolute favorite thing about the place, they had Bruce Lee's Fist of Fury playing in the bathroom #WINNING

This place has without a doubt, hands down, the best burgers in Providence and possibly anywhere I've ever been. To give this place even 4 stars, is confusing to me and somewhat upsetting. The burgers themselves are slightly larger than the normal sliders (you get two per order, but can order a "threesome". The special sauce is awesome and they have many excellent variations on the typical burger. Also, the salt and pepper fries are nearly perfected standard fries to go with the burger.

The bar is also great, with several choices on tap and several more by bottle.

Service is excellent, nearly everyone who has waited on me here has been friendly and awesome.

Music is great with excellent selection of 90's era hip-hop, amongst other genres.

Desert and other sides are also excellent.

If you're in the area and are looking forward to something delicious, cheap (half off 3-5 pm every day on burgers), and with friendly waitstaff / bartenders do yourself a favor and go.

First off, after you pass by the bar area, you enter this cool room with booths lining the walls and those awesome foot rails. There are awesome cow spots everywhere. They have a "makeout room" crossed out to be the Rest Rooms. The Decor is just awesome.

Harry's Burger isn't a Burger, it's 2 Sliders and I use the term "sliders" loosely. It's like 4-5x the size of a white castle burger, it's Huge... for a slider.

We ordered the Crispy Onion and Chili Burger, both delicious, both oh a Potato Bun YUM! Both HALF OFF!!! I want to try them all!!!

We ordered a side of Chili Fries and Onion Straws - ironically, the toppings of our burgers. Both were good but I would have rather tried the Sweet Potato Fries or had another burger!

If we ever stop by again, this is a must do!
